The forgotten Home

You called me your home so I watched the streets, the cars and every plane that flew above me, hoping you found your way back. Vines have covered my chipped walls and silence thicker than dust now fills these halls. Stranded and forgotten but my chimney forever burns, hoping you find your way back, back to what you once called your home.

I have always wondered how?

Why would the poets say that?

What did they feel?

And just as the sky saw the moon

For the first time.

My soul saw yours.

Yours intertwined with mine

And we became one.

“Soulmates” the word left my mouth

Before i knew what it was.

Laughed at it and 

Told you it was a joke.

You looked at me and i knew.

I knew you thought i was right.

Because your eyes whispered it too

While your lips just smiled.”

When you go from feeling trapped at your own home to feeling trapped in your own mind and body. What do i do now?

The realisation hit me like calm before the storm. The sudden stab in the chest a proof my soul craved. All it took were few drops of tears from your dull eyes, a pained sob and the desire to burn the world alive to realise that i am completely, painfully and helplessly in love.

Another night I spend looking at the moon. And yet again,

you are all i see.

Another night i spend listening to the silence,

but you are all i hear.

Every word i try to write

finds you.

Every letter needing the privilege

To be written for you.

A punishment I’ll endure,

A blessing that not many accept.

Remember when we laughed till tears filled our eyes and our stomachs ached? How we used to reminisce the things we said to the places we went. All the petty fights and the “i love you’s” and the ice cream filled walks. Endless memories of you, of us. But all it took was a single moment, a small crack for the glass to shatter completely. Tears of agony that i have yet to shed for i still have an unrealistic hope that i should not believe. Perhaps not now, not for few weeks or even years but one day i will accept that we have gone from making memories to you being one completely.
