Summary: Stiles finds out he has a soul mate in the most awkward way possible.</p>
Stiles was in English class trying his best to not zone out, he might be smart (like Lydia Martin smart), but a.d.h.d. was kicking his ass. The buzzing of the lights above him were drilling into his brain and the guy in front of him smelled like b.o. and Axe body spray that made him want to retch.
At least Ms. Blake usually cut him some slack.
‘Attention, class. We have a new student joining us today. Derek Hale,’ Ms. Blake said from the front of the class.
Stiles looked up and a guy was standing in front of the class. He had black hair and Stiles couldn’t help but stare. Not only did Derek have dark hair he was wearing blue flannel that made his eyes pop. Stiles always knew he was bi, but he had never been attracted to anyone the first time he saw them like he was with Derek Hale. A little part of him hoped Derek was his soul mate, but a bigger part of him knew that that would never happen; he just hoped that Derek didn’t turn out to be a massive jerk like Jackson.
‘Please take a seat next to Stiles.’
‘Yes!’ Stiles yelled and felt so embarrassed when everyone looked at him that he gripped the pen in his hand tight and wanted to be swallowed by a hole in the floor. No hole opened up, but the day was still young.
Derek walked up to Stiles with a grin and took his seat next to Stiles.
‘So I’m guessing you’re Stiles?’ Derek asked as he turned to look at Stiles.
Stiles just stared at Derek’s hazel eyes and he didn’t even notice when he dropped his pen until it clattered to the floor.
He bent down to pick it up at the same time that Derek did and their foreheads knocked together with a bonking noise.
He sat up. Suddenly he heard Derek let out a groan and when he looked up Derek was grimacing. Maybe it was a trick of the light, but his hazel eyes looked gold.
Stiles was about to ask what was wrong when he felt a sharp pain in his chest and he passed out.
That was how Stiles found out that Derek was indeed his soul mate. They had their ups and downs, but that’s a story for another time.
