Let’s add some context, so we know what happened. Amnesty had put rowling’s sexual violence support centre on a list of anti-rights organisations in this report, because it refuses services to trans women.

Beira’s Place in Edinburgh, founded by the author, says claim was ‘deeply offensive’ as it considers legal action

Rowling has been her usual horrible self on twitter about it, but is also rallying up the other organisations on the list, and donors of organisations like Amnesty and Stonewall.

That last aspect could get quite frightening. If enough people are convinced that Amnesty is not the careful and unbiased organisation that it has been since its beginning, that could really damage their reputation and funding.

Amnesty needs money. It can only be funded by individuals like you and me, because they can’t take governmental funding for obvious reasons: they take governments to account. Donate here.
