sure he wanted you dead and would have celebrated your death with fervor and lightning. sure, he would have mocked your sexual assault and he would have implied you love playing victim, he would have made any instances of abuse into fragments. sure, he was terrible and horrific to you for the crime of existing - sure! he thought that your personhood was some kind of semantic debate. and yes, oh yes. he did definitely turn others into nazis.
oh yes, of course - if you did die this way - he would have tried to debate your weeping parents, to defame your family and friends. he would have smeared your memory until you were just a conversation topic, not a person.
but now that the motherfucker is dead; you need to be so milquetoast and careful about your words. you need to condemn whoever shot him. you need to give him hour-long speeches about how he's just a person. you need to talk about him with a gentleness and kindness he has never shown you, that he would not ever have shown in your death. the way you talk about this vile white man who has a legacy of radicalism and violent rhetoric - you need to picture him with angel wings. a sad day for the country!
(if it was you - shit. he would have said you were asking for it.)
you need to privately beg god that it is someone from the rightwing, because no matter the identity of the shooter - it's going to be your fault in the end. it is going to get people hurt or killed; which is ironically probably what he would have wanted. and you don't want to rile the rightwing; because this isn't about just political debate anymore. they genuinely and truly seem to want an all-out war.
they are a weapon of god! they have been taught to stand up and say i'm christian when the shooter comes in; this is that moment for them. despite years of telling any minority "don't make victimhood your personality" - they truly believe they are being hunted. their rights infringed upon because, you know, someone on the train has a rainbow wig on. you aren't imagining it - things these days really are more unsafe. and this man fucking helped make it that way.
and you watch as this fucking country - and the actual president - repaint this man as being a fucking saint. that it is implied to be a crime just to speak badly of a man who left behind a legacy of dishonest debate. they mocked george floyd relentlessly; "just questioned the reality" of the sandy hook shooting; ignored the death of melissa hortman entirely.
it's just - it feels like fucking gaslighting. because it doesn't matter how gently and sweetly you condemn the violence - and isn't gun control is literally part of what separates the right and the left - you're still somehow calling for it. and even though he hated you and wanted you dead; you need to show that man some respect. even though he was a fucker that often hurt others and encouraged radicalization - you need to salute this man like he was an actual veteran instead of just, like, really annoying.
that man is not a hero. to have the kind personality where the first assumption at your end is - because of who he was, it was probably someone looking for revenge.
The witch woke up to see a ghostly cat standing on her chest. "All right," she muttered. "Take me there." The ghost led her to the forest, where, under a shrub, she found the cat. It was badly injured; eight ghosts of lost lives watched her heal it. "Only one left, now." "Mrew."
I've made a comic adaptation of this story, with permission! I'm going to be selling it at Malmö Seriefest this weekend, it's been so exciting getting it printed and seeing it in person and finally posting about it!
The comic itself is B6, printed in colour but only blue tones. It is only 12 pages as it's an adaptation of a micro story!
I'll likely make the comic available digitally after the weekend as well, when I'm not so busy preparing!
This will be my first market, so feeling pretty nervous about it, but also excited!
Very excited to see this in print. It is a beautiful adaptation.
the phrase “gooner behavior” needs to be obliterated from human speech. the fact that so many folks let anti-porn and anti-sex work dipshits get into their ears to the point that choosing simply to publicly exist in proximity of any expression of outward sexuality is treated as toxically immoral behavior is… frankly fucking sad. the people that want a chaste internet don’t have to socially police us anymore because they tricked you into doing it.
we have multiple unions. the APAG is the first that comes to mind. the porn industry needs societal reeducation so that the harmful stereotypes around porn and sex work, that are so common that people will argue it as irrefutable fact while quoting fiction as their source, can be entirely dismantled. we need full service sex work to be decriminalized so that providers can approach the authorities without fear of legal prosecution. we need our voices to be heard first on the subject - every single time.
Growing up with access to the internet is the reason I know I am queer. It's where I first used they/them pronouns. It's where I met my wife.
The kids we are supposed to protect, are not being protected from their families, they are being protected by their families. Any queer person will know that means something far different.
Our queer existence is pornographic to them.
The internet that is developing is not one that I could have found myself in. The sex workers, queers, feminists, freaks, and radicals who made the internet fun are being driven out, and that should scare us.

Gender essentialism is still cringe if it is directed against cis people btw. Ive basically had someone say to me that cis people are biologically incapable of understanding less normalized gender identities because "their brains work differently". If anyone has this opinion please come forward now so i can block you thank you. The reason cis people dont understand gender in the same way trans people do is because trans people are naturally more exposed to the discussion about gender because we have to think about it a lot. Cis people, who have never doubted their identity, obviously dont think about it as much, if at all.
Cis people arent inherently more stupid than us, or less capable of talking about gender on a biological level. What would that even look like???
Also, there are cis people who have doubted their identity. I always encourage cis people to explore their gender identity, because usually they’ll come away from that experience with a better understanding of who they are, whether they still identify as cis or not. Believing that cis people inherently can’t understand the nuances of gender is just a way to gatekeep those nuances from them.
god i’m not even through one episode of paranormal home inspectors and it rules, this lady thought she was being haunted by the wails of the restless dead but she was just listening to raccoons fuck in her attic
psychic: these are hieroglyphics… the spirits are trying to communicate…
home inspector: you put new paint over old paint and now the old paint is bleeding through, that’s why you’re not supposed to do that
homeowner: my daughter’s room is always cold… cold like the dead…
home inspector: you put furniture on top of her heating vent
business owner: i got locked in the bathroom even though the door has no lock
home inspector: it has a lock. the lock is right there. on the knob.
Fun fact a scientist who is very not spiritual or superstitious began seeing corner eye hallucinations and feeling intense fear and a presence in his lab around the same time that everyone else in the building was suddenly reporting it haunted.
Determined, he found that the “hauntings” stopped when the industrial air conditioning unit, that had just recently been installed, was turned off. We’ve found that measurable micro vibrations in a structure cause immense fear, and a feeling of a presence and corner eye hallucinations – just like when you watch a scary movie alone at night and you see things move in the corner of your eye or are afraid to go in the cellar because you’re convinced someone’s in there.
Why?
Because many members of our species built homes in and around cliffs and caves for tens of thousands of years. And it’s likely that these certain shaky vibrations give us intense fear and a need to move far away because that would have saved our lives if the cave were collapsing or unstable.
You’ll notice it’s always falling apart, dilapidated homes that are “haunted” - or very very old restored homes. These places might just be slightly structurally unsound. That’s all.
That’s infrasound, sounds that are below 20hz, or the limit of normal human hearing. Things that produce infrasound in nature include severe weather, earthquakes, volcanoes, tigers, alligators, rhinoceros; also known as things that can kill people. We developed an evolutionary sense of dread when our brains perceive sounds we cannot hear. The vibrations from infrasound can also vibrate the eye causing visual hallucinations.
You know what also causes infrasound? A LOT of machines, especially large industrial ones. There’s a reason haunted house stories started popping up in post industrialization. That scientist was Vic Tandy and he wrote about it in a the paper Ghosts in the Machines
“Vic Tandy, experimental officer and part-time lecturer in the school of international studies and law at Coventry University, along with Dr. Tony Lawrence of the University’s psychology department, wrote in 1998 a paper called “Ghosts in the Machine” for the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research. Their research suggested that an infrasonic signal of 19 Hz might be responsible for some ghost sightings. Tandy was working late one night alone in a supposedly haunted laboratory at Warwick, when he felt very anxious and could detect a grey blob out of the corner of his eye. When Tandy turned to face the grey blob, there was nothing. The following day, Tandy was working on his fencing foil, with the handle held in a vice. Although there was nothing touching it, the blade started to vibrate wildly. Further investigation led Tandy to discover that the extractor fan in the lab was emitting a frequency of 18.98 Hz, very close to the resonant frequency of the eye given as 18 Hz by NASA. This, Tandy conjectured, was why he had seen a ghostly figure—it was, he believed, an optical illusion caused by his eyeballs resonating. The room was exactly half a wavelength in length, and the desk was in the centre, thus causing a standing wave which caused the vibration of the foil.“
Okay I didn’t need my eyes to have a resonation frequency but thanks for that, science

All who are interested in the cause of plant diversity, pollinators, and the restoration of ecosystems, please pay attention to the simplest articulation of my advice:
You must seek those who know the ways of the plants and who share the plant agenda
Look for organizations, events and places where these people might be found, and wait for them to appear. Some are from the academic world, many others came to know the plants another way
If someone's email address is publicly available, you can use it to contact them. But the most powerful contacts will be those unreachable by online means
When you find someone, they will tell you the names of other people, so you can seek those people as well. When contacting new connections, tell them who sent you
If you learn to explore your surroundings, recognize the plants, gather their seeds and grow plants yourself, you will be a valued connection
Write down your contacts in a little book and make yourself slightly annoying by offering your service in some way
The plants will teach you the rest...start learning from the weeds, which are easy to know and easy to grow
Over 90% of human knowledge is not written down in any publicly available format. The knowledge you seek is within living people
god I could be so wealthy if I had no ethics. that's so fucking frustrating. I'm living paycheck to paycheck because I'm not grifting vulnerable idiots on TikTok. I feel like I have the ability to very easily scam people. I could make a killing with AI. but god. I have morals and ethics and so I get to be poor as shit. I hate this fucking world
I could have made a killing as a psychic, but noooo I have to feel bad about lying to people ugh
I think abt this all the time because the thing is, evil rich people truly believe that they’re geniuses who have discovered a way to make money that the rest of us dummies haven’t…but the truth is that they are just willing to do evil shit that everyone else would prefer to not to because we have standards
Here's a fun story of malicious compliance to brighten your day:
Until recently, a few people in my office had these desk shades to combat the obnoxious fluorescent lights, which is very helpful for people (like me) with migraines or other light-sensitivity issues.
A few days ago, everyone who has them was told to take them down. Different people were given different reasons - It violates fire code (it doesn't) / It blocks line of sight (sort of?). Since this goes against the existing status quo, the union reps (my beloved) jumped on it. Someone jokingly suggested using umbrella hats instead, since hats are allowed in the dress code. Today, the union reps are passing out these ridiculous things in protest:
If the rules are absurd, the resistance should match.
Arizona 15-week abortion ban struck down by judge after voters approved constitutional amendment making abortion access a fundamental right
"Doctors and women now have the final say about when an abortion should be performed, after a Maricopa County Superior Court judge struck down the state’s 15-week ban following last year’s vote to enshrine abortion rights in the Arizona Constitution.
Two local OB-GYNs and the Arizona chapter of Planned Parenthood took the state to court over the ban late last year. The trio argued that the 2022 law, which prohibited abortions after its gestational deadline unless a patient was facing death or the impairment of a major bodily function, should be struck down because voters in November [2024] overwhelmingly decided to make the procedure a fundamental right via Proposition 139.
Judge Frank Moskowitz agreed, writing in a two-page ruling that the 15-week law is instantly nullified and no one will ever be able to carry out its punishments. The law threatened doctors who violated it with up to two years in prison.
“(The state of Arizona), its respective agents, officers, employees, successors, and all persons acting in concert with each or any of them are hereby immediately and permanently and forever enjoined and restrained from implementing, enforcing, or giving any effect to (the 2022 law),” reads Moskowitz’s order.
The 15-week ban directly conflicted with Prop. 139, because the voter-approved constitutional provisions explicitly allow abortions to be performed to the point of fetal viability, generally regarded to be around 23 to 24 weeks. It also includes a carveout for abortions beyond that point if a doctor deems one is necessary to preserve a patient’s life, physical or mental health.
Abortion rights advocates celebrated the ruling, which has been long-awaited and represents the first win in tearing down Arizona’s many hostile abortion laws. More than two dozen anti-abortion laws remain on the books, including laws that mandate a 24-hour waiting period before an abortion can be performed and forbid the use of telehealth to prescribe the abortion pill. Each of those will likely need to be individually challenged in court.
Dr. Paul Isaacson, one of the OB-GYNs involved in the lawsuit and the co-owner of a private abortion clinic in the Phoenix area, said the ruling restores his ability to offer his patients critical care without worrying about being criminalized for it.
“For nearly three years, my hands were tied because of this cruel ban,” he said in a written statement. “It is a relief to no longer have to turn away patients from essential health care.”"
