My dad used to design kitchens at Lowe’s and one day he got a dude from one of the national labs looking to buy a countertop. Dad sent him home with a sample of a quartz-composite countertop to make sure the color will look good with his existing cabinets. The dude asks my dad what the composition of the countertop is and whether it’ll melt if he puts a pot on it (since it’s a composite and not pure stone) and Dad gives him some rough numbers and reassures him that it won’t melt if he puts a hot pan on the counter. The dude comes back with week later without the sample. The dude gives dad a detailed list of the countertops composition, to the nearest hundredth of a percentile, and the exact temperature it melts at, because he took it to his lab and melted it down. tldr, it’s not just firefighters.

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. The thing about the "trans women are capable of harm" type posts and blogs like transmascvoicesproject is that on a daily basis trans women are told that we are predators, that we are violent, that we have the rape organ, that we solely exist for fetishistic reasons and that makes us dangerous to be around. Society never lets us forget this. Cinema never lets us forget this. Terfs never let us forget this. Political parties on either side of the spectrum never let us forget this. These people post like they live in a world where trans women/transfeminine people are shielded from the consequences of our actions by our identities, but that's a fantasy. We are not only held accountable for our actions, but responses to our mistakes and transgressions are often extremely worse than that of other people. Not to mention, a lot of trans women are lied about, marked rapist/pedophile/abusive by an abusive, transphobic ex, and then isolated and removed from friends groups for the crime of coming out as trans. This is so, so, so common.

We do not need you to remind us we are capable of harm, trust me when I say we fucking know.
