i hate what i am, i wish i could know what it is like to be a normal person.
MDNI BLOG
I have reconnected with a friend from childhood, turns out she was just diagnosed with BPD. We are reconnecting but also talking about childhood, middle school years where I was a terrible friend, the highschool years where we didn't talk and we hated each other. It's hard, really really hard.
every time i get a notification i get a tiny hope maybe it’ll be them.
I’m perfectly aware it never will be but I’m always disappointed when its not them
Sometimes I look at you while you're talking, laughing, eating or just being you and I have this realization that I've never loved someone the way I love you
Chameleon BPD
People with BPD frequently struggle with an unstable sense of identity, often referred to as "identity disturbance". Because being alone or rejected can feel intolerable, this mirroring reflex goes into overdrive, triggering the "chameleon effect". Chameleon effect in BPD refers to unconsciously adopting the opinions, mannerisms, and values of others to blend in. Driven by a fear of rejection, it is an automatic survival mechanism rather than a conscious effort to manipulate. exclaimer!! Chameleon effect is not exclusive to BPD i just wanted to make a flag for it!! :)
