here's a thing i haven't seen people talk about for whatever reason. romance can be a form of abuse. romance can be traumatizing. romance can be upsetting to experience. having romance forced upon you is a form of harassment. having someone repeatedly express romantic interest in you despite you rejecting them is awful and uncomfortable and violating.
something doesn't have to be sexual in nature or intent in order to be a form of harassment. romantic harassment is a real thing. the only reason nobody talks about that is because everyone is just too attached to the idea of romance as an inherent positive to realize that it can and has been used to hurt people.
Someone becoming so infatuated with you that they keep making lovestruck romantic speeches, giving gifts, even declaring their feelings in sappy ways…despite how you actually react to these gestures
Someone so enamored in a tv show that you fully expect the object of their affection to be their spouse by the end of it…even if the person they are helplessly woo-ing clearly isn’t interested or even actively doesn’t like them

Tbh I feel like Penny's design has never looked worse than when she was a flesh person conjuring up fake glass-green swords and projecting green flames from her bare feet.
Like why would they do this? Why did the writers make Penny become a human in the first place? It was completely not needed and just a bad choice that led to nothing but bad things.
Not enough that Penny got shoved into the fridge in the finale, she had to do it while being fetishized through being barefoot for the entire last two episodes.
The worldbuilding and plot powers have been against Penny since the beginning, her existence is a cosmological loophole the writers and gods kept trying to plug.

Have you realized this bit of Remanant cosmology before? Penny and Neo are both examples of life and/or anti-life born without involving the gods, creatively using Aura mechanisms that humans are not supposed to know. They're next phase life forms that should be a part of the future.

As a kid I hung out with a group of kids of varying ages: some younger, some my same age. One of them had an older brother who collected knives. Like, full on wall full of displayed knives. He introduced us to my favorite game: poke your eye out. Rules were that you got the best stick you could find, preferably something sturdy but not too heavy, then use a knife to turn one end into a sharp point, then you threaten people in the other group with your pointed stick and try to stab them without letting the grown ups figure out it was you who caused them to bleed.
