Hello! Welcome to @the-catmans-offical-2 blog!

Primarily what I will post here is art, currently pertaining to a hyperfixation I have, as well as maybe some writings I'll do! I make music occasionally but I'm way too self conscious to post such, the music is basically only instrumentals; I don't sing, after all I can barely speak verbally without stuttering or whatnot.

Here is the art sona I use! It's just a cartoony cat stick figure that can be seen in some of my artworks; Whether it be commenting on certain things, a general doodle out of boredom, or whatever. it had to be kimblee too. it's a necessary part of any hardline pacifist's story to come up against the worst guy ever and still choose principle. anyone less evil would have been worth risking his life for. kimblee wasn't worth it at all. still ed doesn't mind. a lesser story would have made this the turning point where ed learns that he should kill but nope, that's not who he is, this doesn't change anything, the value of a person does not change. he's gonna live with his decision. he knows kimblee's never gonna change he knows his mercy is wasted he knows everyone thinks he's stupid but it's the principle of the thing. and it's the outflow of the action. mercy won't save kimblee but it saved his 4 men. it's a beacon for miles. it saved winry. it can save scar. as soon as 1 person isn't worth it, none of us are because one is all and all is one.

Ed's refusal to go back on his beliefs are what saves him and the world multiple times over.

And it ends up coming back to save Ed!! Because Kimblee gets annoyed at Pride and fights him from the inside, enabling Ed to save ANOTHER life (little baby Selim!) and survive the fight himself so he can be around to defeat Father!!

God i just. Hate this fandom so fucking much.

Mercy/pacifism isn't all good nessicarily, especially when that pacifism comes at the cost of furthering a genocide Edward already turns a blind eye to.

Need I remind the court of how he pretty much shuts down Miles when he speaks about how Armestris' people destroyed his land, genocided his people, his family gone, his culture pretty much annhilated - and Edward's response is "yeah but I don't think we should see color and that our land was harm too!!" When that doesn't equate at all nor does it justify the actions of the military (The genocide, cultural annhilation, land destruction, the tourture and experimentations performed on Ishbalan captives (shown with Marcoh and Knox), and so on.).

But of course, Edward should let Kimblee walk free to save his soul 😇 to allow more harm and death come to Ishbalan survivors during/leading up to the Promised Day. Of course, Edward wouldn't care about that, why should he? He goes to the Ishbalans and accuses them of hating all Armestrians and they have to be the ones saying "not all Armestrians" - he holds his own racist beliefs and he doesn't move past them in order to see that hey, maybe he shouldn't let a mass murderer and one of the big names from the genocide walk free and maybe be. I dont know? The ALCHEMIST OF THE PEOPLE.

He didn't choose principal. He didn't choose mercy, pacifism. He chose to harm. And he continues to do so even through his behavior toward Scar.

Him and Al (who acts out-of-character so extensively with it), are incredibly racist to Scar. Sure, yeah, Scar killed people - but they did deserve it. They weren't a group of people slaughtered for the reason of slaughter, they were state alchemists that either aided in the war, or could potentionally aid in another one should Armestris attempt war with another group of people (YES. ED IS PART OF THAT DEMOGRAPHIC. He's a strong alchemist who clearly does a lot of harm, don't even make me go on the rant about his treatment of Ling.) And commit another mass genocide.

There is no justifucation of Edward's actions, it's just. Stupid.

^ This, this ALL the way. Scar isn't the same as his oppressors and I absolutely hate how Brotherhood makes him side with those oppressors, and only then can he be seen as human (not even really, being used more as a device to further Roy's arc of choosing not to kill Envy (which is crazy to me that Edward chooses to save Envy but still absolutely hate Scar? Regardless of reasoning, to "keep Roy's soul pure" as OP stated in the comments (????), despite Roy having massacured much more women, children, men, and elders.) and for Edward to dunk on constantly.). It irks be beyond belief that Scar gets treated less than human because he goes after the people that killed his family and people, but those same people who did such things get treated like they deserve more chances than a perssistant bear attempting to catch salmon.

Anyone who promotes watching the first few episodes of 03 to then move onto fmab is stupid. I keeo bringing this up but people keep on suggesting it like its the best idea.

03 is completely different from fmab, even down to the first episode. The tone, the plot, the characters, they're all structured in such a way that later development in 03 builds up to! Fmab doesn't have the same character development, growth, and structure to all the characters in the same way as 03.

Even down to the stark difference of Rosé's skin color, its used to represent things that blossom farther in the series (like, within the first 20 episodes - which is generally what people say to watch for 03 before moving to fmab - the war in Lior happens on screen, the events at lab five which are structured highly differently than in fmab, the inclusion of false Philospher's Stone/Red Stones, Roy's attempted suicide, his murdering of Winry's parents as ordered to him by the government, and our learning of what had happened in Ishbal, as well as who we're shown to have participated in the genocide. Theres so much more but this is the basis.)

I've seen people say this about the two series and I cant help but to agree when trying to compare them in this light. Again, remember their tones are different. ;

FMAB is structured to be copaganda, to be for the actions of the government while blaming their actions elsewhere (homuculi), while FMA 03 is more structured to be for the people, against the actions of the government while understanding that each person's actions are their own - theres actually even a scene way later on in 03 where Ed tries to bring up this arguement, that it was the homuculi that made the war in Ishbal and Lior occur, but was shot down by the fact that each of them that had particitated in the war are to blame for everything they had done.

Which leads into development and Ed's understanding in the ending - CoS, the movie - that each of them are to blame for the war around them and that they can't keep acting like the problems around them aren't their own as well and choose to help the situation. He reels in his understanding of a very important plot point in 03 of All is One and One is All, where he understands that everyone has a part to play in things.

To note, this isn't me bashing brotherhood. This isn't me insulting it's story, saying you shouldn't watch it. This is me calling out the stupid, ridiculous but common belief that you need to watch the begining of 03 to get a "better understanding to fmab" or to "better your watching experience". If you do not like the begining of fmab, oh fucking well. Don't use a practically entirely different series to try and make it better if you don't like it. Just say you don't like it, and move on.
