Even putting aside either or not Rorschach from Watchmen is a good or bad person he's not even that good at his job. Yes his hunch about there being a cape killer is right but it's Nite Owl who figures out it's Ozymandias.

All this is accurate excepte there wasn't a mask killer. Almost all the masks that were taken off the picture (or had an attempt to do so) were either killed incidentally (Nite Owl) or because they kept nosing around (The Comedian and Rorschach). All except Doctor Manhattan, whose exile was an actual part of the og plan.

Rorschach's arrogance is that he thinks the big shady conspiracy would be about him and his profession, that's why he hangs on to this mask killer idea. Truth is besides Doctor Manhattan the masks aren't that important to the world, and he can't accept that.
