Spider-Man: MENACE
THANK YOU so many people have stolen/reposted this comic!
amazing would love more menace spidey
I want more superhero content where the heroes do stuff like this :D
I like to think spidey started to flip it and teased it like “oh! Oh! You better stop me! No? *tips more* oh your coffee spilled oh nooo!!” And then set it down upside down right as the cop ran up. The car isn’t destroyed, but like… this is clearly a problem. And all of this would have been avoided if the cop wasn’t being a prick.
correct
UC or ER?
HONESTLY THOUGH
THIS IS BOTH ACCURATE AND EFFECTIVE
Urgent Care is for your "Oh no!" accidents.
Emergency Care is for your "Oh fuck!" accidents.
yeah okay ill reblog that!
I love this marketing campaign so much. Will never get tired of seeing it.
Do you hear it? Do you hear it? Can you hear it?
Horror comedy. Very good.

People once believed that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens that a terrible sadness is carried with it and the soul can’t rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes, the crow can bring that soul back to put the wrong things right. THE CROW (1994) dir. Alex Proyas
Honestly bizarre that tomatoes get all the flack for “not being a vegetable” because they're technically a fruit when:
A) There are a ton of fruits that get categorised as vegetables. Like this also applies to pumpkins, squashes and cucumbers.
B) The fucking mushrooms are standing there at the back of the crowd in this witch trial, trying to look inconspicuous because they somehow got into the vegetable club with no fucking controversy despite the fact that they're not even plants.
"technically tomatoes are fruits--" THAT MUSHROOM OVER THERE IS MORE CLOSELY RELATED TO A FUCKING SHIH TZU THAN IT IS TO LITERALLY ANY PLANT

IS THAT FANART?
it’s a warning
Comparing the rotations of objects in the Solar System. Just look at them lol.✨🪐
To everyone that's confused, the planet Venus rotates very very slowly, with a single revolution taking about 243 Earth days, and Mercury rotates slowly, but not as slow as Venus.
i was like "i wish mercury and venus were still animated tho" and then when i opened it to reblog the image was in starting position with mercury's eyes off to the side and i realized they ARE animated. super slow.
the earth's eyes are drawn in a different place every rotation

One of my favorite recurring gags in Leverage is how Hardison weaponizes the fear people have to actually be called out as racist/homophobic/transphobic and just uses it to its full advantage every time
HE DOES DO THIS AND I LOVE HIM FOR IT
Some favorites:
-Hardison (Black) infiltrates building as janitor in janitor gear, changes into a suit in the elevator, and leaves the building in a suit. Someone (not Black) who saw him in janitor mode tries to question him, saying, “hey, weren’t you the guy cleaning earlier?” at which point Hardison hits them with a “Oh, so we all look the same to you?” 🤨 and walks out the door while they’re spluttering about not being racist
-Hardison and Eliot (white) are at a hospital trying to get in to visit their mark (white). Eliot says he’s the mark’s brother; Hardison says he’s with Eliot. The receptionist tells him sorry, only visits from family. At this point, I thought Hardison was going to say he was adopted (which he is, incidentally, and so is Eliot—in Leverage Redemption we meet his adoptive father, who is Black), but Hardison went in a different direction. He put his hand on Eliot’s arm and said, “No—I’m with him,” and the flustered receptionist let in the supposed brother and his supposed partner.
-arguably my favorite, for personal reasons. Hardison steals an ID to gain access to a guarded door (I think they were anticipating the guard wouldn’t check ID as long as they scanned in okay?). The guard takes a look at it and the woman’s photo it bears and says, “This is you?” Hardison draws himself up and tells the guard that he is a proud, trans man, and the guard is caught out and lets him in.
Hardison uses this skill effectively and well, turns the tables with a glee, and goes to bat for groups we know him to be a part of and groups we don’t. I like to think that even if he is queer that he’d still defend someone else’s community in this way as readily as he does his own. He’s really great and I love him.

I'm so frustrated by the lack of response to the mass psychogenic illness of law enforcement officials claiming to suffer contact fentanyl poisoning. There were a few studies done that quietly concluded that it's not real, none of the cases were credible, and the symptoms most closely resemble a panic attack or somatic episode.
No one is connecting this to systemic issues in police training and culture and no one is treating this as the canary in the coal mine it is.
Modern police training is functionally cult indoctrination, and intentionally cultivates paranoia. Police learn that everyone is out to get them, danger lurks around every corner, and their only job is to make it home alive after their shift.
They then enter the body of police culture, where questioning the bad behavior of fellow officers is at best strictly socially punished and at worst can get them killed, where they are constantly vigilant to say the right things and portray the right beliefs.
Suddenly, after generations of mainstream culture being generally supportive of police, in the midst of an anxiety-riddled pandemic, there is a highly-publicized backlash against law enforcement. Regular people are saying ACAB, calling cops fascists and murderers and wife-beaters. They're posting officers' service records on social media. Police, unwilling to believe they are evil, experience a cognitive dissonance backlash effect and cling to beliefs that contradict reality.
No one should be shocked - and no one should be hesitant to say - that there is a mental health crisis in law enforcement. They are paranoid, hyper-vigilant, and mired in cognitive dissonance. They have guns and virtually unchecked power to enact violence in their communities. Making up delusional stories about fentanyl is a pretty mild outcome compared to what we should be expecting from these circumstances.
Police aren't just bastards. They're a danger to themselves and others.
BTW, for anyone thinking this is an old story, the reason I'm bringing it up now is that it is actively being used to justify denying books, mail, and other documents to people in prison. The entire state of Wisconsin just banned donated books.
Prison staff are having psychogenic episodes they blame on fentanyl, and the response from DOC administration has been to appease and legitimize this hysteria by restricting some of the few freedoms left to incarcerated people. Their reaction should be, "Holy shit, the most vulnerable population in our state is in the care of people who in the midst of a mental health crisis so sever it's causing mass delusions."
People who are hard on yourselves: may I humbly offer you the 100 floors of frights philosophy?
In the SNL David S. Pumpkins sketch, a couple is on a ride called "100 Floors of Frights," where they see a different scare on each floor, and at one point they complain about many of those floors being lame. And then Kenan Thompson delivers this line of deep philosophical wisdom: "Hey look—it's 100 floors of frights, they not all gonna be winners."
My husband and I use this line all the time to give ourselves grace. For instance, I'm a good cook, but when I make a dinner that doesn't turn out well, I will literally say out loud, "It's 100 floors of frights—they're not all gonna be winners," or just "Look it's 100 floors of frights."
It just means when you do a thing a whole lot, there's bound to be some instances that are bad. You don't have to be good at the thing 100% of the time. You can't be good 100% of the time. Some of the 100 floors are gonna suck. It doesn't negate your skill at creating the rest of the 100 floors.
You can use this for anything: art you make, performances, school assignments, days at work, outfits, sex sessions, literally anything that you are too hard on yourself about when it doesn't go great. Listen to Kenan Thompson and remember that it's impossible for them all to be winners, and that's okay.
My husband and I use the phrase this way ALL THE TIME. It's helpful!
can’t stop thinking about this thread i found describing the ds9 cast. like yeah. that’s family.

Sorry I almost forgot my favorite character: Selfcestous Horny Bisexual Polaymorous Dictator who is the alternate universe counterpart of Antifa Terrorist and wants desperately to fuck her.
He’s not Black jesus, he’s Black Moses!! Jesus’ role in christian mythology is entirely different to Sisko’s in Bajoran. Sisko isn’t sent to die for Bajor’s sins or redeem them or anything. He was chosen by the divine to be their messenger and to be the mortal they chose to commune with face-to-face. Sisko’s role is clearly about Moses’ role as the one guy who’s supposed to commune with the divine face-to-face and lead the divine’s chosen people!! Sisko is Moses, not jesus, can we please stop putting everything into christian theology when that’s not what fits or what it is!
When I was younger everyone cared about Talk Like a Pirate Day. Every September 19th it'd be yars and shivers me timber all the way down, and people took delight in it. Now nobody ever talks like a pirate, on that day or any other. So few of us cling to the old ways. This is where our society went wrong. People not talking about pirates once a year, everything else about society is fine, probably
Next year we are so back
Together we can revive the pirate-talker ecosystem
Talk Like A Pirate Day was the pioneer of Silly Meme Holidays, the standard-bearer for many years. But now, in a fast world of Ides of March, MAR10s, and Pi Days, nobody stops to talk like a pirate anymore.
But we can change this. This September 19th, stop being a scurvy landlubber and "walk the plank" of fun! Set a reminder now, possibly on a clock you put inside a crocodile, to save the struggling pirate ecoysystem, yarr. We lost the ninjas. We lost the epic bacons, narwhals, and Flying Spaghetti Monsters. But you can help save a pirate today (if it's September 19th)
(This reminder would be more timely if it was in April, like I always think it is for some reason)
The Day Is Nearly At Hand
Don't open a PM with a stranger with "hello".
1. You sound like a bot
2. You don't give anything to respond to
Try to say something nice and ask questions that the other person can respond to.
I was talking about tumblr but I suppose it also applies to this
Remember Inigo Montoya
I swear even sales person did this to me a few times and they got ignored. Just tell me hello, I am writing in regard to this. I don’t understand how some people think they will not get ignored
I adore this
Whatever she’s getting paid triple it
