I know, right? We knew from Mouse Song that Yeva was "perpetually terrified" of the Soldier and that the Soldier doesn't recall doing anything to cause this fear. Red Fish is when we get to see the fear start, though. And of course he has no idea--he didn't really think anyone was watching him drag back an elk, he wouldn't think anything of getting smacked by Vera, and we'll have to see how much he remembers about the main reason for Yeva's fear. For someone as strong as the Soldier to attack a colleague and do the kind of damage that's done there... It's definitely enough to create a fear response. I'm with you--I feel her. "Moscow's most fearful" makes me cackle, by the way. It's so accurate, lol! Thanks for the ask! I really appreciate it. ^_^

What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening.
