Official ‘terfs get out of my house’ Post
I’m paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD
Thank-you to all of my new Internet stranger friends for being so gracious about having my post shoved onto your dashboards. I loved reading all of your kind tags and comments! Both Martin and Bosco have been gone for several years now but for 24 hours, they felt very present in my life. I greatly appreciate this gift. ❤️
Reblog to have your dashboard be visited by the spirit of joy that death can end but not erase.
Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is “Martin and Bosco Day”. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.
happy donna sheridan unprotected sex day (1/3), everybody!!!

Reblog the snowman to show him the world.
One of the most meaningfull things I did.
Away, my snowman!
let’s settle this shit but do NOT reblog if you’re gonna be modest about it like a little BITCH. anyway privilege check tell me which ones apply to you: hot, funny, can dance, can do math, can spell, can drive, can cook

Important addition
The higgs boson discovery was made possible by AI sifting through data that was estimated to take humans 500 years to go through and with less accuracy.
AI/ML is a tool like any other. It's not a miracle fix for everything, just like how it isn't an evil entity
Getting my big font because I've said this before and I'm getting angy about it:
You need to stop saying "AI" when you mean "generative AI".
You need to stop inferring "generative AI" when you just see "AI".
You are throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Generative AI has its uses too! It’s not all the plagiarism machines that are language models and AI art. Generative AI can be about finding new molecules to try as drugs by analyzing structures likely to trigger the right receptors!
Every time I learn new things about vietnam its like
Americans: “it’s like the vietnamese had some kind of mystery superpower death magic or something”
Vietnamese: “the americans weren’t trained to avoid pointy sticks”
Image description: A four page black and white comic of my tortoiseshell cat, Bunny, complaining that I won’t let her in from the screen porch.
Page 1
Panel 1: A small tortoiseshell cat sits on the other side of a glass door, looking up sadly, saying, “Mama! Mama, help! I’m in the screen porch!”
Panel 2: She scratches at the door. “Mama! Mama I’m trapped! I’m trapped in the screen porch! Mama!” she cries.
Panel 3: She looks through the glass with her sad, innocent expression. “I see you, Mama! Can’t you hear me? Why won’t you let me in? What have I done, Mama!”
Panel 4: The left corner is dominated by a close up of her face, as she reminisces about the cat tree in the screen porch. We see her perched on the very top, looking out over the backyard.
She says, “Was I not grateful enough, Mama? You gave me a throne, here in the screen porch! A place where I could look down upon the world as a god!”
Page 2
Panel 1: While she’s perched atop her cat tree, it begins to rain outside. Bunny looks askance at it from behind the screen.
“But I couldn’t touch it, Mama!” she narrates, now in boxes instead of word balloons, “I could see the rain lavish the earth, but never feel its cool caress!”
Panel 2: A paw rests on the screen. On the other side, two birds chirp, unbothered by the presence of Bunny.
“I could smell the blood of the song birds, but never taste its warmth! I lived as Tantalus in this screen porch, Mama!”
Panel 3: Sitting on a cushioned chair, bunny looks out over the yard, barred from her by the porch screen.
“Tormented by what I could never reach!”
Page 3
Panel 1 : Another reminiscence, this time of Bunny running through the open door to the screen porch earlier that day while I was taking out the garbage.
“And yet I returned, again and again and again! Was that my sin, Mama? Is this my punishment? To be condemned forever to a hell of my own choosing?”
Panel 2: Returning to the present, Bunny looks up from the otherside of the door, her eyes wide.
“Is this what you call justice, Mama?” She says. “Is this what you call love?”
Panel 3: From Bunny’s perspective we see me; I am ignoring her, going about my business. She calls out to me, “Answer me, Mama! Mama!”
Panel 4:I glance back at her, unmoved by her cries. “Mama!” she yells.
Page 4
Panel 1: Pulling out we finally see more of the wall which has the door to the screen porch. Directly beside it is a cat door that goes through the wall, out into the screen porch. Another cat, Bunny’s sister Maggie, is coming through the cat flap with no issue.
I say, “ Bunny, I know you know how to use the cat door.”
Clawing at the window, tears in her eyes, Bunny screams “MAMA!!”
End ID.
I feel like “is this what you call justice, Mama? is this what you call love?” is going to enter my “cats being dramatic” lexicon the same way “you KICK miette?” and “father is…evil?” have.
yeah okay ill reblog that
dreamt there was a disco elysium style game where you play as vegeta on namek. there was a multiple minute skill argument about trying not to piss yourself when frieza goes into his final form, and the line "no warrior would piss himself in fear. a warrior pisses himself as a threat" haunts me
this post still gets notes sometimes and right now all i can think about is vegeta trying to find a cat in the alps
Survivors Pragmatism: Oh sweet Super Saiyan God. We thought it was bad when he transformed the first time.
Saiyan Pride: Still, baiting him into transforming was what a true Saiyan Elite should do, so we did it.
Energy Sensing: WE ARE FUCKED. WE ARE FUCKED.
Great Ape: Yeah, even WE can't win this.
Survivors Pragmatism: Our only hope now is Kakarot, and even that's a massive longshot.
Saiyan Pride: We are NOT relying on that fool!
Bodily Realities: Bladder control is failing.
Saiyan Pride: We are NOT giving Frieza the satisfaction of pissing ourselves in fear!
Bodily Realities: It's non-negotiable.
Great Ape: Urine can mark our territory. We are standing our ground. Asserting our claim.
Saiyan Pride: Now that makes sense. No warrior would piss himself in fear. A warrior pisses himself as a threat.
Yosuke Amemiya
#i like the implication that dali just had that effect on things#just a surrealism field around him at all times
The link in the original post unfortunately leads to a deleted account, so I googled the artist Yosuke Amemiya. And you guys. Those apples are WOOD. That isn’t digital art or some malleable medium like clay or putty. Wood. I’m almost angry at how good they look. Absolute witchcraft.
Some close-up shots from the artist’s website:
mr. amemiya i’m sorry but you have to leave the orchard
Everytime I read Frankenstein, the same line makes me put the book down and stare at the wall. It’s my favorite line in the book; it has its own highlighter color in my annotations. The first time I read it, I literally detoured after my last class just to tell my lit teacher how much I liked the line because I couldn’t wait until second period the next day. Here’s the line:
“Life, although it may only be an accumulation of anguish, is dear to me, and I will defend it.”
This is said by the creature. He wanted to live. He wanted to live life so badly even though he had had such a difficult one. He still loved the song of the birds and the smell of the flowers and the joy in the world even if he never got to truly experience that joy. I just. AHHHH.
He wanted to fight for a life he never got to live.
Like to charge and reblog to cast Chinese scientists destroying the Insulin industry

tbh fuck anyone who says a single bad thing about libraries
Not content I normally reblog but libraries are super important and our world would be diminished without them.
The library was how I was able to read so many books as a kid that my parents wouldn’t have been able to afford.
Libraries are one of the only places on Earth that treats people the same no matter how much money you have. We can’t lose that.

BP did hire PR firm Ogilvy & Mather in 2004, and coined the term 'carbon footprint' as well as creating the 'carbon footprint calculator'. This gave the impression that climate change was primarily the fault of the individual consumers.
From a New York Times opinion piece on carbon footprint (via the Wayback Machine): 'In 2004, BP hired the public relations firm Ogilvy & Mather to improve its image, in part by conveying the message that consumers of oil and natural gas bear the responsibility for their greenhouse gas emissions, not the producers of the oil and gas they use. The result was BP’s ingenious carbon footprint calculator, which allows individuals to calculate the carbon emissions that result from their activities.'
From a BBC Future article on 'how companies blame you for climate change': 'Similar criticisms have been levelled at terms like "carbon footprints" – which was first coined in a 2005 TV advert from BP. The advert appears to show members of the public being stopped in the street and asked what is "their carbon footprint".'
From an Irish Times on individualising blame: 'In 2004, it unveiled a "carbon footprint calculator", so that individuals could assess how much their daily activities were polluting the planet. The marketing campaign, led by Ogilvy & Mather, fostered the false idea that climate change was the fault of individuals rather than fossil fuel companies.'

"some reason" :^)
Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, Fukushima If you can GUARANTEE that nothing even APPROACHING those could EVER happen under ANY circumstances Then I will fold to Nuclear Power
Three Mile Island
NO ONE DIED
Fukushima
NO ONE DIED
Chernobyl
essentially a human-made accident through gross mismanagement and neglect, that physically can't happen with other reactor types (in part because they all have containment buildings now). so yes we can guarantee that nothing even approaching chernobyl will ever happen with modern reactors.
even so chernobyl still killed fewer people than the German Atomausstieg has through increased air pollution because of additional coal being burnt
welcome to team uranium!
Love people using 3 mile island as an example. 3 mile island is an example of where things WORKED, that the failsafes kicked in so only a miniscule amount of radiation was released, which not only didnt kill anyone, but no one was injured, no adverse health effects were caused, and there was no damage to the surrounding environment. Despite the incident, the other reactor continued to run until 2019!
And again: the point isn't "do you prefer renewables or nuclear". The point is "everyone fighting againsy nuclear power has further entrenched coal and oil power and caused a LOT more damage to the environment"
