White Knight Week Day7: Confessions
It’s festival! Good times, vibes, and music all around in Vacou. If there was one thing its people knew how to do, it was not let the fate of the world get to them. Even Jaune himself was happily swaying near an open bar and enjoying the moment. Weiss on the other hand was looking at him from several feet away while Yang rubbed her shoulders.
Yang:You got this! Believe in yourself.
Blake:You know he’s at least had feelings for you before. And with the way you two have been interacting lately, I’d wager it’s still there.
Ruby:That just means the two of you will have more in common.
Weiss:I don’t wanna make things weird. We’re in a pretty good spot right now. What if it’s too soon? Maybe this is a ship passing in the night situation?
Ruby:Do you want me to ask him? I don’t feel like having a repeat of these two.
Blake and Yang:What’s wrong with us?
As the hands of apprehension held Weiss tightly, a mysterious woman came up to Jaune and started talking to him. Suddenly everyone whipped their heads around towards Weiss’s slacked jaw.
Yang:And now the pressure is on. Better-ow!
Blake:*pinching Yang* Don’t listen to her. It’s a festival. It means nothing. He probably helped her on a mission at best.
Ruby:Still, it goes to show you other people think of him. Jaune is pretty cute, reliable, and in times like these, capable. My mom used to say “the best things in life have to know you want it.”
Weiss:Yeah but…now it’s going to seem a bit awkward if I walk over there mid conversation.
Just as she said that, Jaune’s eyes met the group. He didn’t or draw attention to them. Instead his eyes blinked repeatedly.
Blake:Oh he’s not feeling her at all. That’s morse code for help.
Yang:She might be drunk. Weiss, now you can- where’d she go.
She was already over halfway there. With poise and agency, Weiss walked up to the two of them, standing by Jaune and seeing this brunette that smelled of alcohol and scarcely looked like Ruby. Judging by her clothes, she was from here. To Weiss’s dismay, she was also incredibly gorgeous.
Weiss:Hello. Having fun over here? I’m-
Lady:Big hero of the year; at least one of them. I know who you are. Hehe, enjoying yourself. I was just drinking and talking to this tall glass of water. Every drink needs a chaser!
Weiss:Hehe…I know twi people who’d make that joke for completely different reasons- anyways, yes I’m having fun. Just stopping by. Thought I’d chat with Jaune.
Lady:Oh goodness, we have that common; heheheh. He’s funny~ not to mention…*looks up* big.
Lady:Aww, don’t be shy. I saw him lift the side of a jeep up to rescue some people. So kind. Never thought I’d see that with my own eyes. A genuine life saver.
Weiss:Yes, he’s remarkable at his job and character. I know him well. He’s saved my life.
Lady:Oh? I’m jealous. Maybe I should find a riskier job. Would you swoop me up in your arms if I called? *winks*
Jaune:I mean…if you couldn’t walk.
Lady:Well…that would depend on you now wouldn’t it~
Weiss:Please don’t talk to my boyfriend like that. It makes him uncomfortable.
Ruby and Yang:What are they-
Lady:…Oh? Boyfriend? Why didn’t you lead with that!? Hahaha! My bad! Guess I shouldn’t be surprised. A tale of heroes risking life and death across the world. Oh how romantic~ I love that for you.
Lady:Well then, Mr. Hero, you be good to her now. It’s a festival. Dance!
The lady shimmied away as quickly as she appeared. The two of them slowly looked at each other as Weiss realized how she acted just now.
Weiss:I uh…didn’t know what else to say.
Jaune:I get it. Worked like a charm. Thanks, I never really handled situations like that well. Still I never expected to say that. Calling me your boyfriend, now that’s a unexpected.
Weiss:I mean…is it really that crazy? You’re kind, funny, and have been by my side through a lot of insanity. Even back in school you cared enough to look out for me after I was a…little rude.
Jaune:To be fair I was a little annoying.
Weiss:And yet not petty enough to have me alone at the dance. Jaune, you’re…a great person. Someone anyone would be looking for. I don’t think it’s unexpected at all that I…I… *ruffles skirt* want to be with you. Jaune Arc, I like you. And I know that might be confusing and make things complicated but…I don’t know. Maybe saying it would me we-
He was impulsive by nature, deep down. What other kind of person would sneak into a prestigious school? Overtime, Jaune thought he’d gotten a handle on it. He thought after all this time, he wouldn’t act on instinct. What nonsense that was. Disregarding the risk, his arms had held Weiss by the lower back. His strength guided her onto her toes as he leaned down, silencing her with a kiss neither of them expected.
It was brief, as if the moment it started was the catalyst for snapping him back into reality. Jaune immediately leaned away, seeing Weiss look at him speechlessly with wide eyes and flushed skin. Before he could even apologize for his actions, the girls hands grabbed him by the face and pulled him back down for a deep, lasting kiss that made his arms wrap around her body while three girls suddenly screamed excitedly before covering their mouths.
Lady:*walks up* You’re welcome.
Yang:Uhhh, do we know you?
Lady:I cut my hair, show it off, and suddenly I’m a stranger? *puts on designer shades* Better.
Coco:Never a dull moment with your four. Weiss was pinning so loudly I had to intervene. I’ll just send her the bill for my next hair appointment.
Ruby:Wait…you just cut your hair for this?
The fashion diva smiled, flipped her hair with one hand, then walked off into the festive crowd.
Blake:Darn, we’re still not as cool as her. That’s crazy. We have to step our game up.
Ruby:Maybe I should’ve chosen to be her?
Ruby:It was a jooooooke. Seriously though, should I get shades? I’m gonna get shades.
