Literally the most underrated Kanej scene ever is their little precious moment right after Kaz gets his revenge and sends Pekka and his men off in CK. Inej is in disbelief about what Kaz did for a moment, but he assures her that it was a scam. He's pretty much telling her, "I may be a monster to the world, but I never want you to look at me that way."

Then he tells her about shutting down the Menagerie, and Inej smiles. She smiles because it's not only an act for her, it's a salvation for all the girls who are still trapped in the Menagerie. Then she smiles, and Kaz goes: "It was a smile he thought he could die to earn again." It's so so so sweet because normally, you'd see men complimenting their girls when they look clean, posh and elegant. But here? Inej's eyes are swollen, her face is coated with that red dust, and her hair is messy, but still, Kaz loves her and appreciates her for everything that she is.

Then he extends his hand and helps her to her feet and I'm... T_T

I cannot begin to stress how important Alysa Liu is to a sport like figure skating. This is a sport that is rife with abuse and that has silenced women and has forced them to do as they’re told in order to win medals. This is a sport where authoritative figures exercise an immense amount of control over athletes from their childhoods.

Alysa left the sport because of burn out. Because of what she went through. When she came back, she said that she’d skate to whatever music that she wanted. That she’d be in charge of her training schedule. That she’d be able to take a very active role in choreographing her programs and choosing her costumes. Her entire comeback has been about her taking authority over her career. She is in charge of her own career, as it should be. As it should always be.

And she is now the Olympic Champion. Her trajectory is proof that an athlete taking control of their training, of their joy, and of their competitive career is absolutely paramount to success in sport.

in all seriousness though a fandom doesn't die when there's no new episodes or games or "content" to play with and it doesn't die because people aren't as loud as the day it first came out either. if you're still creating then the fandom is alive. if your mutual who has since moved on still reblogs a post about it every four months then the fandom is alive. if there is even one person out there still engaging in, creating for, or just enjoying that show or that game or those characters, then the fandom is alive.

"fresh content" isn't the soul of a fandom. you are.

I hate how female characters never see a moment of peace. ‘Her partner treats her like garbage because it’s a reflection of real life dynamics’ or ‘she was killed off to further and widen his plot’ or ‘she was brutally assaulted to show how low life takes her after her attack as social commentary’. Why are we always a gruesome lesson to be learned or a method for giving some guy a backstory. Can we just for a moment live in a universe where women are safe and loved. I don’t know. Just a thought.
