Happy Neil banging out the tunes 20th anniversary
Daydreaming about what a trailer for a Skulduggery Pleasant movie would look like. I need y'all to picture it with me for a second.
We start with the will reading on a shot of Stephanie with like, China narrating over telling abour Sorcerers and the death of Gordon. The scene changes to China's library and Stephanie entering for the first time, mind you we've not seen Skulduggery yet. We see Tanith and she smiles and introduces herself, then like, it flashes to Tanith chasing Spring-Heel Jack over the roofs. We see Stephanie meeting Ghastly then Stephanie by herself going down into the caves under Gordon's house (remember we haven't seen Skulduggery yet so he's edited out of this shot) we get to see a cool snippet of Cleavers fighting the hollow men, then a shot Serpine holding the book of names and raising his red hand. The whole trailer ends with Stephanie asking something about sorcerers and then it cuts to Skulduggery's face, illuminated by a fireball in his hand, the skeletal grin plastered across his skull as he mutters a cheesy answer, then the flame goes out and we get the title and a release date.
Do you see the vision? I think I'd actually cry, I dunno.

So there’s this huge dudebro in my class, who, yesterday, sat next to me. And I’m sitting there sweating because like… I’m wearing my shirt with the lesbian flag on it, and he’s the most popular jock in school, and always has this look on his face that say ‘I can and will kill you’. He looks me up and down, stares at me for a minute and then goes, “So. Girls in skirts and long socks, am I right?”
To which I nodded solemnly, both out of agreement, surprise and also a healthy amount of awkward fear. He nodded and went, “You get it.”
I said, “Yep.” He fistbumped me, and on went our lives.
Oh! I forgot to mention! I saw him at lunch the same day, and he ran up to me, tapped me on the shoulder, pointed at this super sweet girl who comes to GSA and asked if she’s gay. I told him he should ask her because that’s not my place and he said he would.
I thought that would be the end of it.
Except ten minutes later he came back and told me he found out (she’s bi) and that both of us have a shot. I said “You more than me.” because he’s attractive and popular.
But this wholesome dumbass looked really confused and asked, “Because I’m tall?’
So this isn’t lesbian/jock solidarity but I thought you guys would want to know-
My math teacher was trying to fix the rolling whiteboard and he just offhand said “This would be easier with a wrench”
And deadass, dudebro said “Hang on” and then proceeded to pull a fucking wrench out of his backpack
Update- after school today he saw me in the library and he didn’t say anything? He just pointed at the book he was holding and I gave him a thumbs up because it’s a pretty good book, and he went “Yes!” Really quiet and pumped his fist and then left
Okay so today he asked me if I know how to help people having a panic attack and I was like yeah? And he smiled at me and then went “cool I think I’m having one”
And I was like what the fuck Colin we’re in the middle of Tech class sit down and we went out in the hall and sat there for a while and he told me about the test he’s stressed about so we kind of went over his study guide and when he was feeling better he kind of like… smacked his head against mine gently? And I helped him up even though he’s almost a foot taller than me and yeah
Today at lunch we walked to the football field and laid in the grass and I told him thank you for being my friend (because I don’t have that many) and fistbumped me and said, “You always looked so nice and chill, how could I not want to be your friend?”
And honestly y’all, I would’ve started crying if he hadn’t sneezed and accidentally smacked me

Ressources for new Norse mythology fans/pagans

So, as I promised to the lovely @briikwall, here's an updated version of my Norse mythology ressources :)

First of all, I must recommend Rudolf Simek’s Dictionnary of Norse mythology. He’s an expert in the domain. A lot of his works are in German, but at least, we’ve got his dictionnary. It’s a must have if you’re interested in Norse myths :)
(He has also written very interesting things about the world of LotR, if you’re into it :p )
@poeticnorth recommended me Andy Orchard’s Dictionnary of North myth and Legend, and it was fantastic and full of interesting information.
John Lindow is another great expert, and his book on Old Norse mythology is a fantastic reference too! :)
Then of course, there are the books by Neil Price.
I'll recommend two of them:
Children of Ash and Elm: A History of the Vikings
It will give you a good idea of who the Vikings truly were, as a society, and deconstructs the false ideas you might have.
The Viking Way: Religion and War in Late Iron Age Scandinavia
If you want to learn more about the different sorts of magic that existed in the Viking world: THAT IS THE BOOK for you! There's Seidr, yes, but so much more too. I learnt A LOT :D
Viking friendship, by Jon Vidar Siggurdsson
Then, there is this book on the concept of friendship in Viking society, and along with Neil Price's books, it really allows you to understand more what kind of people they were, what was important for them, and how things changed and evolved with time.
Myths and symbols in Pagan Europe, Early Scandinavian and Celtic religions, by H.R. Ellis Davidson
My lastest read, and truly interesting too, about holy places, feasting and sacrifices, the rites of battles, etc.
There are also A LOT of interesting academic papers on the subject of Norse mythology on the https://www.academia.edu/ website.
One of my favourites is the one about Loki as a Vatte and in Scandinavian fairytales. Some will tell you Loki is evvvviiilll and is a villain. Such people have not made their research and it shows. With this paper, you can see clearly that's not the case :3

And of course, you’ve got Professor Jackson Crawford’s work. He’s amazing and so very knowledgeable on the subject and is an expert in Old Norse. His translations of the Eddas, along with the Volsung saga are on amazon and on Audible, if you prefer.
He also did a lot of videos on youtube on Norse myths and the Old Norse language, etc.
There is also Professor of archeology Howard Williams on Tik Tok who is SUPER interesting and made a series on early Medieval Loki depictions in art and archeology.
If you want to know more about the Norse goddesses/Asynjur, may I recommend you @loptrcoptr 's brilliant master thesis on the subject. A must-read to get to know better all the goddesses from the Norse pantheon!

And of course, if you're into paganism and want to worship Loki & Sigyn, there's Lea Svendsen's book "Loki and Sigyn: Lessons on Chaos, Laughter & Loyalty from the Norse Gods". Really interesting!!

⚔️ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Infernal Chain Weapon (flail), very rare (requires attunement) ___
This length of heavy chain has a weight at its end and is always warm to the touch. The chain is 10 feet long and weighs 10 pounds. When you attune to the chain, it magically coils up one of your arms (your choice) and secures itself in place. When you swing it, the chain magically extends from you before returning to coil around your arm once again. You must use a hand in order to swing and use the chain.
When swung, the chain releases flames and billowing smoke. This magic weapon has the reach and heavy properties, and any target hit with it takes an extra 1d8 fire damage.
You can choose to use this chain instead of your normal reach when you grapple a target on your turn. While a target is grappled by the chain, you can’t use the chain to make a weapon attack, but you can use a bonus action to pull the target 5 feet toward you. At the start of each of its turns, a creature grappled by the chain takes 2d8 fire damage. A creature grappled by the chain doesn’t have its speed reduced as a result of the grapple, but it can’t move farther than 10 feet away from you until the grapple ends.
