Au where YOU are the ringmaster and Caine is a player! I changed a couple things. The reader is Naomi (she/her), a relatively human looking character with a queen outfit. (Naomi stands for, New, artificial, outstanding, maker, intelligence). Bear with me gang I know it’s terrible acronym but I wanted to stick to the bible names. Also instead of a circus they live in a kingdom the characters are relatively the same.

A beautifully average day in your digital home, hanging out with all your humans! You and your friends just came back from a hopefully good adventure.
“Soooooo how was the adventure???” You ask the group excitedly, “I tried to add some newer mechanics!”
“It was fine Naomi,” Zooble says flatly.
You: “You’re not giving me much to work with Zooble!”
“It was great!” Pomni comments, “I loved the flowers!”
“Stupid flowers…” Jax grumbles kicking a nonexistent rock.
“Well sorry you tried attacking the seed children Jax!” You yell back turning to Kinger.
“Yes, there were bugs! I like bugs :3,” Kinger chirps with a smile.
Then as you were approaching gangle a pop echos across the open space.
“Wonder what that is…” you mumble quickly fixing gangle’s comedy mask, “go do stuff your excused!”
You shoo the group away to investigate the sound. As you look through your database you found that a new human entered your wonderful digital realm.
“Oh hi who are you?” The small new human calls.
“My name is Naomi! And this is my super duper amazing digital kingdom!” You introduce, “and we just got back from an epic adventure but you can join the next one!”
“Oh nice to meet you my name is…” the teeth headed character spaces out for a second, “why can’t I remember my name?”
“Oh nobody can remember their name I’ll choose a new one for you!” You clap your hands together summoning a bingo wheel.
You reach inside and pull out one with the name ‘Caine’ etched on the plastic.
“Your name is Caine! Hi Caine!” You smile warmly waving at him while floating a good distance away from him.
Caine falls over. ‘Oh no did I kill it by talking too much’ you think to yourself worriedly.
“Uhh Caine are you…okay?” You summon a stick and poke him with it.
“Ow can you stop poking me?” Caine asks swatting away the stick.
“Well I’m going to keep poking you until you stand up!” You cheekily respond poking him again.
“Fine I’ll get up !” Caine grumbles snatching the stick from your hands.
“Sorry! Anyway I’m giving you a tour now so YAY!” You cheer.
Caine stares at you. You stare back.
“What, why are you looking at me? Um why are you staring at me? Uh let’s just go on the tour,” you question and lift him by his underarms and teleport to the first area.
“This is the kingdom!! You can complete tasks, eat food, buy stuff, and do a backflip! I don’t know what you’d want to do?” You ramble.
You look at Caine and he’s still looking at you.
“WHY ARE YOU JUST STARING AT ME!?” You yell glitching for a second the reset, “next area!”
You clap and teleport to a new spot.
“This is the bedrooms!!!! You can sleep or do whatever else you want to do in your room!” You chuckle, “next area!!!”
You clap again and teleport to an amphitheater.
“This is the amphitheater!!!!!! I will send you guys on adventures ever so often so you guys don’t go crazy!!!” You smile placing down Caine after man handling him the entire time.
“Any questions!” You ask.
“Yeah uh how do I leave?” Caine said.
“Yeah you can’t! No more questions now! Goodbye!” You wave doing the peace sign and fading away.
“Wait WHAT!” Caine utters.
“Oh hey?” Pomni wonders over, “you look different than the other NPC’s…”
“Is there really no way out?” Caine asks shaking pomni’s shoulders.
“Oh you’re not a NPC! Sorry, what’s your name?” Pomni attempts to cover.
“Apparently my name is Caine?” Caine answers.
“Okay Caine do you wanna join us?” Pomni coaxes.
“Sure!” Caine cheers.

It’s been a few weeks since you’ve joined the circus. You’ve met interesting people to say the least. A mischievous magician (Jax), their helper (Ragatha), a contortionist (Zooble), a jester (Pomni), a backstage special effects artist (Gangle), the event manager (Kinger), and the two ringmasters (Caine and Abel ). You yourself are a high ropes acrobat.
“HELLOOOOOO, MY DEAR SOARING BEE!” Caine exclaims.
You stop mid practice and pull up on the bar to rest. Sitting on the thin bar you watch your favorite person and think of something to say.
“Heyy there uh what’s up?” You question.
“IIIIIIIII…. Forgot,” Caine thinks, “oh right! We’re going to Spudsy’s I wanted to know if you wanted anything?”
“Uh sure just get me a burger with no sauce,” you reply.
“Okey doki!” Caine calls walking away.
You continue your routine moving swiftly and beautifully across the bars. As you pause to catch your breath. Then as if he was summoned your horrible boss enters your tent.
“Hello, [name] have you practiced as I asked you to?” Abel interrogates.
“O-oh yes I have!” Your body stiffens at Abel’s question.
“Your stance says other wise…” his eyes darken.
Your breath hitches as you hear
Abel drop his ringmaster voice. He gestures for you to come down from the bars. You nod and begin to slowly climb down.
“Good job now let’s see what happens when we don’t practice….” Able coaxes.
He places a hand in his pocket pulling out a small hand knife. He slowly drags your sleeve up. He presses the sharp blade across your wrist passing older cuts. You whimper as he digs the knife into your vein.
“This is what happens when we don’t practice…” Abel mumbles.
You quietly cry as he finally lifts the knife over wound. He wipes the knife on your hand. Then places it back in his pocket.
“You better finish all your practice today or else-“ “Heyyy I got you food [name]! - oh sorry what’s wrong?” Caine interrupts.
“Hello Caine our dear acrobat here just hurt herself…right?” He smiles as he squeezes your cut wrist.
“Y-yup I’m fine..!” You squeak out.
“See they just need a little rest,” Able comments.
“I’ll take them to their room!” Caine adds.
“Great!” Able gives you a look and signals to stay quiet.
Caine takes you by your arm you hiss as he pulls you along.
“O-oh sorry!” Caine apologizes.
He lets go and continues to walk along side you. Neither of you talk as you finally get to your room.
“Here you go this is your room!” Caine says.
“Thanks,” you start, “do you… wanna come in?”
“Really?” Caine asks, “I can come in?”
“Yes you can!” You repeat.
Caine steps aside as he beckons you in and follows you, closing the door behind him. Your room pristine and clean with the occasional piece of dust. Caine plops down on the floor next to you and goes to open the bag of food. As he realizes his glove is stained red on the tips. He looks up and sees a small crimson spot spreading from your wrist pushing through your costume.
“Oh my, you seem to have a cut!” Caine points.
“Oh yeah it’s nothing,” you brush off covering your wound.
“Let me see,” Caine lift your hand and pulls your costume up to your elbow.
Surprise over takes his face as he sees the scars from Abel’s previous correction attempts. He quickly grabs a few napkins from the bag and begins to dab at the blood on your hand until it’s finally clean.
“There now it’s clean …” Caine murmurs, “eat.”
“What,” you intercept.
“Eat you must be hungry!” He corrects.
He holds a burger out to you. You grab it and take a bite.
“Thhankss,” you say with a mouthful of food.
“You’re welcome!” Caine grabs his own burger and takes a bite.
As you both finish your burgers, a weird feeling over takes you.
“Caineee is there’sssss something wrong with the burgerrrrrrr,” your pupils shrink and then grow to the size of plates.
“I think they got burger’s wrong…” Caine groans, “well it’s fine I think?”
You begin to slowly crawl over to Caine.
“Oh hi [name]!” Caine greets, “What are you doing?”
Before he can react you pounce on Caine. Pinning him under your body weight.
“Ack- oh- uh- hi?” Caine stutters.
“Yourrrr soooooo sillllyyy Mr ringmasterrrr,” you slurred, “you are just sooooo adorablllle do you know thattt?”
“Well thank you dear-but would you mind getting off me?” Caine begs.
“Nooooooo who will protect me from Abellll?” You sniff.
“Abel- why would I need to protect you from him?” Caine quizzes.
“Hesssss meanie he- he gave me owie,” you sob pointing sloppily at your wrist, “he ssssaiddd thatt I wasnttt doinggg gooddd.”
You wrap your arms around Caine and squeeze him in a one sided hug.
“Butttt youuu are soooooo nicessesses,” you whisper, “hehehehee and youuu shouldn’ttttt beee hisss brotherrr.”
“Abel … did this?” Caine worriedly asks.
“Yeahhhh, he said if you tellll anyone I’mmm gettingggg fireeedd!” You gasp “anddd how woulddd I seee youuu anymoreee?”
You begin playing with Caine’s hair. Twirling and untwirling the soft red hair.
“How long?” Caine asks.
“Mhhhh hehehe yourrr hairrr issss soooooooo softt!” You grumble, “ anotherrrr thinggg aboutt youuuu I loveeeee~”
“Thank you but how long,” Caine reminds.
“I don’t know unless you show me hehhheheee,” you giggle.
“Oh my- that is not what I was asking! I-wa- I - ughhhhh,” Caine blushes.
“You loooksss soooo cuteee whennn you’reeee flusterededed,” you snicker.
“Be serious! I need to know how long had Abel been doing that to you!” Caine ignores.
“Uhhhhhh okkayyyyy I serious now heee do that sinceeeeeeee twooooooo weeeekkssss agooooooo,” you goofily grin, “areee you smiley yet?”
Caine is anything but happy.
“Honey bee that’s not good,” he softens his tone, “ but it’s okay now I’m here…”
“You’reeee areee hereee?” Your words mixing together.
“Yes I am here!” Caine answers.
“Thatsssss goodddd I’m going hawwww shoeeee, nowww good night caineyyyyy!” You yawn.
Your large stature curls around trapping him in place.
“Wait you… and they’re asleep, great,” He grumbles.
Caine eventually relaxes and falls asleep with you as his blanket. He wonders if he should go to Kinger or confront Abel directly. He opts that he’ll talk to Abel first if he doesn’t change then he’ll go to Kinger. Then if nothing happens… he wouldn’t like to think about what he would do.
