If you ever wonder what haveing adhd is like, it's deciding to remove the sponge from your liquid concealer relise oh shit this won't stop leaking now I'm gonna out it in the container of conecler I broke open becuse I was curious how to get it open and then go oh dam I have two other concealers that are far to orange and I never use so I'm now gonna clean them out and pour out the concer into a plastic bag and use it like frosting into the new clean tubes... Relsied that not working quick enough and then decide I'm just gonna funnel it in and hope I don't make a mess then relise... I show have just clean out the two orange tubes and twisted the product into the tubes directly... Once your done and then go back to just doing every day things.

But it's stupid shit like this that I just need to do and then I go back to normal people think adhd is oh shit squirrel no babes it's omg I found a metal ball let's try doing that paint thing, doing it okay cool now going back to cleaning.

I think Kaz Brekker is autistic

- Kaz has many hyperfixations/special interests. Magic, lock-picking, and honestly I would even consider his meticulous plans and schemes as hyperfixations to an extent.

- Socially detached, he struggles with/doesn’t care about social rules, standards, or small talk. (ex: extremely blunt, isolating himself from his own crew [the dregs], etc)

- Tends to be very literal

- He has very set rules in his mind about how people are and how society as a whole acts. (He struggled to believe that a father couldn’t be loving, he believes every single person has the same motive and drive for money and self-interest.)

- Routine is Kaz’s best friend

- He is like always stimming (ex: whenever he’s stressed he flexes/stretches/curls his hand up, twirling his cane, tracing the crow head on his cane, rolling coins, running hand through hair, etc)

But of course these are just the mundane things and I could be over analyzing

Similarly, I read Kaz as ADHD. Sometimes Audhd, sometimes not.

There’s so much overlap between the two things though, it’s ridiculous. I just don’t see him actually interpreting things literally very often. He’s very dissembling in social settings, I think he understands implicit jokes, threats, and social cues infamously well. I feel like I don’t read him as literal so much as deadpan joking.

And I see him mostly motivated by constant urgency, risk, or novelty. That and the rumination are my main urge to ADHD him. He does most things because they are either for survival (urgency) or an extreme project (taking on new jobs, fights he does not need to join, expansions, disguises, etc). And because his brain whirrs too much to sit back and pretend he knows how to calm down.

Similarly, this is also a biased analysis/headcanon that people can throw out. Live your lives, guys. But yes I feel like this man has dipped his toe in what we now may label several spectrums.

Like this mans two options when he sees a kid is to tell her hey I'm gonna murder your dogs if you don't go to bed and be quiet becuse otherwise he has to snap her neck and make it look like an accident. Like bro thinks in black and white sometimes

Also he has such a strong sense of justice, first of all jordie death he literally spent his whole life building up a whole character and empire just to get justice for jordie, when he took out omens eye and then throw him over board, when he threw smeets I think his accountant over a light house after he tried to offer kaz a girl at the menagerie, kaz with pekker and I'm sure there's other examples but kazs way of justice is extreme while many argue it's unjustied to kaz it is so justified becuse they have done something he perceived as wrong and so he must fix it.

I know he has hetaphobia (I can't spell) but also his lack of wanting contact is such a common thing with autism as someone who is austic I love Conact personally when I'm the one to initiate it, and I personaly think kaz does want Conact on his own terms but his touch issue is preventing him from even being aloowed to indicate that contact.

Like the op said kazs hyper fixations and obsession over magic tricks and sights of hands.

Kaz has a back up plan for everything and so when he ends up losing inej in crooked kingdom I think he was more pissed over the fact he wasn't in control then the fact he had been lied to (of course and loosing inej) becuse it states he was more irritated and aggressive and this could be becuse he was stressed out and out of control.

Also like op says kazs cane I'm pretty sure when kaz had to give up his cane in the ice court he said soemthing about missing it becuse of his leg but it's also could be a comfort item to regulate him self on becuse it's familiar it's grounding and comforting
