Some ya’ll who are younger need to google Frank Serpico and read about his time in the NYPD and what the cops did to him and attempted to do to him up until the late 90′s. He literally had to go into hiding in Italy and Switzerland and multiple times people tried to kill him. He only came back to America after the mafia (who hated the NYPD a lot, obviously) said “you’re under our protection.”
Damn, NYPD is so bad, Mafia started protecting good cops
I was a police officer for nearly ten years and I was a bastard. We all were.
👆Really really good article by the way. Feels like a good piece to show to folks you know who are still on the fence about things like police or prison abolition. Plus the pseudonym the author uses is hysterical, and he's really quite a good writer.
extremely good article, please read it. at the very least read the "how to be a bastard" section, it outlines a lot of the ways cops will try to trick you
Yall know that meme where its like "the guy that tried animal milk for the first time explaining what he was doing with that cow" I think that meme becomes funnier when you remember mammals produce milk when they are pregnant
So this hypothetical historical figure has to explain what he was doing which might feel like that guy that drank dog piss because he thought it would give him more testosterone
hey remember when people said we gotta keep talking about this and then two days passed and it just went quiet. anyways
due to recent (and frankly ongoing as far as this website is concerned) events

I’ve come to the realization I don’t like the GO3 ending bc it got rid of their religious trauma and that’s half of what drew me in. It made them so much more complex and relatable in so many ways. The angel who deceives in a thousand ways (lying to god, magic tricks/illusions, and disguises galore), and the demon who only ever sought the truth. It makes sense their story ended the way it did. They didn’t have to become human, though. The fact they were so human despite not being a part of humanity was a part of their charm. It’s a sweet ending, don’t get me wrong, but they shouldn’t have been human.
The ending of Good Omens season 2 makes a lot more sense when you remember that:
A) In the Bible forgiveness is an act of love
And
B) Crowley believes that because he’s a demon he’s unforgivable
This whole time Aziraphale was trying to show Crowley he loves him and that he doesn’t just view him as a demon, even if he’s struggling to reconcile these beliefs with how he sees Heaven.
When Crowley says he’s unforgivable because he’s a demon, Aziraphale thinks he’s saying he’s unlovable, although he disagrees with this, he still has some faith in Heaven so that he can’t argue with the nature of being a demon.
When he’s offered this position in Heaven he sees the opportunity to reconcile his old beliefs with his new ones, and show Crowley that if he doesn’t want to be a demon he can fix the system and prevent others from feeling what he did.
Crowley thought Aziraphale wanted to change him, Aziraphale thought that was what Crowley wanted all along.
When Aziraphale told Crowley he forgave him after the kiss he meant he loved him, while Crowley took it as Aziraphale being so self-righteous he couldn’t see that he’d hurt him.
Also adding onto this- Aziraphale offering to make Crowley an angel again is defying what god wanted originally. He sees Crowley as good, aka going against what God thought. The ultimate act of defiance. Loving what god deemed unloveable, even when he believed there was still good in god.

Fun fact: if you, as an adult, tell miserable children that their youth is the best that life will ever be, and that it's all just downhill from there, there's a percentage of them who will hear this and think "well, I guess I better kill myself before that happens." And a certain percentage of those will proceed to do that and succeed.
Anyway what I'm saying is that any time you feel tempted to say that, you should instead consider shutting the fuck up. Just because you peaked at 16 doesn't mean anyone else did. Most peoples' lives get better than that.

I think more men should take offense to "boys will be boys". Like if you want yell "not all men are like that!" at somebody, please take it to that situation. Fucking get offended when someone justifies their little shit acting like a spectacularly evil little monster by saying it's normal because their child is male.
Stop letting shitty parents excuse their shitty kids' shitty behaviour by implying that being violent, cruel, disruptive and incapable of functioning in a society is somehow an inherent male trait that cannot be helped.

actually, "autism is a huge part of who i am and i'm proud of it" and "autism is a disability that requires accommodations" are both true statements that can and should coexist
