So it’s always very hard to ask for help but I’ve learned it’s ok to go to community for support.

it’s been some months since both my mom and grandma died two weeks apart, then I was laid off of work shortly after returning due to the pandemic, and the pandemic financial assistance ends this week.

I live in New York where my rent is $2600 and my roommate’s hours were cut and landlords are not cutting anyone any breaks. I’m coming to community to ask for help-if anyone has a bit of money to spare, it would be very appreciated ☺️

see, Lake Baikal really isn’t a lake at all, it’s a deep rent in the earth’s crust called a Rift Valley that just happened to get water in it. and the Baikal rift is one of the deepest and narrowest on earth, making this deceptively placid lake slightly over a MILE deep! that’s bonkers nutso.

i just had the funniest experience in vr chat, i joined a random server and the one i joined had Japanese people so i waddled around in my goofy club penguin avatar that i have saved, after a while a guy walks up to me and clones my avatar so were both penguins then another guy shows up and clone my avatar

now keep in mind there only speaking Japanese i don’t know what they are saying, then another guy joins in, so i got a group of three penguin friends

we just waddle around and goof about, the one of them tries to talk to me, but not only do i not have a mic i also don’t speak Japanese, they figure out i don’t speak Japanese and start listing various places, they get the part of being European right, and after listing a lot of places they ask if im from the UK and when i nod they all just start cheering. after hanging out for a while one of them gets real close to me and whispers…

If you do not recognize from the combination of “Toph” “Zuko” and “life-changing field trip” that this is about the popular aughts children’s cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender, you are not the target audience of this post. But if you were curious you could have used the energy you spent making sure I’d see this checking what it was tagged – or better yet Googling either name, because they are one of a kind fantasy names made up for the show.

There was an arrest across the street from my place in Oakland one day – three cop cars with a bullhorn and guns out – and before I could even get out the gate there were a couple people posted up and one of them was filming and another one was narrating in a calm but very loud voice, just

and that was something I hadn’t thought to do before. It certainly let the cops know what the narrative of eye witnesses was going to be.

I especially liked “his hands are empty” because this statement would still be true and a witnessed reason the police should not become violent even if it turned out he had a weapon on his person somewhere.
