Just finished Pt58 of Malevolent podcast. And oh wow, the 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ allegories are powerful within this one.

Also Harlan please kiss the brick before throwing it at my face.

The trans allegories is strong within John’s development as a character. But I feel like Arthur’s quote of:

“Don’t force yourself to be something you are not. Or that you are not, any longer…I support you. I cannot tell you what you want to be, all I can tell you is I care about you and that I want you to be yourself.”

Can also be relevant to neurodivergent people masking and trying to “be something [that they’re] not.” I mean obviously there’s a lot of overlap between neurodivergent to be queer, because I think it’s like statistically more common. I like how in Malevolent the central theme is identity is that a person can do bad things but that doesn’t excuse your actions. But a person is not wholly just evil because of the bad things they do.
