I think itâs stupid when people bitch about how woman are drawn
I think itâs really freaking stupid whenever I hear or see women (or men, I just see it most often from women) going on a tirade about how women are portrayed in things like comics. What might be worse than senseless bitching is when the senseless bitching turns into an essay set up with their research like it was a goddamn thesis about how straight men do these horrible things in the media like draw bewbies and give Wonder Woman a nice ass.
Personally, I like the way women are portrayed. It appeals to me. I also draw women like that. Comics was part of where I first started developing my style. I draw men like that, too. Why? Because I like men that look like that. Maybe Iâm pervert or the kind of person some woman out there will scorn as part of this problem they perceive. Why is it wrong to cater towards your interests. Perhaps the artist likes the way his or her characters looks and that is why he draws them the way he does.

I donât see a problem with the way women are made to look in comics, cartoons, video games, etc. but apparently Iâm either the minority or most women who think along the same lines as myself are keeping quieter than those of us who feel differently - I canât say for one way or the other because Iâve seen some women raise hefty complaints about social justice pandering in video games making the bewbies smaller. (poor Morrigan. Giving birth isnât supposed to make them smaller)
It was also a female game journalist who went on about how she didnât agree with this for another reason. Whatâs wrong with having women with larger breasts? Does their bodies offend you? Itâs no different than having a female character shown with a smaller chest or a figure that was smaller or larger than average. Is it because you think âWomen donât look like that!â or that theyâre too sexual? Hereâs a bit of news for ya, women do look like that. They also come in bigger sizes, smaller sizes, different shapes. When you scorn the appearance of women in comics and games like that for their appearances, what does it say about the real women out there who share that appearance. This was Liana Kerzner who made the argument that I had to agree with. What about my figure or hers is wrong for a female character in media to have? Are women who look like that profane and catering to menâs interests? Is the form of their bodies subjugating to the sexualized manâs world and designed for his fantasies?
   Is there something wrong with her having a body like this?
               Do her boobs offend you?
I mean, Iâm no wonder woman - still working off the last bit of padding around my waist from a few months of too many breweries and not enough exercise - but Iâd always been proud of my figure regardless of whether I could feel my gut jiggle when I ran. Seeing the prominent curves and tightly muscled figures of women in comics didnât make me resent them for looking better. I wanted to be like them. Rather than hating my body, I loved it, loved it enough to want it in the best condition it could be in. I dream of looking like wonder woman. I want the tight muscles. I want the powerful thighs of Chun Li. Why? Because I think they look BADASS.
But thatâs me. Maybe some people think the look too beefy, prefer their women with slimmer legs. Some people like less weight on the chest or a softer touch than all those muscles. They can draw women how they prefer.
You hear that? Let me repeat it for you-
YOU CAN DRAW WOMEN THE WAY YOU WANT TO.
There you have it. If a man or woman wants to draw woman like this, then itâs their art. They have that choice. If people like it and it sells, then they like it and it sells. If they donât, then they can keep trying or try something different. All the same, anyone who likes differently can do differently. Iâve seen people draw art of all skill levels and get commended for their skills or their efforts, their creative styles and their âcreative stylesâ. This is someoneâs art. This is how they choose to portray a character.

HAVE ANY OF YOU SEEN SOME OF THE WAY MALE COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS GET PORTRAYED?!?!
And, yes, the Constitution is what he is choosing to read on his beach trip.
Iâve seen comics of woman who carry more weight on their frame, ones that were considered too short, too tall, or too beefy. Itâs all been done. Just because it isnât setting the stage on the cover of a DC comic doesnât mean it isnât there.
Like with most things, if you donât like it, you donât have to read it.

And I wish society wasnât filled with stupid people, but we canât all get what we want. You want to read comics, then read ones that appeal to you. But you want to read those comics, the ones with tiny waisted woman and their big tattas? Then suck it up and quit whining about it.
