Y'know, I dislike AI art and hate the concept of DC and Marvel or other similar visual arts based companies ruining industries by getting into it. It'll happen, and it'll suck.
But I am fucking terrified of AI being used as a management tool for things like welfare or disability systems man.
Shit like this already kind of happens:
The federal government's $475 million compensation to Robodebt victims may do little to alleviate the "pain and anguish" for those who lost
That is, the Australian welfare dept. implemented an automated system that falsely flagged a lot of welfare recipients as in debt to the welfare dept., often to the tune of more money than these people had seen in their lifetimes, but because being in debt means your payments are cut off until the debt is settled $10, 000, 000 and $1, 000 were functionally the same for a lot of these people. It drove a lot of 'em all the way into absolute poverty and many to suicide.
Then you see stories stating that future disability claim assessment will be "AI assisted," or that AI will be used to calculate how much funding disabled people will receive on the disability system,
Exclusive: NDIA defines machine learning as a subset of AI that uses algorithms to learn from data and make decisions or predictions
and it's like, oh!
Oh they're going to murder people through poverty and they're going to blame a robot for it to escape legal consequences.
And then finally, you see all these fucking ghouls acting like, "oh but AI allows people with no hands to create pictures when they otherwise wouldn't have been able to hold a brush." Man
Oh my god

Random old finnish folklore I recall reading: The reason you have to close someone's eyes after they die, or cover their eyes with a cloth if you can't, is because the spirit of the newly passed is still in the body and even though it can't move the eyes anymore, it can still see. You must avoid making eye contact with the dead body, because the soul of the newly dead is scared to go alone, and is looking for someone to come with them. If you lock eyes with the corpse, you will be the next to die.
...So is the second corpse still hazardous, then, or are they fine since they have the first one for company?
I must confess I don't really know about the more exact details of the undead buddy system.
Time loops strike again 😔
No??? 18 years of time loop obviously 🙄

Hey, if anyone’s curious, this IS making a serious impact — this handbook was taught as standard practice for my EMT license course, as well as several other programs. A lot of new providers are being taught this as a matter of course.
