enemies to lovers but its not "who did this to you?" but its "I did this to you" bc damn in the moment it felt necessary but the cuts weren't supposed to be that deep. the lashes should have faded by now, right? why are they still limping? make your characters self reflect. burden them with guilt and regret :) imagine laying in bed with the person you grew to love, only for them to roll over in their sleep and for you to see the nettled scars you inflicted on them
Do you think Dick feels uncomfortable when Peter mentions the Richard from his universe?
He loves Peter, even with all this complicated multiverse stuff and interdimensional travel.
But when he hears him casually mention his counterpart from his universe, he can't help but wonder: what if things had been different in his life?
The Peter he knows clearly didn't know who Batman was, much less Bruce Wayne, when he met him, and he clearly had no idea whether or not his dad was a vigilante.
And then he hears him say these things—natural answers to his questions and random comments about things that remind Peter of his past.
"My dad used to call me Robin."
"My dad taught me parkour. It was so much fun when I was a kid."
"My dad loved eating cereal. Whenever he couldn't sleep, we'd go to the kitchen and eat a huge bowl of it."
"Haha, my dad didn't like using public transportation either."
"My dad loved this song."
Dick knows that Peter doesn't do it on purpose; he only mentions it because it all seems very familiar to him, because Dick seems very familiar to him.
And that makes Dick wonder, what would have happened if things had been different? And Dick hates it because he knows that asking that kind of question is pointless, but there they are in his mind, every time he passes by, along with the proof of how his life could have been if he had never become a vigilante.
He could have had another life, a son to care for and love, someone to teach the acrobatics and tricks his parents had taught him, someone to take to school listening to his favorite songs, someone to sing lullabies to that his mother sang to him when he was a child, someone to share a bowl of cereal with when he couldn't fall asleep.
He knows it's useless to ask these questions, but they were something he couldn't stop thinking about.
If things had been different, maybe, just maybe, he could have had his Peter? His own little Robin?
And he hates himself for thinking about it so much…
Peter Parker in Gotham AU idea where he is emotionally stable enough to ask for help
Peter lands in Gotham after Dr. Strange sends him away right before the snap. At this point in time he would get help. Peter volunteers with May regularly and she has ingrained in him that its ok to ask for help even when you feel like you don't need it as much as someone else.
He looks up the history of this world and discovers the Justice League is place of the Avengers. They have saved this Earth from world ending threats before, if anyone could understand and help, its them.
Peter gets a bus ticket to DC to visit the Hall of Justice, thinking he can contact a League member. Unfortunately, the Hall of Justice is more of a museum and the staff at the front desk turn him away thinking its a prank.
Sitting on the steps of the Hall of Justice he sorts through his options:
A. Call for Superman - doesn't answer, too busy or off-world
B. Cause enough destruction that a Justice League member shown up - bad idea, likely to hurt civilians, don't want to start off on the wrong foot when asking for help
C. or..
Peter rings the bell outside the the iron gates. "This is the Wayne residence. Please state your name and business."
Peter answers "Hello, I'm Peter. My business is.." he pauses before quickly word vomiting, "I need help. I heard Bruce Wayne funds the Justice League, or that he is dating Batman, either way he must be able to contact someone from the Justice League. I'm not from here - like I am from here as in Earth but not this Earth. I'm not an alien. Though maybe because I'm from a different Earth I could technically be an alien to this Earth? I don't know, I just don't have anyone here I can go to, and there are a lot of things different here. I got sent here by a wizard from my universe. There was a giant purple alien guy that was trying to kill off half the universe. He was looking for these magic rocks that would give him the power to do that and I think he got them all. The wizard, Dr. Strange, told me that they would figure things but that I needed to go right before he sent me here."
Meanwhile, in the cave Tim has been looking into an anomaly for 2 days. This kid could be telling the truth.
Peter has started pacing, "I swear I'm telling the truth. I really just need help figuring out what I should do. How long am I going to be here? Will Dr. Strange need to pull me back or could a wizard here send me home. Should I have quarantined?! I'm from a different universe what if I'm starting a pandemic by being here! OMG, I went on public transportation!!
A voice at the gate interrupts him, "Peter was it?" Peter jumps, not sensing the man that appeared. "Why don't you come inside and we will figure things out". Alfred walks Peter up to the mansion.

If you have a fic rec that has Peter asking for help from the start, or just uncommon Peter in Gotham tropes, please comment the name of the fic. I will read it ヾ(≧▽≦). thanks
tfw you get brain worms on a cross over idea that you decide to draw at least 1 character from it
(the idea is that jake, mar'i, peter, and alfred jump universes cause theirs is collapsing and the heroes of their world dont want them to suffer this fate. once they get to a safe universe, peter assumes the role of the provider. alfred thinks they should go look for their family, but peter is kinda against it cause they might not accept them. like, alfie, your dads could be kids like you in this universe; could you imagine some kid around your age coming up to you ad claiming you to be their parent?)
anyway, take this interpretation of Mar'i Grayson i drew which actually helped me get out of my art funk a bit
the world that she lived in w/ peter was one where the JL and the Avengers were both present but they still experienced the Blip 👍
thinking about drawing jake, peter, and alfred later to go with this 🤔🤔🤔
i'm never leaving this fucking site i stg i love you all.
OK
final one
for all the marbles,
this one doesn't have an illustration bc i think it was just a kids novel but i haven't been able to find ANYTHING about it on my occasional internet queries:
kids is staying with his (grandmother?) in the woods and she warns him not to look a fox in the eyes bc they're tricksy and will swap places with you. obviously that's the first thing the little boy does and gets body snatched by a fox who uhhhh proceeds to pig out with his new little boy human hands and the boy has to trick the fox into looking him in the eyes again to switch back...
thats all i got, it's an older book i wanna say from the 60's?? 70's?? kinda the same jist of "Little Rascal"
coming live to you with another hydra!peter idea :D
this one in particular wont leave my mind so when i get to that part, i will put down a tw/cw!
sO- hydra!peter with all the yummy angst lore and whatnot, bUT also happens to have a healing factor that's a lot like deadpool's. why? cause after the spider bite had successfully joined and rewrote part of peter's dna, the hydra scientists wanted to know what could be enhanced.
through trial and error, peter's body slowly became more mutated. he has an extra set of eyes under his original ones (he can keep them closed for long periods of time), canines are longer and sharper than the average human's, also he is able to produce a paralytic venom, his hearing has gotten wider as well, and debating about giving his an extra set of arms....
one thing that they had also done, was inject the dna of a mutant who was able to regenerate any part of their body. the scientists were really wanting that to go through because then it would change the game for them. it goes through really well and now peter gets to lose his limbs in the name of science and violence 👍
now, i'm kinda torn (heh) between having peter be isekai'd into dc and keeping him in marvel...
but if he were to be in dc, i think it'd be super fun if peter made contact with Young Justice first. i fr just want peter to have some friends that are his age and get him into shenanigans while also trying to help him heal the best way they can
idk who all is a polygot, but i do believe that tim (?) is one and that one language he can speak fluently in is russian,,,,so yeah after the team finds out that english puts this guy into a panicked state, tim starts in other languages before they settled on russian.
anyway, NOW TO THE PART THAT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!
CW: Dismemberment of a limb
after spending time and becoming pretty attached to yj, peter will pretty much do anything to keep them safe
at some point in time, young justice and peter find themselves caught in a trap set up by some big bad that they had to fight. lots of fighting and the team getting hurt. i'm not good at describing these things shhhhh
idk how it happens, but one of peter's arms is caught on either rubble
someone is about to get killed by the bbeg so what does peter do? makes sure that he can get to them by any means necessary. which means that he rips his arm off of his body (leaving it caught in the rubble), is high off of adrenaline, and now that he is free, he goes ham on protecting his friend.
the team deffo freaks out when they see peter armless and losing a lot of blood. then they freak out again when they see it growing back.
tim puts this info in peter's file along with all the other things they've learned about his past. safe to say none of them like hydra.
