my most wild and fanciful dream is that customers will learn to read
the spirit is willing but the flesh is so fucking out of it rn. actually the flesh would like to pack it up and leave. it's done with the horrors.
you can post on tumblr even when you're trying to take a break from social media it literally doesn't count. it's like pepsi max, or pescatarianism
Everyone is so weird about people who cry easily. Fellas, is it evil and manipulative to *checks notes* have an involuntary stress response?
Special kind of hell I visit at least once a month: crying in public.
The thing about wanting to write smart essays is you truly do have to read books to do that, and the thing about reading books is that it is way harder now that I am not 17 and smartphoneless
Genuinely humiliating to read in 25 minute chunks because a decade of having a feelgood device in my pocket has turned my brain to cheese
This is how Superhero v. Supervillain dynamics form.
gamechanger has 2 storylines. one is the episode to episode shenanigans, the escalation of games. the other is an extremely slow psychological thriller that exists only between Brennan Lee Mulligan and Sam Reich.
gender is a performance and im getting heckled by those old gay muppets
Those tags had me weeping actual tears of mirth holy fuck
I'm AUHD and these are my two opposite personalities(this is a bit of generalisation and there are exeptions to this).
Me with people that I don't know well and/ or make me feel uncomfortable: Bubbly, chatty, sweet, talking a mile a minute, dynamic voice.
Me with people that I actually like: Can spend hours sitting in silence close to them, much more blunt, bitchy, cursing A LOT.
So I finally figured out how to snap my fingers (don't judge me I'm perpetually uncoordinated) and oh my god new stimming technique unlocked.
Some other bangers;
"Jack of all trades, master of none" ... "but ofttimes better than a master of one."
"Blood is thicker than water." "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the waters of the womb."
"Money is the root of all evil." "The love of money is the root of all evil."
there's also "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" which conservatives are oh so fond of saying
bootstraps are, well, straps on your boots. you cannot physically pull yourself up by them, and that's what the original phrase meant. "pulling oneself up by the bootstraps" is meant to be an impossible task
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness."
The second part really matters.
Some more:
"Birds of a feather flock together- until the cat comes." - The first part gets quoted a lot in a "find your people" kind of way, but the full quote is a warning about basing relationships on "feathers" (looks, surface details, etc) only.
"Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back." - The first part is often used like a warning against curiosity, but the full quote encourages it.
"The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese." - The first part is often used to get people to do stuff first/fast/early, but the full saying imparts that sometimes, not being the first can work out better.
"Rome wasn't built in a day, but they were laying bricks every hour." - The first part is often quoted in a "cool it/relax/stop" type way, but the full quote encourages slow and steady progress.
"Great minds think alike, though fools seldom differ." - Just because it's an idea y'both had, doesn't make it a good one.
I think it’s funny when fans are shocked people saw mcr in 2005 for $20… like yeah you too can go see a future world famous band at a local venue for $20 right now
Okay confession. Sometimes I search my username on google images to see if people have posted screenshots of my posts on other websites. A recent delightful find has been small venues posting a photo of this post on their socials to promote shows. Made me happy
Honestly I think it’s so funny that in the Marvel universe, when someone’s really smart, they have like eight to twelve doctorates and they finished high school at age twelve.
And then over in the DC universe it’s like. This is Tim Drake. He’s a genius. He keeps cloning his loved ones. He dropped out of highschool. Over there is Barry Allen. He can reverse engineer a spaceship in less than a minute. He is such a good chemist he’s still going to be known as the best chemist in 4,000 years. He has a bachelor’s degree.
chris pratt's voice is so boring. he's just a guy. stop letting him voice act i'm begging you
it fucking sucks how you can do all the therapy and self healing in the world and you still have to wake up living under a capitalist death cult that's killed community and crushes your soul
congrats you want to live and be happy
bad news the world doesn't want that for you
I'll still love fully and crawl to hope until my body gives out anyway I guess
there are so many ways to quietly yearn for the glory of being known
would much like to point out that the people publishing these articles are trying to needle millennials into treating gen z with the same disgusting vitriol we were treated with.
don’t buy it.
our younger brothers and sisters might eat a tide pod and get us blamed for it, but we have more in common with them than we ever had with boomers or gen x.
they are terrified of the things we can do together. remember that.
you ever take off your noise cancelling headphones and sounds are like, sounds, so you put your noise cancelling headphones back on
I know these tags were a joke but speaking for autistics everywhere, sound has done so much. TOO much. It deserves to be cancelled
@catrillion how dare you keep a beautiful pun like that in the tags
