DIAGNOSIS

On the 8th of April, after 15 years of being symptomatic; of being constantly turned away by doctors not believing the extent of my problems, I got a diagnosis.

After doctors telling me I was “sensitive,” “just a bit hypermobile,” or god forbid “looking for attention.” I got a diagnosis.

I have Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

For the people seriously asking why we are moving back to the citrus scale and what the citrus scale even is. 🍋

What is the citrus scale you ask-

Make sure you tag appropriately.

Why are people doing this? Anything tagged n s f w is completely removed from search results. This means no more followers or likes and artists struggle to find people to commission them. Tumblr has a huge fan base. With the ban, the fans dispersed. This ban that was supposed to get rid of the bots didn’t even do the job and has punished everyone else along with it. Personally, all of my posts got deleted.

I strongly suggest people not wanting to see the content to block the lemon, grapefruit, lime, and smut tag. 🍋

I remember first learning that you can cry from any emotion, that emotions are chemical levels in your brain and your body is constantly trying to maintain equilibrium. so if one emotion sky rockets, that chemical becomes flagged and signals the tear duct to open as an exit to release that emotion packaged neatly within a tear. Everything made sense after learning that. That sudden stability of your emotions after crying. How crying is often accompanied by the inability to feel any other emotion in that precise moment. And it is especially beautiful knowing that it is even possible to experience so much beauty or love or happiness that your body literally can’t hold on to all of it. So what I’ve learned is that crying signifies that you are feeling as much as humanely possible and that is living to the fullest extent. So keep feeling and cry often and as much as needed

Those images come from an interesting article through Smithsonian! They were taken by photographer Rose-Lynn Fisher around 2013.

The article does touch on the three different types of scientifically recognized tears as well! Psychic tears triggered by extreme emotions, basal tears to keep your cornea lubricated, and reflex tears due to irritation (like onion vapors). That being said, I need to cry more.
