So in summation; Rowling demanded access to a woman’s time and when she couldn’t get it she retaliated by posting an upskirt image of her and called her fat, and some of her fans even went “I think I can see her genitals”.

She literally went “debate me! Debate me!” Over and over like the grifter she is and when she couldn’t get what she wanted and when “no” wasn’t enough she resorted to retaliatory sex-pestery, posting an image of somebody’s body with intention to shame and embarrass and spawn more waspish tittering from her internet followers.

MRI machines and cooling units and AC and IT systems in hospitals are breaking due to the heat. Lab equipment is failing. Some cancer treatments cannot be done due to machine failures. A&E overcrowding is worse due to heat related health issues and sheer amount of people is making the heat in hospitals worse (and the AC! Is breaking!) Patients with appointments are being advised to bring in "a lot" of water with them to be able to safely attend. Fans cannot be used in hospitals. Norwich has no functuoning MRI scanners right now. And the staff have to keep working through all of this, they are getting ill and sleep deprived which is compounding issues further. This is not normal 👍

Those are working class people who can't afford to get fired, working over stove tops in 105F heat.

In most of these locations these poorest people are disproportionately likely to not be white* which makes the repeated smug geniuses in every thread like this piping up with “white people problems!” particularly disgusting. Beyond the perennial point we keep trying to convey on this webbed site that guys, equating ‘Europe’ only with ‘white people’ is what our local racists do and people claiming to be progressive need to stop repeating their talking points.

*plus even outside the lowest incomes or the most heat-intensive manual jobs, things like home ownership rates are also correlated with ethnicity [UK stats as example] and a) a lot of rental tenants are prohibited from having anything except free-standing devices even if they can afford them and b) window AC units are not compatible with a lot of building windows in the UK (casement has long been much commoner than sash) and afaik many other European countries, because they were never built with them in mind. This article on housing in Paris was a rough read, and most (possibly all, idk) of the Parisians quoted were Black or North African French, who are in fact a large, long-standing and important part of the population. This really should not be news to anyone.

Dog location: Northeast Georgia, just outside metro Atlanta and near the NC/TN/SC borders. TL;DR: Really sweet stray dog has ringworm; current foster is immune compromised; need someone to help by housing her for the duration of her treatment. Only need a short-term foster (approximately a month is the estimate for ringworm treatment? up to six weeks, I guess) and we can help find a permanent placement for her when her treatment is complete.

Details: Fantine is a stray dog we have been fostering for about the last month, she has a wonderful temperament (very sweet and trusting with people, quite resilient, friendly to all the dogs she has met) and is about a year and a half old. She has had all her vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm treatment and was spayed almost three weeks ago. and is healing up from it really well.

She's also ringworm positive, and I have some serious immune-related health conditions. The vet who diagnosed her was worried about her staying in the house with me even though she has been in quarantined in the laundry room and we are being very cautious about biosecurity.

Our local shelter is full and doesn't have the resources to help us right now. We really, *really* need help finding a place for her to finish her treatment. She has been started on oral and topical meds and is receiving anti-fungal baths. She's a really, really good and easy dog (or we wouldn't have fostered her at all) but it's not longer feasible to keep her here, and I don't know what to do. Feel free to reach out and ask me any additional questions if you have them. Willing to drive her somewhere if it will get her to a good foster. Thanks for reading.
