These adorable Fish Cake Pops are a fun and delicious twist on traditional cake pops. Made with flaked white fish, mashed potatoes, and flavorful seasonings, they are perfect for parties and entertaining. The cute fish shapes make them a hit with both kids and adults!
Ingredients: 1 cup cooked and flaked white fish such as cod or tilapia. 1 cup mashed potatoes. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 1/4 cup finely chopped celery. 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard. 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 cup breadcrumbs. Vegetable oil for frying. Cake pop sticks. Sliced nori seaweed for decorating.
Instructions: In a large bowl, combine the flaked fish, mashed potatoes, chopped onion, celery, red bell pepper, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into small fish-shaped balls and place them on a parchment-lined tray. Insert a cake pop stick into each fish-shaped ball. Place the breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. Roll each fish-shaped ball in the breadcrumbs until evenly coated. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large, deep pan to 350F 175C. Fry the fish cake pops in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove the fish cake pops from the oil and let them drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Once cooled slightly, use sliced nori to create eyes and mouth on each fish cake pop. Serve the fish cake pops on a platter and enjoy!
