Honestly, tabletop RPG frameworks where your vehicle has way more mechanical detail than the character driving it are wasted on giant robots. I want a game about Prohibition-era bootleggers where the inadvisably hot-rodded Studebaker you use to outrun the cops has a three-page character sheet and the mobster behind the wheel fits on a postcard.

(Before you roll your eyes at the prospect of Yet Another Shitty Car Chase RPG, bear in mind that a lot of the thorny problems inherent to doing long-distance road chases in tabletop RPGs go away if you ditch the theatre-of-mind shit and play it out on a real roadmap. A game about Prohibition bootleggers is well suited to this approach because you can use actual, historical roadmaps. You could even freely include them in your scenarios – all published roadmaps from the 1920s are juuuuust old enough that they're now unambiguously in the public domain.)

kinda crazy how like every cult documentary is like "here's the survivors we spoke to who all have a range of different experiences, beliefs, talents, skills and stories" and all the survivors of the cult are like "i consider myself a rational person and this initially gave me a sense of community and was offering me the one thing i needed, it was a wonderful experience at first and i was surrounded by people i loved and who loved me, and by the time i realised how bad things had gotten i was in too deep and had alienated all my friends and family outside of the group and had been brainwashed over a period of time to think that any suffering was deserved and that by leaving i would be causing harm to myself and everyone i knew, and if things had been good once then maybe they would be again, and i had to believe that because i had nothing else left" and then half the reviews are people talking about how stupid cult survivors are and how they would NEVER be so dumb to join a group like this, clearly these idiots KNOWINGLY joined a cult and therefore deserved everything that happened to them, maybe if they had tried been as smart and rational as me,

People really like to assume joining a cult means you're bad person. That you're not only dumb, but of questionable moral fiber.

Nobody wants to think about how the main connective tissue with cult members is how people were often vulnerable and lonely.

People really do not want to accept they're essentially one really bad month away from being recruited or homeless.
