1. i’m not discriminating. do you see me hiring anybody? firing anybody? giving somebody less or more rights? no. i am simply stating my experiences with men.

2. men are not oppressed on a societal level, at least not for being men, so no, by definition, even if we COULD discriminate against men, it wouldn’t be just as toxic, because it wouldn’t uphold centuries-long-oppression. the white man has always been able to vote as long as democracy has been standard; the white man has always been able to work; the white man has always been able to marry. saying “I hate men, men suck” doesn’t reinforce and support any already existing legal oppressions they have, unlike saying something like “I hate trans people” because trans people are still murdered for being trans all the time (esp black trans women) and it’s still legal to fire us for being trans in many states of America.

So in season 1 when we meet Rachel Berry we learn that she was born to two gay dads, and has been in performing arts classes her entire life. She desperately wants to be on Broadway and is dedicated to making sure that happens, even if it means getting made fun of in school. She even will go as far as to lie about things that a teacher has done to get them replaced with someone who she deems to be more beneficial to her. When Mr Schue decides to reignite Glee club, she jumps at the chance and auditions with the classic broadway song “On My Own”, as she is signing up she goes on this tangent about how gold stars are a metaphor for her life (more on that later). Rachel clearly gets accepted to Glee club because she is a talented singer and this is where we see Rachel’s true colors start to shine. (Rachel Berry Analysis Season 1)

Personality: Rachel is very egotistical, over-bearing, shrewd and hyperactive. She's also known to be a little manipulative as well, getting the previous glee director fired because she didn't get a solo. However, she doesn't realize whenever someone is manipulating her. Rachel is very competitive but works harder than anyone else so often feels she should have the spotlight and due to her dream of performing on Broadway. However, on numerous occasions, during her tenure as a New Directions member, Rachel has shown that she was slowly becoming more considerate and supportive towards the other members of the glee club. Motivations: her names based a one primer Rachel of main character's Friends and Barbra and her bigger motivation, Barbra Streisand. She wants to be a star and no one and nothing stop her, when she first joins a Glee Club has a chance of prove to other people and also members of ND: your talent. And she is most important member, looking the way Rachel is treated, especially for Quinn, Santana and Puck - who bullying her. Is lonely n the difference between Berry and other principal too suffer bullying, in the start she have no one beyond her fathers. Your chance make a friends and who knows, a boyfriend.

Actions: the worst thing she did: was putting Sunshine in danger, because of fears and insecurities what new girl and possibly new member of ND bring to the Berry. She speaks few words offensive without stop to think, impulsive and ambitious, which two characteristics, in special, have their good and bad sides.
