So a couple more half asleep random thoughts on my latest DP AU where Danny accidentally calls CW dad and then no one believes he’s not actually his dad (Link here)

Mainly Fright Knight. He hears Phantom called CW father and he starts thinking about kid running into fights with the odds stacked against him, ridiculously stubborn and noble, completely protective over the land he’s claimed to protect and winning through determination and force of will and suddenly is remembering what Pariah was like when he was younger and before the madness took hold and is 1000% sure Danny is Pariah and CW’s biological kid no one will convince him otherwise and after his mini breakdown that he literally tried to kill his prince he decides it is his duty to protect Phantom at all costs. He shows up and swears fealty to him and Danny is just like ‘wtf wtf wtf’ and tries explaining that he called Clockwork dad on accident and oh god he’s embarrassed enough about calling his sort of mentor dad but

Danny: Look Clockwork is not my dad and Pariah definitely isn’t

Fright Knight: Yes they are

Danny:…I-what no no they are not

Fright Knight: They most definitely are my prince

Danny:…

It’s a lost cause trying to explain they’re not Clockwork has shown the ancients the actual timeline they still don’t believe him.

Fright knight is not only super protective of Danny, Dash literally doesn’t know what him but he ended up though a wall last time he tried to mess with Danny (Danny is torn between fuck you almost killed him and fuck that was amazing) but also very concerned about the future ghost kings education he finds out Danny is struggling and goes apeshit in the ghost zone like ‘ALL OF YOU WILL STAY ON THIS SIDE OF THE PORTAL OUR FUTURE KING NEEDS TO DO CALCULUS’ he also is deeply concerned his prince does not know about ghost zone lore so Danny ends up getting ghost history lessons….Jazz gatecrashes them, she is taking all the notes (She’s also heard about Pariah and CW relationship and is very invested)

Also he starts teaching Danny more fighting and Danny wants to argue and should be trying to convince everyone he’s not the ghost zone prince…but he’s sword lessons and it’s super cool.

He’s kinda just getting used to that when the ancients show up with presents to see their Nephew. Danny feels super awkward and is just very glad Jack and Maddie are still in the basement having an existential crisis and looking over all their life’s work to busy to come upstairs and see all of the most powerful ancient ghosts of the infinite realms having tea around the table…. at least he gets to hear embarrassing stories about Pariah and Clockwork.

Clockwork shows up as well Danny is awkward as hell around him at first because haven’t really interacted since he pulled the ultimate accidentally calling your teacher dad move.

CW: I wouldn’t bother trying to keep explaining it to them Daniel just accept fate

Danny:…uh why is it for the best timeline

CW:No. They’re just to stubborn to accept anything else.

CW: In all timelines all trying to explain does is lead to a headache

He also not so subtly says that well he also sees Danny as a son and that he wouldn’t mind having that bond… it’s the weirdest most roundabout way to adopt someone.

Pariah shows up and instead of the dramatic reunion he and CW slide just into how they were before Pariah went crazy aka the most mushy romantic couple of all time, like able to kill you with a thought but to busy getting lost in each others eyes to think about it.

The observants are actually super happy Pariah is back because they totally shipped it they spent centuries observing these twos ridiculous pinning and romance and then Pariah went crazy and sunk their ship and so they are super happy to have their ship back they are sitting back watching eating popcorn watching this surprise child plot twist gasping and with their own cork board of conspiracies like ‘OMG THAT’S WHY CLOCKWORK SAVED HIM YES DOTS CONNECTED’

Bonus: Vlad bursts in to do evil plan he’s been plotting and… there is the fight Knight all the ancients, Clockwork and Pariah all just sitting there…he just very slowly walks backwards out of the house…Fright Knight still tracks him down and kicks his ass.

Bonus bouns: Dani. The zones find about Dani and lose their minds more nobody even questions how they could have 2 kids of different ages at all, they’re all like you control time weird shit happens but for sure that’s your kid.

Vlad: I made them that’s a clone of Daniel

Ghost Zone: ha right nah that’s Pariah and Clockworks kid

Dani finds herself scooped up by Fight knight calling her the princess of the ghost zone and that her fathers have been looking for her and she’s confused but also like…ok and just rolls with it.

I was just thinking about Dannys hatred for Christmas and how funny / odd itd be if Amity's citizens start noticing how snappy and overly emotional and aggressive Danny gets in December and start to collectively think it's because he died in December and is still having a hard time processing it.

You know there is that myth that avalanches can happen when you yell?

It's not true. A human can't yell that loud. It's not possible. But it is certainly entrenched in people's minds, right?

If you were buried in an avalanche, you would obviously try to get out. But if you couldn't yelling for help seems a logical step.

Too bad snow is pretty good an insulating sound.

Maybe people also start to theorize that the reason why Phantom is always so quick to intervene and finish the fight to save the civilians is that the avalanche rescue never made it in time.

There is a thing called 15 golden minutes, where the buried person can still be saved, so maybe someone out of curiosity tries to time Phantom's fights and they are all less than a quarter of hour...

Do they know about the Christmas truce? Because if they didn’t I could see some thinking that the ghosts leave phantom and amity alone because it’s when he died. Like the ghosts don’t mess with him at that time and they already think that is when he died so it has to be connected in their minds. Also I wonder if they use his appearance in this theory. He died in snow and now he has SNOW white hair. And his eyes are bright green and glow so that he’d be easier to spot in snow? Sorry that it’s rushed.

If he's assumed to've been an out-of-town tourist/visitor, it would also explain why they can't find a local grave or obituary. Because he was in the area for vacation when he died, and the evidence, paper-trail, etc, is mostly in the area where his family actually lives.

This also implies that’s Danny’s parents routinely come back to search for his body. And now the tow is looking into families that routinely visit using phantoms first appearance as a marker for when he could have died and cross referencing it with anyone who was there in the year frames

I read this as Danny, unbeknowst to him, getting an entire plausible-but-inverified RPF backstory built for him by a celebrity fan club he is unaware of, and the club shares all the deets to the rest of Amity Park, and everything sounds plausible, so even though everyone knows it's unconfirmed they're also pretty sure it's definitely 100% completely true. The phan club gets super hyped every time Danny says or does something that "confirm" a point of the theory or that adds something new to it. They are constantly trying to hash out how every new piece of actual info they get fits into the theory. They religiously watch every single fight Danny has. They try to lipread him when the cameras couldn't pick up what he was saying (if even visible on camera). They also speculate about why he's sometimes not visible on camera. (Maybe it's "snow". Like digital, noisy photo type snow.) They try to learn ghost speech (and attempt a lot of conversations with Danny and other ghosts that are deeply confusing for all parties involved). They follow him like tornado chasers. It's a rapidly growing RPF phandom with lots of super dedicated phans (this is what they call themselves). They gain new members as Danny saves more people - the rescuees join, or their friends or family do, or someone sees him on the news and goes down an internet rabbithole, because the phandom has assured that there's plenty of internet rabbithole to go down. There are websites. There are gifs used as memes. The whole bit. Danny is not aware of any of this. Tucker and Sam are aware of all of this but they think it's hilarious and are waiting to see how long Danny will remain oblivious. They make stealthy or semi-stealthy jokes about it in front of him. They crack up laughing and refuse to explain, or lie very badly. Jazz also knows but thinks Danny already knows. The Fenton parents know a little bit - they at least know the phanclub exists, but not much. But they hate everything about the phanclub and everything they create. At some point, the Fenton parents complain about the phanclub live on air. The phanclub TP's their weird house. The phanclub and others in Amity were already making memes about their weird house and their driving, and now there are memes about their TP'd and so even weirder looking weird house. Some of the ghosts are aware of phanclub because a few of them have been interviewed (aka clumsily interrogated by random teenagers who are sometimes trying to speak ghost speak). Some of them are getting invested despite themselves. Dani finds out and immediately joins phanclub (at least online) and adds as much wild fuel to the runormill as she can. Vlad isn't sure how to respond to this. He's also... jealous. Of a teenager. But why did he never get afan club, or an elaborate backstory theory, or memes? Can he make himself more appealing to the youth of today somehow?

Obsessed with that one mention of the phanclub trying to find the family that consistently returns to the ski slope cause lots of families pick a ski slope they love and always return to it. There will be so many families that return, and we never know whats going on in strangers lives so its totally possible one family will stop coming with their son.

What if the fact that so many people believe this is what makes it true? Like how mythology changes throughout history, the mythology of Danny Phantom changes, and since he's a supernatural being, it actually changes how he remembers events. Suddenly he starts getting these memories of going skiing with his family. He remembers them meeting their old college friend at the resort. He remembers that college friend inviting them to stay over. He remembers waking up in the middle of the night and seeing this guy leave the cabin. He remembers following.

He doesn't remember going back.

DP Idea

Danny learns how to shapeshift specific pars of his body(hair, jawline, flinger length, ect ect). At first, it was because he was bored and it was fun to play with his hair length or hand size, but then danny realized he could use this to make him and Phantom look different.

He didn't want, or need to go too overboard, of course, but minor obvious differences would do the trick, just to make them look related opposed to identical.

Phantom has short hair, sharp facial fetures, and was about a head taller than Danny.

Danny, in comparison, has hair that goes down pass his shoulders, soft and rounder facial fetures, and is a head shorter than Phantom.

Danny's hair took a while to establish, he couldn't just pop up one day with long hair, but that was the only hiccup.

And, with some duplicate work, Danny could even stage a very public display of Phantom "saving him" after he "tripped down the hill", standing side by side they looked like they could be closely related cousins or brothers. [The only downside to this interaction is that Sam, horrible person that she is, joked about it being a 'meet-cute', and now like 1/4 of the school ships him with himself.]

Note: The only thing Danny really changed about his human form was his hair and a bit of his facial fetures but not by much he just softened them a little. Its easier to change his form as a ghost, so his in his Ghost form he altered his facial fetures the most, and made himself taller but left his hair the same.
