So, as we know, Simon lost his arm. I think that on Erid, they would try to make him a prosthetic. But, I don't think Simon would like it very much. He doesn't use the prosthetic much. While some of the reasoning is because of his shoulder's scarring making it uncomfortable, it's mostly just due to his preference and him not really liking it.

While Rocky and the other Eridians are a bit confused why he wouldn't want a limb replacement (They have lots of limbs and are confused on why someone would want less limbs), Rocky learns to respect and support Simon, and now defends Simon when other Eridians question him.

Simon is not used to having people respect his decision nor is he used to people fighting for him. So he goes through a lot of emotions during this. From saying he can defend himself and not needing Rocky's help, to him being happy people care enough to fight for him.

(And yes, we still have Rocky being a bit of a dick to Simon normally, but they still half way get along lol)

im so sick of the stupid stereotypes about borderlines

I swear its so often one person has a bad experience with ONE person with borderline and suddenly they’re spreading nonsense propaganda about how were all evil and out to get them, its genuinely ridiculous how bias people will be against us for no real reason, ive seen the way high functioning people talk about those with borderline, like were animals or incapable of emotion or anything, like we’ll never see the horrible stuff they say about us and be upset by it.

It's really surprising as a transgender and disabled person when I'm talking to others and they don't really seem to know about the day-to-day struggles of just... existing? It's not surprising and I don't blame them, but I always forget that some people just have completely different experiences. Like for me, using my school bathrooms is a big deal, something to be avoided at all costs. I have to use the girl's restroom because there's only two gender neutral bathrooms in the school (first and second floors) and the second floor one has been locked since the third day of school because people vape in there. The first floor one is locked half the time too, and I don't feel safe using it because the air is usually unbreathable with smoke from vapes, and half the stalls are missing toilet seats or are occupied by people having sex or something. I'm more masculine than feminine but I present very fem, and I don't want to change that, but in a high school, I'm honestly just too afraid to use a men's restroom.

And as a disabled person, so many small, day-to-day things just become impossible for me. I have so many small rules and rituals for myself that I need just to do normal things, but I'm so used to it that I forget most people don't think twice about something that for me is all but impossible.

Whenever I notice these kinds of equity gaps, it always makes me wonder what I'm missing, because I am privileged in a lot of ways. It's something I try to think about in my day-to-day life.

I had an ableist Uber driver the other day. It was a mile and a half ride, and he asks why I didn’t just walk. I tell him I have health issues that make that unsafe. He says, “Well, to motivate you, I just had both my knees replaced and I would do it.” Cool. Not the same fucking thing.

So I explain that I have POTS. If I walked that far uphill, there’s a real chance I’d faint, and even if I didn’t, my entire day would be wrecked because my body would be completely out of whack. His response? “Well, you should always try. Maybe you’ll get better. Plus, there’s a fire station on the way.”

Why the fuck are you saying this to me? You are paid to drive people places. That is literally the whole job. This isn’t a TED Talk, and I didn’t ask for motivation, medical advice, or a comparison to your knees.

And just in case this needs to be said: some disabilities don’t get better. Some of us don’t get parts swapped out and sent back on our way.

No, he did not get a tip. And yes, I contacted Uber support, made sure I never get matched with him again, and told them exactly why.

(The best part of this was, yeah, I've had my knees replaced too and the bounce back is not anywhere near as easy as he made it sound. lol)

Orlando’s SeaWorld under federal investigation for its ban on walkers

The park recently changed its policy to ban rollator walkers

Fuck SeaWorld.

SeaWorld has banned disabled people from using walkers with seats on their premises.

Apparently they require you to hire one of their wheelchairs at a cost instead. They are now being investigated.

"We are committed to providing a safe, accessible, and inclusive experience for our guests and Ambassadors. To support this, we have recently updated our guidance regarding rollator and wheeled walkers with seats. These devices can pose a safety concern if not used in accordance with manufacturer requirements, which strictly prohibit using them as a wheelchair," SeaWorld Orlando said in a statement.

SeaWorld is awful in every way possible. Boycott SeaWorld.

I'm a bit pissed off right now. I saw three fake service animals today out in public. One at the library and two at Walmart.

The library one was a 8-9 week old puppy in a backpack. I brought it to staff attention. The other two were in the same store trip.

The one was the same little black dog I always see in there. With the same old guy. So clearly Walmart still isn't doing anything about it. The other one was a kitten in a hat.

I finally found the courage to say something to the person. I told her that Walmart isn't pet friendly. She turns to me saying "how she only needed a few things an couldn't leave her in the car or she'd die" then she goes on talking about "how she was found in a car engine earlier that day. She's only about 5 weeks old. They had such a long drive already" ect

I wish I would have said how Walmart is service animals only, but I didn't. My younger sibling and even an employee went over to pet the kitten and say "how cute she it"

I'm tired of Walmart not following not only store policy, but federal law! If y'all aren't going to enforce the no pet rule, don't have a fucking sign that says no pets service animals only.

Don't get me wrong I am happy with the outcome of my dentist non appointment yesterday but it made me feel so small.

1. I sign three fucking forms to say about my physical health. And my benefits. And the fact my full nhs is covered points at how bad my health is also. And even though they new my health is unstable and that I would likely miss appointments so I made sure to phone them to say if I couldn't make it. After 2 missed appointments they cancelled my dental appointment without telling me and withdrew me from the practice.

2. Even though I told them why I would have issues getting in if my health was bad was because they are my nearest (accessible dental unit) at over an hour away and the only one accepting new nhs patients. They still couldn't understand why I missed an appointment when I couldn't see. You kinda need to see to drive. Or even to not run your wheelchair into every door and wall and person available.

3. I was told not to shout, the person next to me was talking louder than my supposed shouting in a deathly silent waiting room.

4. When they went out to get my partner suddenly everyone's attitude changed. A man shaped person stood beside me and suddenly I wasn't hostile I was pitiful and they'd do whatever they could. The waiting room stopped staring at me. I'm not a hysterical child, I'm a woman who is genuinely upset at an injustice that's happened. Suddenly I could be put back on the register, an appointment could be made, fees could be waived, that im now allowed to call a day in advance and move or cancel appointments and a name given if any other problems occur. [My tone hadn't changed, I was still 33 years old, I was still crying, still mid panic attack, still unknowingly digging my nails into my arm and neck. Nothing about me had changed.]

And this caused me to sleep the rest of the day 10am till 9pm. There's no shops open so I can't buy food. So I guess I'm not eating today and my sleeps gonna be fucked for the next fortnight. My meds are also going to cause me to feel sick because I can't eat with them.
