and it’s crazy because that wasn’t even what my post was about. this one is actually completely about the way fandom interacts with spoken misogyny in fiction, by regularly and extensively conflating it with repressed queerness and/or using (headcanoned) queerness as a tool to justify and excuse the overt textual misogyny. i’m not even talking about WHY the writers chose to make this guy suck about women specifically, i’m just pissed off because i keep watching “omg so gay” tv shows and movies as recommended by other queer people and it turns out the “gayness” is in fact just a man hating women

What I’ve always loved about this bit is

a. this musical number comes completely out of nowhere, with no greater context than what this video captures; and

b. the language instructor clearly can’t hear the music. He’s not from Musical Theatre Land. From his perspective, a couple of twinkle-toed weirdos just randomly decided to physically abuse him for three solid minutes. I had to go looking for the thread because I was 100% sure someone on Reddit had an explanation.

I work at an ikea and the amount of people that ask for these windows are a lot , but why are they so stubborn to answer those questions? It’s obviously marketing: in kids sections and bedrooms and livingrooms they put pictures for a cozy homie type of vibes so you can picture living in a house like that. In office is more neutral or cloudy because it’s designed mostly for businesses to show how professional the furniture can look on a busy day in a busy city. Those pictures are captured by visual merchandisers that work there and have studied the local market or by photographers hired by ikea with the same purpose : selling you an idea ( or a solution as they like to put it). It’s pretty interesting how ikea has designed these ideas and it depends on which store you buy and in which city you are in.

My guess for why the workers didn't want to answer is because it really sucks when you're working retail and people ask you super high level questions like you know or would be able to change things. Like no, the music and the lighting and the sales and the products are set by corporate and corporate barely listens if regular workers tell them the store is on fire.

I really hate that Reddit lets people hide their post and comment histories now, I was hoping to get an idea what OP might be like based on their Reddit history.
