given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that
Not sure why it's a new trend among fic readers to assume if the fic has not been posted within the week it's inappropriate to comment on it, like the fic has to be hot out of the oven to give feedback for.
I got a comment on a fic that is less than a year old and it was mostly an apology for being a comment on an "old fic" and how late they were in commenting.
Just comment on the fic. Doesn't matter how old it is.
What to actually do
If you get one of these, the answer is boring and it works every time:
Don't call the number. Don't reply. Don't click links in the email — not even the unsubscribe link. Open a fresh browser tab, type paypal.com yourself, and log into your account. Check your activity. You'll see either nothing, or a tiny incoming payment from a stranger that you can ignore.
Then forward the original email as an attachment to [email protected] and delete it. If you want to go a step further, report the phone number to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov — every report makes it slightly harder for these operations to keep running.
And if you've already called? Don't beat yourself up — these scams are designed by professionals to fool smart people. Hang up, run a malware scan if you installed anything they asked you to install, change your PayPal and bank passwords from a different device, and call your bank's real fraud line (the number on the back of your card) to flag your accounts. Move fast, but you don't need to panic.
from the above linked article. For the UK the email to forward phishing scams to is [email protected], texts can be forwarded on to 7726 (for free!) and as a victim of fraud you can report it here (or here for Scotland)
— If an email recently landed in your inbox with a subject line like "Pending charge of USD 987.90 for account activation. Questions? Call (855) 629-1161" — don't call that number. Don't click anything. And whatever you do, don't panic-dial to "stop the charge."
You're being targeted by one of the cleverest scams going right now, and the reason it works is uncomfortable: the email genuinely came from PayPal.
The trick is in the subject line, not the email
When most people think "phishing email," they picture sketchy senders, broken English, and links to weird domains. This scam is the opposite. The email passes every authenticity check — SPF, DKIM, DMARC, all green. It comes from PayPal's actual mail servers. The fonts are right. The footer is right. The unsubscribe link works. If you forwarded it to a security expert and asked "is this really from PayPal?" they'd have to say yes.
So how is it a scam?
Scammers have figured out that PayPal lets anyone send small amounts of money to anyone else, and that PayPal will dutifully email the recipient a notification. The scammer sends you a payout of, say, one Hungarian forint — about a quarter of a cent. PayPal's system then automatically generates and sends you a real, legitimate, fully-authenticated email confirming the transaction.
Here's the catch: the email's subject line is whatever the scammer typed when they set up the payout. PayPal doesn't sanitize it. So they write something terrifying like "Pending charge of USD 987.90 — call this number with questions" and PayPal's servers cheerfully deliver that subject line straight to your inbox, wrapped in a perfectly legitimate-looking notification.
The actual transaction in the email body is for 1 forint. There is no $987.90 charge. There never was. But by the time most people read carefully enough to notice that, they've already dialed the number. —
We've all had friends and family fall ill before, whether that's been the flu or something more chronic. Nader's father has cancer, and him and his family are still in Gaza living under horrible conditions.
Please, if you can, consider donating to Nader and his family to help them get through this incredibly difficult time. Their fundraiser is currently at 81% -- they're getting so close!
We have been through an extremely difficult situation in this war for two consecutive years. We are suffering from hunger and fear, and on top of that, my father has cancer, which he contracted during the war. He is now suffering greatly because of it and needs medication, treatment, and surgeries from time to time. Please do not leave us alone in this suffering and donate to us now.
Nader's father needs pain relief. Donate what you can. This is campaign number 4 on the @gazavetters account. I personally assure you that your donations will go directly to Nader, his family, and his ailing father.
Hey everyone, please don't ignore this post. Help us and donate. Every donation you make is a glimmer of hope for us. Please don't hesitate to donate. Please donate now.
i had a thought of "do people not know what AUs are anymore?" and then i remembered nobody explains fandom stuff to new people anymore so it is entirely plausible people genuinely don't know what AUs are and nobody has explained it to them, so for today's lucky 10,000:
"AU" stands for "Alternate Universe" or "Alternative Universe" (same difference) and is basically any thought scenario for a fandom that isn't canon and can't fit within the canon universe. If it takes place in the canon universe but something is notably different, that is typically what's known as a "Canon divergent AU," because it diverges from canon.
an AU can be absolutely anything. There's a couple of widespread pan-fandom au scenarios that often get thrown around, like coffee shop aus, genderbend aus, hanahaki aus (hanahaki is a whole thing in itself i'd recommend researching on your own), etc. One you might hear sometimes is "crossover AU" which is when you have characters from one fandom interacting with characters from another.
You can have as many aus as you want. They can be whatever you want and you can do whatever you want in them. It's a sandbox for you to play around in and explore how things would be different or how the characters would act in those circumstances or environments. Maybe they have different relationships with each other. Maybe they behave slightly differently. Or you can just say "Okay, [x] is true. How did they get here? How would things have to be different for this to occur?" which can also be fun.
If you are ever confused about why people ship something that seems completely out of the blue or doesn't make sense to you in the canon setting, there's a good chance they like it in an AU setting! Not everything everybody is interacting with is necessarily the canon! Not everybody wants things to exist in canon and just want to explore playing dolls in a different sandbox and that's okay. And their sandbox might look a lot different than yours, and that's also okay. You have the freedom to make your sandbox whatever you please. Do whatever you want forever. Get funky with it. AUs are fun.
Okay that's my schpeal. everybody go have fun and play nice now.
As I write these words, my father is going through the most difficult time of his life due to cancer, which could claim his life at any moment because there are no medical teams or sufficient treatment to cure and help him.
I am trying my best to collect as many donations as possible to save my father and get him out of here as soon as his name is added to the list of travelers at the crossing. However, the longer he stays in Gaza, the more we need every donation and every bit of help to save him. Please don't ignore this and be a reason for saving my father's life Please share this post and donate now.
Please, everyone, help us and donate. Nearly 200 people have participated, but only 2 have donated. Please don't ignore us and donate whatever you can to support us. We need all the help we can get. Please donate now.
Please donate. Please don't ignore us and share this post. Every share and every donation helps a lot. Please don't ignore us. Please share and donate. Please.
When I worked at Target, it was during the winter, and this guy comes up to my register with a neutral-colored beanie with a fake fur pompom on top. All embarrassed and cringing, asking me if it was a woman’s hat and if it would be weird for him to get it.
I was like, “It’s just a hat. If you like it and you wear it, it’s not a woman’s hat, it’s just your hat. You don’t need to follow what the tag says if you don’t want to.” And it was like I gave him some kind of awe-inspiring wisdom he’d never considered, and he left with that hat on his head.
More cishets need to hear and internalize this message because so many of them are avoiding things that would make them happy just because of it having a label on it for whatever gender.
I’ve been seeing nothing but posts from my treasured friends and fellow creatives here that this new addition to the settings of Tumblr will destroy our community. And guys— they’re right. Reblogs allow us to share our work and have it spread to far more people, while also being able to respond and see our friends’ comments to our work.
But this new rule will take that away. Please, if you can, send a complaint to Tumblr’s question box. (DO NOT be rude or hateful or bad mouth them. You catch far more flies with honey, and last I checked, if some stranger on the internet started cussing you out, would you care? I don’t think so.)
I really don’t want to leave Tumblr. The memories I’ve made and the community I have found are so very treasured to me. It’s also been the best site for story/comic creators where you can use links and things to neatly file your work in Masterposts.
I don’t know yet if I’ll leave— but if this rule stays, then it’s most likely I will. Should the time come that that happens, you will find me on Fanon, a new creative- based website for comics and comic dubs. It’s pretty new and is still being built on, but it’s something that’s still giving me some privacy with my personal name and identity compared to Facebook.
I wish luck and wisdom to all my fellow creators. You’re all wonderful, inspirational people who have helped me through some pretty rough patches. May you have guidance in knowing what to do next.
i like the phrases "it's not for me," "it's not my thing," and "i'm not the target audience" because they're the most concise way to express "this thing that you enjoy has merits but idgaf about it" without being aggressive
Welcome to the Nuclear Family AU! This is a rottmnt au which asks the question: what if Big Mama and Lou Jitsu got married and lived "happily ever after", but Lou still got kidnapped by Draxum so now Big Mama and Splinter raise the turtles together?
This AU might be a bit chaotic. It exists in my brain and ill make drawings and comics as the inspiration comes, so the timeline may be a bit all over the place
Hope you enjoy!

since this is such a big number I think it glances off your brain but to make it clear if all the strikers formed one nation it would be the fourth most populated nation on Earth. wow
The strike was called jointly by the worker unions and farmers groups to demand the withdrawal of the anti-people policies, such as the four
We can't sleep on south and south-east asian communism, especially when they have made or are making great strides deserving of recognition and study in their own rights.
