Your friendly neighborhood Devil
Another couple of weeks had passed and you had been in a few more dangerous situations, and every time, without fail, Nick had shown up just in time to help you out. You were grateful sure but you began to get a tad suspicious as to how he kept turning up every time, without fail. You decided that at some point youād have to bring this up to him, but finding the right time where you wouldnāt sound ungrateful was proving to be a bit difficult.
At this point youād say heād saved you about ten times by now, which was getting a little ridiculous in your opinion. You were just about to leave the house to find Nick to talk about the strangeness of the whole thing when you got a text from an unknown number.
Hey itās uh, Nick, Nick Hellion. Could you do me a favour and come to the old church on the other end of your town? Thanks, L
It was a strange text, how did he get the number? And why did he end it with an L? Either way you decided to go, your curiosity getting the better of you. Perhaps thatās why you were always getting into trouble.
When you got there you could tell that something was wrong, but curiosity pushed you forwards. You decided walking through the front door was a bad idea, so you went round to look for a different way in. As you got round the back you spotted a cellar door that you could use. Luckily, or unluckily depending on how you looked at it, the doors were unlocked. As you made your way down into the cellar you got a feeling you were walking into something you would have rather avoided, especially after what happened with your old friend.
When you got inside you carefully made your way into the main part of the cellar you spot a familiar face sitting in the corner.Ā
It was Nick. He looked as if he had his wrists locked in chains, but he seemed unusually calm for someone tied up in a building thatās supposed to be abandoned.
āNick? What are you doing here?ā You asked him in a hushed yell, trying to make as little sound as possible.
āItās a long story, can you get me out of here?ā He said lifting his hand showing the chains a bit more. āThe keys are on the table over there.ā He continued pointing to a table on the other end of the room.Ā
āWell Iām sure weāve got enough time for the condensed version of the story, Iām guessing whoever chained you up werenāt expecting a rescue party of one to show up. If any at all.ā You said walking over to the table. When you got there you saw the keys, but you also spotted something else that made this situation stranger. His phone. Grabbing the keys and his phone you walked over to him getting a better look at the chains around his wrists. They were bolted to floor, which explained why he was sitting, but there wasnāt enough slack on them for him to have reached the table.
āOh great you got them, could you do me the honour?ā He asked when you got to him lifting his hands and presenting the cuffs on his wrists. The cuffs themselves were strange with odd symbols on, but thatās not what you were focused on at the moment.
āHow did you send me a text when your phone was on the table over there?ā You asked him, gesturing to the table behind you standing just out of his reach.
āUhhhhhhh,ā he paused briefly, āIām just that good?ā He said though you werenāt convinced. As he finished the sentence he looked almost pleading as if asking to be let free before the obvious questioning that was about to take place.
āIf youāre that good, why not get the Keys instead?ā You pushed taking a further step away.
āPlease, Iāll explain everything once weāre out of here. If they come back I canāt help you while Iām stuck in these.ā He said still almost pleading lifting the cuffs again. He did make a good point though, if the people who locked him up came down and decided to catch you as well youād stand no chance. So you went over to him nealing next to him.
āThis counts as like five saves right?ā You asked jokingly as you unlocked the cuffs.
āIāll give it as twoā he replied smiling again. Once you had freed him you both left quickly. He made a mental note to return and get some payback later, but for now he knew he had some explaining to do.

well its about time i posted this. It might be a while before the next part of anything. I seem to have lost my writing mojo for a while, but fear not, i shall try and find it again. perhaps its under my bed somewhere. anyway. enjoy :)
