Let's not cooperate with mama
Always lovely to see how universal the experience of getting a very unwilling and strong minded toddler into the car seat can be.
making a collection
Wait I have more
My boss was like “Do you have any idea how much money we’re losing” like who cares, it’s not like they would give it to me otherwise
Have our investors tried making coffee at home and not eating out so much?
"crime" for conservatives is basically just existing in public as a person of color
always thinking about that Oxford study that found half of adults define "young people hanging around in groups" as "anti-social behaviour"

tried to hatch an easter egg once
I- I don’t think I wanna know
didn't have a heat lamp so i kept it under my armpit for a week
If this were anyone else I'd be confident this is a bit
it was elementary school. the year before our class hatched a batch of chickens in an incubator, i knew they needed heat. plus i didn't want an adult to confiscate it. during class i alternated between my hoodie pocket and my armpit (warmer). solid logic
Was it a plastic one or a painted one?
well see that was the big issue
Answer the question gaud
this happened in June. Easter had been over for 2 months. Easter was not on my mind. so when i found a single perfect intact egg (not hollow) just sitting on the ground under a tree, it did not occur to me that
the tree was next door to a church, places infamously known for organizing easter egg hunts
a single perfect white chicken egg rarely appears in nature nestled against a suburban tree trunk
to read deeper meaning into the small splashes of color on the base (thought it was pollution or smthng)
no, i did not see a forgotten easter egg that had been left for 2 months to weather the elements. i saw a random egg, in need of hatching.
You see Gaud, I don't believe you. You absolutely saw a forgotten Easter egg and tried to hatch it
*sighs* let my motives be washed away by the tides of time. whatever my intentions, I tried to hatch a rotten easter egg under my armpit.
tragedy, naturally, struck.
I hatched a goose egg with th3 armpit technique once
Her brother is also there, but their mum actually managed to hatch him. Her name is Riley and his name is chucky
well see now i feel cheated
Hexagonal growth in a black olive tree
Let's play: Is it AI or Real?
Red flags: Unbelievable nature you've never seen before!, no external source cited, low image quality could be hiding AI artifacts, lacks scientific name for plant, OP is an aesthetic blog (no offense, I see you credit most of the artists you post, OP <3).
Green flags: Common name of the tree provided (although the leaves don't look like any olive tree I've ever seen).
Reverse image searches and citation trails all seem to lead back to now-deleted Reddit posts. Google Images says it's this one in r/NatureIsFuckingLit, and TinEye says it's this one in r/interestingasfuck. Both were posted back in 2020. This is important because the rise of AI images was in 2022.
People in the comments of places this image is posted throw around botanical terms like "dichotomous branching" [branches split into two at the nodes] and "divaricated" [branches grow far apart from each other], which are cool, but don't tell me what the tree is.
Searching up "Black Olive" on iNaturalist finally got me some answers, and it turns out that YES. This is a real tree! This tree is a Dwarf Black Olive (Terminalia molinetii, Formerly Bucida spinosa). The above photos are some particularly nicely framed shots of a tree with particularly small leaves, which really highlights the branching structure. I really wish we knew the photographer's name. Here are some more photos of the same species:
Terminalia molinetii by jriveracruz50 on iNaturalist, posted under a CC BY-NC 4.0 license.
This tree is native to Southern Mexico, Belize, the southern tip of Florida, and Cuba. Dwarf Black Olives are completely unrelated to Olive trees in the Olea genus that I'm more familiar with (the former is in Order Myrtales [Myrtles, Evening Primroses, and Allies], and the latter is in Order Lamiales [Mints, Plantains, Olives, and Allies]).
Stay critical, and –more importantly– curious, y'all! The world is a beautiful place, we don't need fictional plants passed off as real ones for that to be true.

What the hell happened to the energy around gender neutral bathrooms. Remember when we were fighting for all bathrooms to be gender neutral. But now we can barely argue that people can use the gendered bathroom of their choice. Maybe there's some single stall bathroom tucked away in a basement somewhere.
They got new photos of the moon,
I knew she had colors hiding in there 🥹
things in fic I'm used to people kind of faking their way through writing about:
the city of los angeles
the city of new york
sex
how drinking alcohol works
how getting high works
how a child of any age speaks
how nuclear physics work
how [my job] works
how debilitating being shot in the shoulder is
how hypothermia works
things I have never before seen someone fake their way through writing about, until today:
what french toast is
Sure since adopting self checkout they got rid of 99% of grocery workers and if something goes wrong you gotta just stand there for 20 minutes while the employee managing 30% of the store singlehandedly tries to juggle helping you with their other responsibilities. But at least groceries are less expensive now right. Why are you trying to whisper in my ear I have a girlfriend
the stores are flithy and disorganized and I've run into expired products on more than one occasion and there's often a grand total 3 employees for a 5000 square foor supermarket doing their best but at least they paying those guys well with plenty of benefits. folks I just recieved a memo
The notable thing here before luddite Tumblr shows up is, there's absolutely nothing fucking wrong about with self checkout machines. I love them. They save time, since instead of me waiting while the cashier scans the stuff im scanning the stuff while noone is waiting.
The problem, as always, is the capitalist mode of production, where instead of that improvement being passed onto the workers (say, you still employ the same number of people, but they work shorter hours for the same pay and also provide a better service) it's passed onto the capitalist class, while the worker is even worse off.

"You misspelled Weltanschauung" is one of the funniest punchlines I've ever encountered.

Sparkle on! It's Wednesday! Don't forget to be yourself, Jerma!
Every now and again someone reblogs this and I am haunted by the fact that almost every big name streamer and jerma himself and notable voice actors and apparently the fucking spongebob squarepants art team have referenced this picture I made and I only have 4k notes on it
Gargantuan lore drop but I NEED a source on that SpongeBob one
You got it boss. From the episode "bubble bass reviews" in 2023
Using my power as a gimmick blog to spread the ORIGINAL post even more far and wide because how the hell does this only have 5kish notes. Please. What.
