Day 19: Dee

A series of digitally drawn images set to the song “Oh Comely” by Neutral Milk Hotel. It's all colored in grayscale.

It first fades into the song with “I know they buried her body with others,” also fading into showing Dee's grave, hers lighter in contrast to the rest. It then zooms out to show more of the scenery in the middle of the line.

The next line is “Her sister and mother and five hundred families.” At “sister” it cuts to Peter standing, looking at the camera mournfully, and at “mother” Jack also appears, expression complicated but similar to Peter's. At “five hundred families,” on each syllable, another row of lost souls appears, filling up the screen and covering up Jack and Peter.

At “will she remember me,” Jack looks up at Dee, in awe and stunned. Dee looks regretful. Then, at “fifty years later” it cuts to them hugging, Jack looking much more determined than before.

At “I wished I could save her in some sort of time machine,” Blackjack cuts in, the animated section of him lying down playing at “time machine.” It cuts to black once the line is over, the audio fading out.
