How ODDAT portrays teenagers/teenage relationships

- they aren’t overtly sexualized, dress their age, and act the ways most normal teenagers act

- their relationship does involve sex- but any mention of it is about issues of consent and understanding healthy relationships. Also, no overly sexual aspects of their relationship is showed on screen BECAUSE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CHILDREN

Now for Riverdale characters who are THE EXACT SAME AGE as Elena and Syd

- promotes unrealistic body standereds

- overly sexulizes characters who are under 18

- shows teenage sex on screen involving strip teases for grown ass men, pedophilia (in the first damn episode), and BDSM elements

Essentially- Elena ans Syd were made for teens to relate to and to see themselves in. Like all aspects of ODAAT the teenaged characters are diverse, struggle with real problems, and represent realistic expectations for teenagers to look and act.

However, Riverdale is meant to sexualize teenage characters and fosters many harmful expectations in its young audience.

So, WHY is Riverdale being renewed again and ODAAT isn’t??

Honestly, I am so upset and dissapointed with the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina finale. Its pretty and cute, if ground level is the 18th century.

First and foremost, romanticising suicide, even if only slightly implied (if we are calling this a slight implication) is so wring. The show has a yound audience that can easily be influenced, but this affects everyone struggling with losing a loved one, this message is so wrong. Why couldnt they make it so that defeating the Void needed 2 ppl? Or maybe they brought Caliban out and he killed Nick, or he died of old age, anything but this toxic message.

Secondly, why not let Sabrina see her parents? Her ancestors? She has plenty. Why leave her alone there?

Thirdly, Nick also had a family he lost, and a familiar, why not let him see them?

Consequently, four, while I am a huge Nabrina stan, always have been, why make everything about having a bf/gf? Why not let platonic and familiar bonds play a big role, heal, support, anything??

At the funeral in the end, everyone was standing paired off. Nick was left standing alone cus everyone was busy crying into their S.O.'s shoulder. Maybe letting the dude whose cousin died and the dude whose gf died acually comfort each other for example would've been nice....

Honestly, I am so upset. I loved that they are endgame, i love that they move on from part 3, but this is just so wrong

What I like about teen movies is that they always stop at the start of something. At the exact moment when you have that feeling of “hey, now I’m here, and I’m having the time of my life”. When you feel like you have your whole life in front of you and it will be so sweet and amazing and you will love every single moment. Like there is some amazing adventure on your way and it is just for you, like a little secret between you and life.  And it is basically how you actually feel sometimes, when you graduate, or kiss for the first time that special person, or you just get that good news you were waiting for. But it’s a feeling of happiness so innocent and full of expectations that you can experience only at some point of your life. And teen movies make me feel like that again, and it’s so inspiring.

I wanna talk about inclusivity

This has been a long time coming, not only as a reader-insert writer but also as a reader. I know that right now I have many writer mutuals and that this may make people think I’m annoying and/or bitchy over this, but it needs to be said.

Reader insert fanfiction should be as inclusive as possible.

If not, it’s hard to call it reader insert in the first place.

I’m not talking about personality here. I’m not talking about whether “y/n” drinks coffee if you hate it. I’m not talking about if the reader-insert is shy when you’re not.

This is about physical appearance. This is about body type. This is about race. It’s a tough subject to approach, but I’m going to.

Before I go any further, I want anyone reading this to know I am not claiming to be perfect. Of course I will also make mistakes. With those mistakes, I sincerely hope people call me out on them. I want to know when I’ve done wrong – when I have offended anyone – so that I can learn and grow. Please, if you have anything to say regarding this post or the topic in general, feel absolutely free to contact me.

I haven’t seen a lot of posts that shed some positivity for non-binary Muslims who wear the hijab – I personally sometimes feel it’s frustrating that people see hijabi non-binary people as “female” just because the hijab is an obligation for women. My hijab does not define my gender; only my obligation to my God and my religion!

it’s truly disgusting to see that people are still defending and/or supporting woojin after him being accused of sexual assault by many victims.

in my perspective, woojin’s apology was so insincere. first of all, he called the accusations “weird rumours”. woojin, those are not just some rumours, those are serious claims which should not be taken lightly. the fact he called them “rumours” was a red flag to me. second point, he claimed he had never met this person or had been to that place when the victim never revealed themselves nor revealed where it took place. he was so quick to defend himself, he never realised that the information was never released. last but not least, he promoted himself and said he was preparing for his activities soon. the audacity he has to promote his music while trying to “apologise” to his victims. his company might release a statement regarding these accusations.

now i know this happened recently, but i believe in being on the victims’ side. this could be the “personal reasons” behind woojin’s departure and jyp not disclosing his reasons of doing so. its not easy for victims to come out and share their stories.

what we are going to do is to not drag skz into this as they have no involvement whatsoever. this is not an excuse to hate the boys because of someone else’s wrongdoings. we are standing by skz and supporting their release of in life. remember, skz are now 8 members.

if you are a victim or know someone who’s a victim of sexual violence, don’t hesitate to file a report, tell someone you trust or contact RAINN - they help victims of sexual violence. if you cannot contact RAINN you can contact your country’s hotline.

Chuckles fill the classroom as Han’s fluffy squirrel ears twitch again. Some people have been throwing very tiny balls of paper at them just to see his ears moving but he hasn’t even noticed yet. He’s too focused on his teaching. To be honest you’re kinda bothered by those idiots, where are they? High school?

But on the other hand your heart flutters everytime his little ears move. ‘y/n, you’re so obvious it’s kinda embarrassing’. Your friend says and you roll your eyes. 'I don’t care, I want him to know’. You say and your friend sighs. 'He’s clueless, plus he’s gotta be married, isn’t he like 35?’ She ask and you chuckle. 'He’s 26 you idiot, he skipped some years at school’. You tell her without taking your eyes off Han. 'Stalker much?’ She jokes and you blush lightly. 'Shut up, I heard someone else mentioning it’. You say and your friend sighs again. 'Whatever y/n just forget it, he’s never gonna look at you like that so please give it a chance to some other guy when we go out tonight?’ You’re gonna say something about that but someone else speaks instead. 'Am I boring you? Y/n and y/n’s friend?’ Han asks and you blush. You still can’t believe he knows your name. He never bothers on learning student’s names. 'You could never bore me’. You say and people chuckle softly thinking you’re being sarcastic or something. Han asks you to listen carefully or leave and you apologize so he can carry on with his lesson.

At the end of the class you wait for everyone else to leave and practically kick your friend out so you can be alone with Han. 'Professor can we talk for a moment?’ You ask and he looks at you as he adjust his glasses and puts away some papers. 'Ah, y/n do you have any questions? That’s what happens when you don’t pay attention’. He says and you blush lightly. 'It’s not that. I just wanted to apologize. I was really trying to pay attention but my friend…’ You say and he smiles. 'I see. It’s okay y/n but I hope it won’t happen again’. You nod. 'It won’t’.

As you leave you can’t help but thinking of how his cute squirrel ears were all up when you aproached him. It reminded you of his first day as a professor. He was so nervous and scared. Everyone was whispering about him as soon as he crossed the door. His fluffy ears were all down as he left his stuff on the desk and even while he was introducing himself and his methods.

He was so shy and awkward after finishing his explanation. Then his eyes met yours and you smiled as you gave him a thumbs up. That’s when he finally relaxed and his ears went up making you feel some kind of way. And you have been feeling like that since then.

You’re curious. There has been so much gossiping going around about him since minute one. They say he’s a genius and that’s why he got to be a professor at such young age and that turns you on more than anyone would have imagined. That’s not all he is for you though. He’s just so adorable. He loves teaching Logic, that anyone could tell, and that makes you love philosophy even more if possible. Sometimes when most of the people in your class are bored and not paying attention he looks at you and goes like, 'At least you get it, right y/n? You understand what I’m talking about?’ And your heart just flutters. You nod and smile at him and he gets so happy knowing he’s doing a good job. Also when you look for him in the hallways just to talk about books he recommended and obviously you read and vice versa.

There’s other rumors going around too though. And those are the ones you hear the most. Like tonight. It’s 12am and you’ve been drinking with some classmates after dinner. 'C'mon y/n he’s too much of a nerd even for a professor’. One of your friends says and you sigh. 'Why do you care so much about me liking professor Han?’ You ask a bit more louder than you intended and the rest of the people sitting there turn around to look at you. 'You’re into professor Han??’ One guy asks. 'The nerd who teaches us Logic? I heard he’s a virgin’. He laughs. 'Yeah, some professor asked him out and he got so flustered’. Another person adds. You sigh. 'Guys, what do I care? It’s just a crush. It’s not like I’m gonna date him’.

And it’s not like the thought of him being a virgin just turned you on too at all.
