Unpopular opinion but if you don't enjoy the process you should find a different thing to do.
And I think this is true in general but now I'm talking about it in the context of AI.
If you don't enjoy making art and only care about the end piece and how it'll look and how much traction it"lol get online then making art is not something for you, find something you enjoy from start to finish.
Same goes for writing: if you do not enjoy writing and rewriting and then some more and instead want AI to write for you, being a writer is not something you should pursue.
Sure, not every part of creative process is going to be equally enjoyable but you should get satisfaction from solving the problems along the way and you should get a sense of accomplishment on your way of "making the piece yours" and you should have a sense of ownership once you are done.
None of these things will come from typing in a prompt into chatGPT. And I am sad to see so many people are missing on the opportunity to experience the joy of making something with their own hands and brains.
This. I feel this.

A Patient Burning (Itachi/Ino)
I bring you some Yakuza/Geisha AU ItaIno!
Summary: When Uchiha Itachi learns of his family's imminent demise from the lips of a geisha who has no business knowing the secrets she carries, it sets in motion a chain of events that will end in burning--his, hers, and everything his family has built.
***
“And what, exactly, do you hope to win?” Itachi doesn’t have to raise his voice or threaten violence to make himself known before her. He is possessed of a minatory aura made sharper and more unsettling by the idol’s face he wears. His taunt is a stiletto blade between her ribs, smooth and intimate. “What would you have of me, Geisha?”
“Your patronage,” Ino says, her skin cool and her hands steady.
“I don’t keep geisha.”
“I would have you keep me.”

YEEEESSSSS GIVE ITAINO TO ME!!!
Give it a read and review peeps!
Survive for 10 Minutes with a Werewolf.
I could take him.
Part of becoming an author, or a writer of any kind, is accepting the fact that no matter what you do, you're inevitably going to end up on a watchlist of some sort purely for your Google search history.
And I'll do it again!! XD
Reminder that, just the same as we do with music and food and TV shows, different people have different tastes in fanfic.
Just because one person didn't like your fic that doesn't mean there aren't 10 others out there who will.
No you're not a bad writer, no you don't suck. Not everyone will like your fic, and that's okay <3

For the sixth annual Hiei x Botan week! A few days late, but for Day 2's "Arranged Marriage" prompt!
In honor of Botan x Hiei week, I have been diving into the world of one of my favorite crack ships.
Give it a look and give the writer a review and much love!
Hi I was wondering why you suddenly added white hair to Aleksei
When "A Soul to Keep" came out, people started giving both me and the author grief for having very similar looking characters so I added a white ruff to wolfie and then thought streaks might look cute on his human hair too and it did so I had to go back and adjust 2 chapters worth of hair. And bullshit a reason for the streaks but tbh I love bullshitting lore and he looks so much better this way so a win is a win is a win
(As an aside, neither me nor the author blame each other for the similarities, we both just have the same taste)
Characters can be similar, inspiring and still be their own individuals.
As someone who rps and create characters for my own world, you are going to find people who like the same as you do and characters that almost have the same look and feels but our own twists and spin make them your own.
Instead of shaming people for the similarities, I get excited. "OMG, YOUR A FREAK LIKE ME! LETS BE FRIENDS!" Because 9 times outta 10 you're making a creative friend who you can dive into similar interests on an discover new conepts/designs/story elements you might not have.
And seeing two authors of my favorite works Death Becomes You and The Duskwalker Brides series makes my little fan heart flutter. Became hyper inspire me and my MonsterLoving self so much.
If you haven't checked out either series, you should!
And if you think it's just porn, YOU MISSED THE POINT!
jesus fucking christ
"i wish i could do something 😔 / i wish the wga had a kickstarter or a gofundme, i would throw money at it" good news! it's amazing how you can literally go onto the wga strike website or the wgawest linktree from their twitter and find links to support writers and other workers affected by the strike
I just contributed to THE SNACKLIST to support Entertainment Workers!
Arrrgh I already complained about it but man. Fucking hate how weird people are when it comes to sexuality in art. "Ohhh this only exists because the writer was horny it can't possibly have anything deep to say" fucking imagine if we applied it to other emotions. Sorry Antigones can't possibly be about anything meaningful the writer was clearly just sad. Hamlet isn't a good or interesting play actually it was just Shakespeare being angry.
I've had people say things like "for a horny comic it's surprisingly well written" about Death Becomes You, as if horny being a factor in my comic means that is all it can be defined as and it is by default a lesser genre because of it.
It's fucking absurd, sexuality is literally a massive, foundational part of the human experience and I feel like I'm going insane that people sniff at it as something that's "optional" and "lesser"
Some of you might remember a couple of years ago when Scarlett Johansson sued Disney because she was making significantly less money for Black Widow than was guaranteed in her contract because so many more people watched it on streaming than in theaters, how there was a massive misinformation campaign from Disney that a ton of people on this website (and Twitter and other social media) bought into: That she was a greedy bitch who didn't respect people who needed to stay at home during the pandemic (I believe the word "ableist" was thrown around with aplomb) as opposed to someone who just wanted to be paid what she was owed. What was literally in her contract!!! And where everyone who took more than a couple minutes to actually look into and think about the situation could figure out that her issue wasn't with streaming itself, but with how little streaming was allowed to get away with paying her and other actors. But of course, a lot of people just saw the chance to dunk on a rich woman, and didn't think about it beyond readying some snarky tags and hit reblog. And in doing so, threw their support behind a much wealthier, greedier studio head who is already using similar language to describe the current strike.
Anyway we're going to see a lot of that from studios now, especially now that actors have joined the WGA and it's easier to sell them as rich and greedy than writers, because of this cultural stereotype we have of all Hollywood actors as celebrities. Don't fall for it. SAG-AFTRA represents people like Tom Cruise and ScarJo but it also represents the kind of people who played a Borg in two episodes of Star Trek: Voyager in 1997 or who had one line in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as an enthusiastic audience member. Most actors are not crazy wealthy, and in fact, if you're a big TV fan (especially older TV and genre TV) that likely includes some actor names that you know, who played supporting roles in your fav shows, or who were even a star in something decades ago but haven't done anything major since. The AFTRA side also represents people like radio broadcasters. But even beside that, all workers deserve to be fairly compensated for the work they do, and the threat of replacing them with AI, or real actors being required to sign contracts to allow their likenesses to be used by AI forever without paying them, is an existential threat to acting as a profession in general. The actors are in the right. The writers are in the right. The studios are in the wrong. The studios have exploited new technology to get away with horrifying labor practices for years and their feet need to be put to the fire. Circulate the articles about how poorly the Orange is the New Black cast was compensated for making one of the defining shows of the early streaming boom, and of the studios saying they want to force writers to starve and lose their homes. Don't get distracted by propaganda aping progressive-sounding language about wealthy celebrities. Focus on the real enemy, the truly greedy fat cats who care more about money than people and art: the studios.
Since some people in the notes apparently didn't pick up on this from the phrase "all workers deserve to be fairly compensated for the work they do" in my original post: Just to be clear, I do not think that there is ever a such thing as so rich that you no longer deserve collective bargaining rights. The super rich celebrities also deserve the right to be able to join a union, strike, and negotiate with their employers. It is still exploitation when they are underpaid and overworked and forced to sign their face over to a studio forever as AI, even if what they are underpaid is still more than most people make in a lifetime. They still work very hard; if you've ever been on a film set (I was an extra in a Hollywood film once, so I have), you would know this.
I believe that the ability to unionize is a fundamental human right, full stop. But also I know which website I'm on and that some people here were raised by right-wing assholes and haven't fully questioned everything their parents taught them, and so they aren't necessarily all there on those sorts of Progressive Fundamentals. For that reason, I think it's still important to note that most working actors are not rich; whereas if you throw in with the studios, if you oppose the strike, you are throwing in 100% with greedy rich jerks who want to exploit workers and make the media you love worse.
This is why you always read everything, to get all sides and make a decision. Do not just listen to one side and dig your holes. Do not just read a click-bait title and make up your mind. It's always important to be informed because this shit matters. It is not about who is rich or not (not in this case) but what is right and fair.
