day 3.
I read this quote somewhere, "You're only as strong as the promises you keep to yourself."
Hey Community,
Unearthing You is my place to tap into the deepest parts of myself for self-reflection purposes. For a change, I want to share only positive affirmations so as to bring positivity to myself and also to everyone around me. Hope you'll like it.

day 1.

just about the perspective...
Ever seen students outside an examination hall? They're all full of comments about whether the question paper was difficult, easy or moderate. But did you ever wonder what 'difficult' actually means? It's a measure of how much efforts does an activity requires you to put in. If you're well prepared, it should be easier, else, tough or some might say "moderate". Isn't it obvious that I never cared to notice how relative this term is and how simple it is to change its relativeness. I said simple, not easy. An activity or an exam remains what it is supposed to be, but you judge it from your frame of reference. It can also be said the term measures how prepared you are to face the challenge. We have a really famous proverb in hindi that says, "अंगूर बहुत खट्टे हैं।" (translated to: sour grapes), it means, criticising something you can never have. It might not fit over here, but, what if it does? We often pray for our problems to become easier, but have you ever wished to become tougher than the problem itself? Rarely would've been the case of a "yes". We are all lazy animals wanting our food to be served itself, and if it doesn't; grapes our sour, or it is just too difficult for me. Such an escapist we are, if you related to this, always looking forward to categorising challenges so you set yourself free from the stress. Stop doing that, and start preparing yourself for the upcoming test or project, if you'll be prepared enough, no wonders you'll be the one outside that classroom, saying, "Ahh! it was a cakewalk for me", and to your surprise, you learnt something new, you grew to be a better version of yourself. And,
thanks for reading.
Maybe you’re wrong this time...
“Opinion is really the lowest form of human knowledge. It requires no accountability, no understanding. The highest form of knowledge… is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another’s world. It requires profound purpose larger than the self kind of understanding.”
― Bill Bullard
“After awhile you could get used to anything.”
― Albert Camus
How easy it is for me to realise the veracity of this quote and equally difficult to explain how. As if I know how deep a well is but don’t have the knowledge about metres. Of course scientists will tell us about ‘HOWs’ but can we ever run out of ‘WHYs’, I’m not sure if science has an answer to this. The most obvious thoughts are the most perplexing ones, cause they seem so obvious to be thought about, that we don’t really ever think about them.
I’ve gotten used to overthink about stuff and therefore I’m gonna go overthink this quote. If you’d like to share your thoughts about it, please comment and follow to track my journey of overthinking or maybe introspecting, they’re the same for me. And,
Thanks for reading!
~beliefs~
I believe that mankind's destiny lies in the stars. I believe that candy really did taste better when I was a kid, that it's aerodynamically impossible for a bumble bee to fly, that light is a wave and a particle, that there's a cat in a box somewhere who's alive and dead at the same time (although if they don't ever open the box to feed it it'll eventually just be two different kinds of dead), and that there are stars in the universe billions of years older than the universe itself.
I believe in a personal god who cares about me and worries and oversees everything I do. I believe in an impersonal god who set the universe in motion and went off to hang with her girlfriends and doesn't even know that I'm alive. I believe in an empty and godless universe of causal chaos, background noise, and sheer blind luck.
I believe that anyone who says sex is overrated just hasn't done it properly. I believe that anyone who claims to know what's going on will lie about the little things too.
I believe in absolute honesty and sensible social lies. I believe in a woman's right to choose, a baby's right to live, that while all human life is sacred there's nothing wrong with the death penalty if you can trust the legal system implicitly, and that no one but a moron would ever trust the legal system.
I believe that life is a game, that life is a cruel joke, and that life is what happens when you're alive and that you might as well lie back and enjoy it.”
― Neil Gaiman
“…if a man can be properly said to love something, it must be clear that he feels affection for it as a whole, and does not love part of it to the exclusion of the rest.”

embracing emotions...
If you're feeling down. Don't waste energy resisting the feeling. Be present and trace the emotion to its source.

We need to learn to accept the reality to make this world a better place to live in. Lying to others harms the society but lying to yourself is dangerous not just to you but a lot of lives connected to you. Stop trying to make that lie your reality and just accept the facts, you see accepting the reality is like ripping off the bandage, it hurts for a second but everything appears clearly after then.

lies...
The Blue Fairy : You must learn to choose between right and wrong.
Pinocchio : Right and wrong? But how will I know?
The Blue Fairy : Your conscience will tell you.
Pinocchio : What's a conscience?
Jiminy Cricket : What's a conscience! I'll tell ya! A conscience is that still small voice that people won't listen to. That's just the trouble with the world today...
The Blue Fairy : Now, remember, Pinocchio, be a good boy. And always let your conscience be your guide.
The Blue Fairy : Prove yourself brave, truthful, and unselfish, and someday, you will be a real boy.
The Blue Fairy : Little puppet made of pine, awake. The gift of life is thine.
The Blue Fairy : A boy who won't be good might just as well be made of wood.
We all might be just some other wood puppets, who never learned what was their conscience, otherwise this world would’ve been a nice place to live in.
It’s not a fairytale but the reality of our society, if you felt it was some kiddish moral value story, just read it again, you’ll find the answer.
learning to express...

Opinions🤔
Well i used to have a lot of opinions back then but now the only opinion that i have is it’s okay to not have an opinion. It’s not that I don’t care what’s happening around and I don’t have a stand for something but rather i care a lot about everything and so much, that i fight, a lot of never ending battles inside this little brain of mine everyday regarding what should i support and why, the moment i get a conclusion, there’s some contradiction arising to it. Maybe because we can never classify things as completely wrong or completely right. Everything’s grey. The world is negative and positive too at the same time. Probably i have what we may call a Schrödinger’s opinion *giggles*. It’s not about reality cause it’s more about perception. Rather than what actually exists, it’s about how we perceive the reality and that’s what makes the same thing appear different for different people and we call it an opinion.

Ghosts Exist?
“From the body of one guilty deed, a thousand ghostly fears and thoughts proceed.”
I recently had a conversation with papa about whether ghosts exist or not, not only did he say yes but also he believes in the practises of talking to them. It’s strange how humans can believe in something whose existence is not even proven. What is it that makes us wanna believe in them? Is it the feeling of loss of a loved one that we’re unable to accept and we want to see them eagerly? But they’re all our hallucinations, or are they? Talking about science, energy never dies. Even our body works on some level of energy that’s being derived from several foods, in-fact matter itself is a form of energy (if we go deep into general relativity, e=mc^2). So after death and before burial, when half of the biological processes stop, where does that energy go which is responsible to keep us alive? Does it easily leave the body and floats in surroundings? Or does it stay in there and makes the body unstable? Science straightaway denies the existence of ghosts and conceals it with other factors like low frequency sound, mould, carbon monoxide etc.
There are many other theories given by people to justify their argument of ghosts being real, like, “ghosts persist to exist to finish off their unfinished businesses” and many more. There have also been some historical paintings and scriptures having the mention of ghosts, some stories even say that this concept has been continuing from ancient times when people used to worship their loved one who had deceased, in order to make the spirits happy.
So maybe at the end we may appease ourselves with any theory that we may like but the question still remains unanswered that, “are ghosts just the form of energy which don’t convert into some other form?” And even if the energy does convert into some other form then “does it still has the memories of the person?”
I know this article might sound a bit kiddish but it’s something that I’ve always pondered upon and will always, until satisfied with an answer. Please comment down below to continue the discussion or to answer the question. Thanks for reading.
destiny...
Do I believe in destiny?
I don’t particularly believe in destiny cause destiny says that every event is predetermined but I believe in a similar concept that our life is a game of domino and the blocks are our decisions, falling pattern of every domino is determined by the previous domino and basically it’s the first domino that’s the deciding factor.
Like even the smallest choice that I make today might affect the biggest of situations later in my life.
But then what was my first decision that i ever made? What was the first domino of my life? Was i responsible for its falling or my parents or someone else? This domino story does make sense to me sometimes but then it’s just a vague idea to justify everything that’s happening around.
What are your thoughts about life and how it works?
