AMBA: aids memory + boosts attention
Being a lifestyle, fashion & beauty blogger, I love the ‘escape’ to write about brands that I’m currently indulging in and which inspire me to live a happy life. Often there are topics which don’t neatly come under the lifestyle, fashion or beauty category, and so I am hoping that this post will fit into the ‘lifestyle’ category – because it deals with an aspect of life. As I travel regularly, I…

ZODIAC SIGN WORKOUT
I love my exercise routine which involves yoga, HIIT and planks. This regimen makes me feel energised and ready for the day ahead. However, I was interested to read in Fitness Magazine about workouts that match your zodiac sign. It didn’t occur to me that astrology could have an impact on a workout, I suppose there is a subtle hint in yoga, however it is an interesting concept to combine…

Hello 2017...
Hello 2017…
Hi friendly bloggers! @anoushkazephyraina Well, the whole of 2016 is about finish in just a few hours (for those in the know I’m in London, UK and for those already ushering in the New Year – Happy New Year to you!!) *** I thought I’d write a few lines here to ponder what this year was all about. I can safely say I am over the moon to say good riddance to 2016!! My year started with lots…

Hello friendly bloggers.
Okay so, here’s a question for you: hands up if you find cleaning makeup brushes a cumbersome, laborious task? Oh wow, I see quite a few hands up and yes, you …I see you fidgeting and wanting to raise your hand but exhausted because you’ve JUST cleaned your makeup brush collection and need a quiet moment to find peace & calm. Oh dear…I know how it feels! Well, what if I told you there is now a revolutionary beauty tool in the form of The Practk Palmat™, a simple palm-sized 2-in-1 brush cleaning mat that deep cleans your synthetic and natural bristled makeup brushes super-quick to keep them just like new. And, it’s hands-free! That’s right; your hands are safe now and won’t end up looking like prunes after a brush-cleaning session. Sounds fabulous, right?
Practk™ was formulated by Simone Xavier and Rene Xavier Filho, the founders of innovative and internationally-loved brand Sigma Beauty, offering high quality and affordable beauty tools for the beauty artist, addict or lover. The Palmat ™ comes in a small, easy-to-use, portable compact which is ideal for travelling and at an amazing value of only £8.95 (US $9.95).
The Practk Palmat™ is a saviour for Makeup Artists who are out on location and who need clean makeup brushes on the go without having to worry about drying time (time is money, as they say!) and due to its compact size, once dried, it can be thrown into your makeup bag/kit or into a waterproof bag along with your makeup essentials. It’s easy to store too!
The Practk Palmat™ (@zephyraina)
Let’s take a closer look at The Practk Palmat™
The Palmat™ comes in a gorgeous purple colour – just so you know, I love purple and its spiritual connotations! ;-) I am hoping there will be more colour choices, as we designer-folk love our range of colours! ;-)
The Practk Palmat (@zephyraina)
There are two circular durable, high-grade silicone mats which are connected allowing you to either:
(1) Slip the mat over your hand, and fasten each side with the help of an adjustable strap, suits all hand sizes, left-handed or right-handed. (Very comfortable to wear and securely fits the hand!)
(2) You can place it directly into your sink as there are a number of sucker pads on the base which suction the mat in place, allowing the water to drain away from the mat (Very practical and hands-free!)
The Practk Palmat (@zephyraina)
Both options allow the water to drain away from the mat effortlessly regardless of whether it’s on your hand or placed in the sink
***
One side of the two mats features large rounded bumps and small circular bristles which are designed for cleaning your face brushes. The other mat has a lined criss-cross bristle design; the small circular bristles are for cleaning eye and lip brushes.

Criss-cross line texture
Integrated into both mats are two sections: one to ‘WASH’ the brushes, and the other to ‘REFINE’ the brush to ensure the brush is reshaped after washing and this is highly effective for smaller, precise eye brushes.

Personally, I love anything that makes my life easier. If something does the job as it says on the label, then I am uber-happy! The Palmat™ 2-in-1 Brush Cleaning Tool is just that, does what it says and delivers more than expectation. It’s a great source of relief and comfort to beauty enthusiasts like me who need super-efficient beauty tools and I will definitely be keeping The Palmat™ as an essential wherever I go. Proudly, I can now say ‘goodbye to dirty makeup brushes’ with The Practk Palmat™ 2-in-1 Brush Cleaning Tool.

The Practk Palmat™ Hello friendly bloggers. Okay so, here’s a question for you: hands up if you find cleaning makeup brushes a cumbersome, laborious task?
Hello friendly bloggers, I hope you’re all well.
As December arrives soon, the days are becoming dark, grim, chilly and windy and only a smattering of sun can be seen peeking through. It’s on these days like these that I want to shut out all the gloominess of outside and explore feeling cosy inside my home, lighting candles (scented and unscented), smelling the aroma of fresh coffee, delicious focaccia bread baking in the oven, switching on twinkly lights to welcome in the festive season, enjoying sheer and utter pure joy at simple things that make me happy. What I am doing here in my home dear friendly blogger is called ‘HYGGE’ (pronounced hoo-gah) – a Danish concept meaning cosy. This winter tradition encapsulates anything from getting cosy and cuddling by the fire to enjoying a candlelit meal.
It’s been reported that simple pleasures like this help boost wellbeing. And I’m all for indulging in simple pleasures and wellbeing! :-)
Here are a few images from my Instagram exploring some hygge….

Fall Back and Festivities
Hello friendly bloggers! Well, it’s been ages since I last blogged and I apologise… Life has so many twists and turns, things need to be sorted out, filed away and then when you’re about ready to take on a new day there’s something else to do! *whelp* Anyway…… So, now that the clocks have gone back one hour and enjoying the extra hour in bed and a comfy lie in, I took a moment to enjoy my…

Hello friendly bloggers!
As I am now gearing up for more autumnal shades in the eye-makeup department due to the weather now drastically changing (rain, winds, Lunar eclipse!!), I thought I’d share a few favourite shades I’ve been using these past few months in the form of neutrals, browns and champagne!
@zephyraina

MakeUpAcademy MUA Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Heaven & Earth’ | RRP £4.00 | This palette is great for both day and night giving the perfect natural look. Just glide a light shade along the brow bone, and brush any one of the beautiful bronze shades over the lid for a simple, gorgeous, foolproof neutral look that lasts!
| More information at: http://www.muastore.co.uk/ |
ModelCo More Brows (medium/dark) | An amazing product from Australian beauty brand ModelCo who have solved the problem of overplucked eyebrows! This is a brush-on fibre gel that’s quick-drying and darkens, defines, reshapes & thickens your arches for fuller brows. Application: Tap excess gel from brush and apply directly to brow in short, upward strokes. Then, use the tip of the brush to shape and style brows as desired. Let it dry for approximately one minute for a natural finish.

Birchbox’s makeup brand LOC (Love of Color) One & Done Shadow Stick | Love this! I have the shade ‘Champagne Problems’ which I adore! It’s a pale rose gold and I don’t need a makeup brush to apply, I just tap/smudge the shadow stick over my eyelid and that’s it – job done! So good to have when you’re on the go or just want a simple makeup routine. Another great thing about it is that it’s paraben-and cruelty-free. Yay!
