eva stratt: you have no immediate family, you dont even have a dog the fandom: erm actually đ¤âď¸
i was really pissed off when she said this actually because those students he taught loved him an awful lot. Like, maybe they're not family, but it's not like no one would grieve for grace.
yeah, and i think what was happening in this scene is that she was trying to get him to make the same sacrifices she herself was making. she had no dog, she had no immediate family. she is sacrificing everything for this mission (she knows she'll go to jail after this) and shes trying to make him understand that theyre in the same boat and shes asking him to make that sacrifice too
YES! but the thing is they're NOT in the same boat. They're in completely different boats.
Stratt is making a lot of sacrifices, and i like to think she sacrificed the rest of her life in a way, because of all the guilt for sending three human beings up into space. But she can heal.
Grace can't. He's going to die, and his students are going to mourn him. Stratt is asking him to make an irrevokable sacrifice. He can do nothing once the choice is made, and his students will have to grieve him. They really did love him okay, he was a great teacher and the world needs more of those.
AND THEN THE CHOICE WAS MADE FOR HIM DSDFATRGDFVZ
