Fussy

Everyone insists I'm fussy cause I dont eat a big variety. People say I'm fussy cause I order everything plain. I dont eat tomatoes or onions or mushrooms or peppers. But I'm not fussy.

I have sensory issues. Certain texture make me want to throw up or essentially short circuit. I dont mind the taste of many things. The texture just overwhelms me. I get things plain because too many different textures overwhelm me. I'm not fussy.

When I was younger birth giver tried to get me used to tomatoes. She made me eat a whole tomato a day for 10 days because she read somewhere that it works. I still cant eat them and everyday I'd eat the tomatoes in the bathroom to prevent throwing up everywhere like I did on day one. She still insists I'm fussy. I'm not fussy.

Eating certain things feels equivalent to hearing nails on a chalk board while others are fine, others make me gag, others make me throw up, others make me cry and others overwhelm my senses. I'm not normal. I'm treated like a fussy toddler even though I'm 17.

What you get is what you eat. The amount of times I had to run away from the dinner table to throw up or scrape the sensations off my tongue only to come back and do it again because it was on my plate. The amount of times I pretended I was sick to avoid dinner. The amount of tears spilt before dinner because I knew what was coming is honestly horribly sad. I'm not fussy.

This is just how I was born.

Lazy

Since I turned 9 I've been called lazy. I'm not lazy.

I love cooking, baking, going out, reading, dancing, making, learning, singing, working out and so much more. The problem is I dont do those things anymore. But it's not because I'm lazy.

I dont do anything anymore. I put on mind-numbing tv, read comics and scroll through tumblr in all my free time. I eat McDonalds every single day because its quick and easy. But its not because I'm lazy.

I struggle to get out of bed, I have no motivation, no will to survive yet alone thrive, I've lost the thrill that comes with doing what I love, I eat junk instead of cooking, I dont leave my room on weekends or holidays and sometimes even during the school week. But it is not because I'm lazy.

In my experience most of the time people are not just lazy. Something is preventing them from doing things. From functioning. From thriving. People insist I'm lazy when I honestly try my hardest to do things. I try but I fail more often then not. When I succeed I'm met with sarcasm and congrats on doing what anyone can do easily when it legit take all my energy to even get up in the first place.

We are not lazy.
