Introduction Post

Hello everyone, I'm Lucy and since this has become my primary social media besides Twitch (LucyRiver), it is probably time for an intro post :3

DNI: if I fall under your DNI

My pronouns are he/him. Please do not call me a man, woman, lady. Gender-wise, I'm nonbinary, (gender)queer, trans masc and trans neutral, and butch as a gender.

I'm bisexual (and I also identify with pansexual or m-spec in general, but prefer bisexual out of those). The bi pride flag is my fave pride flag. I also consider myself gay for all genders.

I'm on the aromantic spectrum. The mental line for me between romantic partner or close friend I (would) have sex with is very thin. I am in a 'romantic' (atypical) relationship with my partner Tom. It is long distance and there's little hope of that changing any time soon :(

I am polyamorous. I have no issues with having multiple partners, whether romantic or sexual, as long as everyone agrees to it. I don't really get jealousy when it comes to relationships. I'd be more like encouraging my partner(s) to explore than anything else. Fun fact: this is one of my first identities I ever figured out.

I identify highly as queer, both in an LGBTQIA+++ way and in a more general way. I was always the weird kid, the nerd, the outsider. And I've embraced it by now.

I'm autistic and disabled. I am most disabled my my social anxiety and by lack or energy and executive dysfunction.

I'm radically inclusive considering almost anything. I am anti gatekeeping. We are stronger together. I'm very anti-capitalism and sceptical of governments/politicians.

I am anti harassment/abuse/bullying and anti call-out posts which are most of the times just calls to harass specific (and in my experience usually marginalised) people.

I try to tag common triggers as much as I can and know about them. I try to include image descriptions or transcripts and look through notes for descriptions. If there's something you'd like me to tag for, or need a description for something I reblogged, please feel free to message me and ask. Anything lewd or NSFW will be tagged Lewdcy on main

My hobbies/interests are video games, cooking, various creative pursuits, fan fiction, animals, board/card games, gender and sexuality, nature, autism and disability in general.

sometimes, when someone is criticizing the stay-at-home-wife movement being sold to young women by conservatives, it loses focus on the "selling you a repressive and authoritarian worldview" point and slides into... well... implicitly leaving disabled people to die.

and what i mean by that is, it's all well and good to say you should do everything in your power to make sure you're not financially dependent on another person... but what if "everything in your power" is "nothing?"

what if how society is structured means you have absolutely no choice but to be financially dependent on another person? what if it's that, or simply die? this is the choice disabled people are faced with. not even uncommonly... frequently. people who need full-time carers, or who have very expensive medication and assistive tech needs, or people who simply can't work in the current job structure, often have the choice of... well... find someone to be financially dependent on, or face a slow, painful death, usually without housing. even if you're lucky enough to get on a fixed income, it's never enough to even make monthly rent, and that's not counting the extra costs of food, toiletries, medicine...

in fact, a lot of disabled people (certainly notably women, but absolutely not limited to, and in fact i see this happen to trans men over and over again, and i've lost a dear transmasc friend because of this) are funneled into being stay-at-home parents and homemakers, forced to do all of the domestic labor and childcare in exchange for a roof over their head and access to their medications/assistive tech, and isolated in all the same ways tradwives are isolated. in fact, this even happens with leftist partners/parents. all the time, i see disabled people disappear from public life entirely, lose contact with all their friends, and consign themselves to a life of cleaning up after someone while struggling to handle their own health needs, even having their disabilities exacerbated and their lifespans shortened by the amount of domestic labor they're required to do.

but it isn't a choice... it can't be fixed by focusing on academia or work... and it's not due to buying into conservative propaganda. all i ask is, please remember this, and please never leave us out of these discussions.

Also, caring for children (ones you created or otherwise) is important, valuable work that should be supported and compensated.

Not to mention that everyone in the working classes is "financially dependent on another person" under capitalism. The difference between you and a homemaker is a layoff. The difference between you and an unhoused person is a layoff plus a divorce. The difference between you and an unhoused disabled person is a layoff, a divorce, and an injury.

More than once i have had a younger/same age queer person come up to me in public settings and say something about “finding other gays” or clearly clocking me as nonbinary and I’m like :)))))))) hey buddy I’m here with my conservative parents can you fucking not out me :))))))))

Just say you like my outfit or hair and move on, fuck even tell me you like my shoelaces. Don’t call me gay and limp your wrist at me when you don’t even know me? Especially when there’s a bunch of ppl around?

i was out with my ex once when three *very* young queer kids, like thirteen years old, came up to us and asked us “are you guys, you know…” and did the limp wrist thing at us. one of them loudly exclaimed that it was so cool to meet other queer people in real life. this was in public in an unbelievably conservative area - we didn’t even feel safe holding hands because we were surrounded by Mormons. we got lucky that day, but I’m begging y’all to remember that the world doesn’t work like the internet. other queers are real fuckin people. don’t do this shit. OP is right; tell me you like my jacket, or my patches, or the rainbow spokes on my wheelchair, but don’t out either of us!

This used to be standard operating procedure not even ten years ago: NEVER OUT OTHER QUEERS, even if they’re supposedly already out. Never assume that it’s okay to let third parties know that so-and-so is queer. Ever. You never know when you’ve found the one uncle with the heart condition that they can’t bear to risk telling, or the one neighbor who’s just threatening enough that they don’t mention it around, or even the grandma that they haven’t gotten around to mentioning it to yet. You might have just ruined a very important milestone for someone, or you could have put them at actual risk of harm.

Also… stop freaking assuming. If you don’t see a pride flag on them, please don’t just assume. You can’t tell ANYTHING about a person’s gender or partner preferences by what they’re wearing on any given day, what their hair looks like, or whether or not they’re using makeup. You legit cannot, and you look like a jerk when you try.

Okay, listen. As like a society in general we just need to do waaay better when it comes to bodyshaming men. And I mean all men, trans and cis alike. But we need to apply it to literally every man. And I mean every single one - even the bad ones. Cause speaking as a fat cis man with a very small dick, I still struggle to this day with body dysmorphia about it. I always have and I turn 34 in a month. And I fucking hate Donald Trump with my whole entire being and am in fact eagerly awaiting the day he meets his hopefully painful end, but constantly having to see and hear people make jokes about his allegedly tiny dick still just makes most men who also have a small dick make the ''man with small dick = vile little evil man'' equation in their head. And yes, Trump *is* a vile and evil man for sure, but we cannot say that bodyshaming is okay to do to some people because they're bad because it just makes everyone with similar body features think that they should be ashamed for it as well. Why is it still more or less entirely socially acceptable to bodyshame people with a small dick???? Why is it still socially acceptable to body shame men in general???? Bodyshaming sucks, and it ruins people's lives more often than I think people care to believe. We need to come to the collective conclusion that ''bodyshaming is never acceptable, not to anyone, including the bad people who wouldn't themselves hesitate to body shame others''.

Some of y'all really need to get comfortable fast with the idea that a healthy community generally contains peripheral members who aren't themselves in the community demographic, but are still socially part of that community.

Also, like, I realize this is currently Unpopular Opinion Material, but it honestly should be a freezing cold take: you can absolutely be cishet AND queer. Those aren't mutually exclusive things. Queerness works on so many more axes than just sexual orientation and birth-assigned gender congruency.

I just want y’all to know that one time during lockdown I played a lot of Minecraft because I had nothing better to do and then later I was going to go into my room after a shower so I could go back to being a hermit but it was dark so I just thought “oop, can’t go in there, there’ll be skeletons spawning there and they’ll shoot at me”

And for LIKE FIVE WHOLE SECONDS I didn’t question it and I just turned on the lights and walked out into the living room to wait it out, just thankful I had my pajamas on already so I didn’t have to fight off the shooty skeletons in my dark closet where there might be some creepers too

And then all of a sudden I was like “Wait what the frig skeletons aren’t real” and then just went back into my room

And I think about that a lot. So if ANY OF YOU dare to think that I have any more than three and a half braincells on a really good day, just please remember this and know that you are sorely mistaken

hey to all those people a few months ago in mine and Jenny's notifs saying "cis guys are so sensitive lol whats wrong with being called a trans girl" i want you to know you actively made it feel less safe for my friend to transition for, quite literally, years. there is a difference between speculating openly about the gender of a fictional character, and the gender of a living human being who has asked people to stop doing so.

you didnt "force open" the egg. you didnt help. you told her "this isnt your choice, nor is it important. what you are is mundane and obvious, and we can all see it. stop pretending." that isnt encouragement. thats impatient and reductive. that's childishness. you threw an ideological tantrum when she asked you to stop. you threw a bigger one when other trans girls who actually know her asked you to stop.

you arent her friend. it wasnt your place to speak with familiarity as if you were. you made it more difficult for a public figure to come out as trans, and she was asking you to stop the entire time. that is the irrevocable truth.

there is no universal "best way" to have your egg cracked. if you keep trying to crack eggs that you shouldn't, youre going to end up with a lot of dead birds who you denied the opportunity to fly, all because you wanted to be in some part responsible for how beautiful you thought it might become.
