The worst employment experience of my life was at a small business. My boss berated me in front of all my coworkers for things I wasn’t even aware I was doing wrong. She accused me of “sabotaging her business.” Seriously, I was accused of sabotage. I was making $7.50 an hour, and she tried to pass herself off as some magnanimous figure who was too good for me. She said: I was a manager at Dillards and you are the worst employee I’ve ever had. She said this bullshit to my fucking face in front of everyone. Okay, I need to go chill out now because I always get upset when I bring this up. Just be aware, I barely scratched the surface of how bad it was

Middle school student arrested after allegedly sharing AI-generated nude photos of classmates

The student was charged with 10 counts of unlawful dissemination of images created by artificial intelligence.

Boy is making AI nude images of female students. Female student reports this behavior to administrators. They are still both allowed on the same bus going home. Boy continues to flaunt the AI nude images of girl on the bus. Girl gets into “physical altercation” with the boy. Girl is expelled.

Later, boy is charged with 10 counts of “unlawful dissemination of AI images”, which seems to be creating child porn of your female classmates.

Girl is allowed to return to school, but the expulsion is kept on her record.

Listen. If I find out my daughter reports that some fucking twerp has made fake porn of her and then that same boy is allowed to go home and keep taunting her on the bus with the naked images and you expel her when she fights back? I’m suing the whole fucking school district and that boy into smithereens.

I want to see one adult in that room not start a fight if they find out someone is creating AI porn of their children.

I think some adults are still viewing what these kids are doing as “stupid teenage internet stuff,” and it’s causing a problem.

If you tell a person “someone used AI to make fake pictures of you” ok, whatever, why do I care.

But if I take a picture of you standing in front of me and 5 seconds later show you a picture of your naked body and then threaten to send it to your boss and post it all over Facebook and maybe send it your husband while I’m at it, suddenly you understand how horrified this girl feels.

If a boy flashes a girl a fake photo of her naked body, she’s probably imaging more just shame and humiliation from friends and family. She’s seeing coaches not playing her in competitions, principals expelling her from schools, colleges rescinding applications, bosses turning away resumes. That fake photo is a threat against her future.

She’s gonna fight you for that. There’s a reason “revenge porn” exists, it’s because it works.

It’s just incredible how early boys realize they have power over girls and how early they find enjoyment in harassing and oppressing girls. Teacher here for kids between 10 and 12.

11 years old is perfectly old enough to learn a lesson by watching or reading something that makes them uncomfortable. Sometimes it’s the only way to get a message through to a preteen. Remember when we had to watch videos of former smokers with black lungs and holes in their neck to stop us from smoking? I was in sixth grade when my school’s CAPE program (kind of like DARE) started showing those. And believe it or not, they worked on me because I’ll never touch a cigarette in my life😂

It’s our job as adults in a child’s life to educate them on things like this. The OOP did the right thing, she didn’t just say to her brother “shut up and don’t say that,” she showed him why saying that was wrong and made a connection to his own life (“is that someone you want out of jail?”).

The video might make him feel uncomfortable for a while (and it should) but he’ll probably remember it in the future. 10-12 is when kids really test boundaries and say things to get a reaction out of people, and sometimes you have to show them not only that it’s not funny but why it’s not funny.

Thank fuck Facebook did the right thing and took it down, but these women need justice, and the men need to be punished and prevented from doing this again.

Some women will never want children in their life in any meaningful capacity. They don't want to give birth. They don't want to adopt. They don't want to be the fun auntie. They will never change a child's diaper and don't believe their lack of childcare skills is a problem that needs fixing, because childcare is not a crucial part of the human experience, with billions of people on the planet. They go about their day while only seeing kids out at the grocery store or at the park, and nothing is missing from their lives.

And don't start with me about the stigma of "homeless" - being homeless is inherently a bad thing. It is a negative state of affairs. It's honestly kind of ghoulish that you'd try to promote a word that obscures how horrific it is that there are people in our community without a safe place to live.

And I really hate it because it reduces that horror to a person's relationship to a commodity. A house is a thing you buy or rent. These people don't have one. No further implications are made about why they don't have one. You might as well call me un-labubued. A home is more than that, and saying a person is homeless is an indictment of their entire community. As well it should be. Homelessness isn't a problem of one person's relationship to a commodity, it's a problem of a community that fails to meet the needs of its members.

When my wife went in for surgery before we got married, it was me and her horrifically homophobic mother in the surgery center waiting room and I knew without a doubt that if anything went wrong, I would be expected to leave without any access to her belongings, the pictures of us on her phone, or the funeral itself, and the obituary would not mention me or our relationship at all.

And that was after almost a decade of marriage equality! The fear and anxiety leading up to that surgery and the recovery process after reinforced for me just how important marriage can be. It’s a form of self-determination.

"Sometime in 2013, I was driving with my trans girlfriend of 3 years. They were angry with me. We parked in a parking lot. They became more angry with me because I talked back. I do not remember what the fight was about. From the passenger seat, they lunged at me and slammed my head three times against my driver’s side window. I became dazed. My vision blurred. My cheek was bleeding from their nails. My hearing was foggy. As I turned to look at them, I saw their face fall and the tears gathering in their eyes. Numbly, I reached for them. I held them as they cried. They were sorry (as domestic abusers often are). They were experiencing intense self-hatred, self-disgust, and sadness. I pet their hair and told them everything was going to be okay until I had to open my door and throw up.
