addison rae found dead in miami
sorry not to pit two queens against each other i find addison rae relatively charming but if thee rebecca black did this to one of my silly little pop tunes i would have to commit seppuku

One time I was leaving a friend's place and an older lady with basically no English came up to me and communicated that she was very cold and needed a ride. She pointed to tell me where to go.
I got there and her daughter or granddaughter came out and was like omg her phone died we were worried
And then the older lady said something and the younger lady translated.
"She knew she could trust you because you have pink hair"
I thought it was funny at the time. But when I think back on it I think she was basically saying "you had a visible sign of not vibing with the system I was afraid of"
Be weird. Be colorful. Help random people.

you will probably not look like a skinny white anime girl when you transition you will likely look like someone's mom and you need to realize how swag this is
I saw a picture of my mom last week and did a double take because we both realized how similar we look. skinny white anime girls are not real women but your mom is. I promise you look like a real woman

If you need glasses to see clearly, have you ever avoided wearing them specifically because you don't like how they look on you?
Yes, many times/regularly
Yes, sometimes
Yes, occasionally/rarely
No, how they look on me hasn't affected whether I wear them or not

please behold the 24 Hours of Lemons race, in which you can only spend $500 total on a car to cross country race for 24 hours
named after the legendary 24 hour Le Mans race, Lemons rallies barely legal cars in an endurance race across America. had the privilege of sharing the freeway with this race and seeing the absolute art od this event
This is so American I could CRY
oh this is nothing. some of my favorite lemons entries are:
an airplane stuck on a toyota minivan
this miata built by rocket scientists
the mr2 boat
the nyan cat bmw that i think actually played the song at all times
the homer simpson car built by uranium workers
this limo whose brakes caught on fire
the dumbest corolla and supra wearing funny hats
and so much more. 24 hours of lemons my beloved
The absolute metaphorical snarl that is a Limo modeled after the titanic called "unstoppable", whose breaks caught fire, is just, absolutely sending me
@miata-detector
ohhh ive been! my favorite was a car that wasn't properly cooled so they installed a barbecue in the engine to slow cook ribs while they race!
no idea if this counts as a lemon or if it raced but I NEED you guys to see chewbaru
It is covered in teeth, dentures, toothpaste, various bones, and several baby doll and mannequin heads which IF I remember right had teeth put in them
@brosser-les-dents
No, *hides* omg it's horrifying. 🫣😂
Remember to brush and floss your teeth car?
Whether or not somebody has any interest in or inclination towards polyamory and whether or not somebody is questioning their sexuality, I think it's worth it for everybody to spend some time deconstructing the expected outline of a straight, monogamous relationship and ask themselves what reasonable boundaries look like in a romantic connection built on trust and unpossessive love, not primarily but not insignificantly because this will prevent videos from popping up on my Instagram feed of aggressively heterosexual women saying things like "it's cheating if I work out with a guy who isn't my husband"
Kindness is the only way to survive.

normal people in SF are fucking sick of every billboard being for AI slop
takes a real artist to go "i have to deface this billboard promoting an evil corporation's evil product. but crucially☝️the typeface and kerning must match or else it's cringe"
my mum has severe knee problems and needs a replacement. Today she was told she's too fat to be operated on and the knee specialist suggested she gets a gastric band - which also involves surgery. So my mum was like first of all you didn't read my file because it explains that I'm not fat because I eat too much second of all you said it's impossible for me to get surgery and then suggested I get a surgery about it? He then asked her her weight and height, didn't believe her answer, and made her prove it to him because she "looks fatter than that". So she was like so you also just entirely based this on looks instead of actual numbers?
My mom went through something similar. She needed a knee replacement and her doctor wouldn’t okay it until she lost weight, which was difficult given the whole knee problem preventing her from walking thing. He told her she was too dangerous to operate on and that there were just too many risks.
My mom tried to lose weight in vain for months before she finally gave into my begging her to get a second opinion. The first doctor she saw next scheduled her for surgery the same day she met him. When my mom asked about the risk of operating on her he told her that there was some minor risks for complication and that all she would need to do to alleviate the risk was spend an extra night in the hospital so that they could keep a look out for any complications.
There were zero. There were also zero complications when she had her other knee done, her hip replaced and her gallbladder removed.
Almost like the first doctor was entirely full of shit and just trying to coerce his patient to lose weight by scaring her for fucking nothing, even when she was living day to day in excruciating pain and desperately needed a surgery.
one thing that does often actually genuinely break my heart about aromanticism is that it opens so many ontological pathways to methodologies that would unilaterally improve people's lives but most people can't even be bothered to learn about aromanticism much less apply those lessons to themselves
being aromantic (and being aspec in general) prompts you to unlearn the thought that a romantic relationship is going to fulfill you in a way that nothing else can. to unlearn that your worth is tied to your desirability. to unlearn that your life is defined by love. it prompts you to restructure your relationships. to reevaluate the ways in which the people around you contribute to your life and the ways in which you want to engage with them. it shows you that everything we know about relationships is defined by social constructs that don't need to be heeded. it opens you to a life of such blissful freedom and i feel such a sense of grief for the way that this information never seems to get beyond us
the fact that we're in a day and age where you can get dueted by malala. how can you show your face in public after this
Big fan of this one as well.
Malala coming out of her well to shame lazy students
And misogynistic men!
honestly I'm very grateful that I got involved in queer community organizing basically as soon as I turned 18, because that's how I was exposed to other queer people saying things like "I just wouldn't trust a bisexual" and "I don't believe in that privilege stuff" and "I don't like when people act like you have to be a feminist if you're gay," all of which taught me at a very young age the crucial truth that queer people can be very stupid and very wrong
I think there's a pervasive tendency among very young baby queers to get kind of dazzled by being among other gay people for the first time and that combined with the heady drug of the first taste of independence can really make you start thinking of The Queer Community(TM) like it's one big enlightened rainbow utopia but unfortunately we have dipshits and malevolent freaks like every other demographic. Peter Thiel is in here.
my condolences to the people learning that Peter Thiel is gay from this post
really obsessed with the way the responses to this are ranging from "a queer person I know who still buys harrypotter merch" to "a queer person in my country's government who is also an out and proud nazi"
I remember hearing in a video years ago that the most popular ride to work at in Disney World was the Tower of Terror, because it was the only place you didn't have to pretend to be happy all the time - gloominess was part of your character.
I am SO pleased to see that the staff at the Edward Gorey museum have embraced this. I would gladly go back to a minimum wage front desk position if I got to tell guests "I suppose I must let you in. Feel free to wander the first floor. The director might come downstairs and give a talk. He might not. Life is full of disappointments." A++, only made better by the many children running around underfoot trying to find various murder weapons in the gashlycrumb tinies scavenger hunt
This is their contact page btw

I have the most beautiful news which is - When my eldest niece was a toddler, we all - Me, two of my biker friends, and four generations of my family - went to see the fireworks at the beach, and she got cold and sleepy so I wrapped her up in my leather jacket and denim kut covered in patches from bike rallies and sat her on my bike so she could warm herself up on the still-hot engine, where she fell asleep.
Her Mam took a photo, and I jokingly said "One day, if she's gay, she'll be able to impress girls with that picture."
Anyway, today she texted me and said that a girl she likes was really impressed with the photo of her as a baby hanging out with the bikers.
