EBONY DARK'NESS DEMENTIA RAVEN WAY HAS CRASHED THE SUPERWHOLOCK WEDDING
how is this how i learned about dashcon 2.2
I don't understand how this is even a defence in the age of drone warfare.
Or even like... Cannon warfare.
Yeah, the Ottomans could have taken this in the fourteenth century.
One siege tower and that shits cooked
prev nailed it
If you're building defenses *during* a zombie apocalypse you gotta use what's on hand, but building this *before* a zombie apocalypse, this is a terrible choice. You'd be better off with a normal (very tall) metal fence, with metal bars that you can see between. Not only would that let your garden, solar panels and home get some FUCKING SUNLIGHT, but you could see and attack zombies through the fence with polearms. And it's easy to find and repair issues with the fence; zombies put a hole in one of these shipping containers (not hard if there's a lot of zombies) and repairs are a much bigger job. Also, you have to kill zombies that are now INSIDE YOUR WALLS.
These walls make the only avenue of attacking zombies shooting down from the walls and towers. Which massively reduces your attack angles, means you can't get any that happen to be attacking from a blind spot, and means that your defence is completely reliant on bullets. If the problem is zombies (which, traditionally, are not known for their marksmanship), this is an awful defence against them. A normal metal bar fence would be much better.

Writers, which software do you use?
Google docs
Microsoft word
Ellipsus
Libre office - writer
Notepad (the fuck is wrong with you lol)
Pages
Other (comment, please, esp if you recommend it)
Checking results
I used to use Google docs, but the white mode only was really annoying me (tires my eyes), so I swapped to Ellipsus (which I genuinely love and recommend), but it was bothering me a bit that I need wifi in order to use it, so now I switched to LibreOffice Writer, which I do like.
It very much has a Microsoft Word feel, but is open source and you need no accounts to use it. It's local on your device, so no AI can scan it, and no wifi is needed.
I still wish it had the Google Docs cards, because, bitch, that thing is so good for easy organizing.
Me (A time traveler visiting 20-year old Mozart): OK, so, this is called an electric guitar, basically instead of the body functioning as a resonance chamber, it produces music by harnessing the power of lightning. Do you have any other questions?
Mozart (Currently shredding Violin Concerto No. 1 on the guitar, having figured it out within 30 seconds): What other music can be made from harnessed lightning?
Me (Loading up some heavy dubstep): Oh, we're just getting started.
I strongly believe that every classical music piece is inherently metal or at least gothic rock, they just didn't have the instruments for it yet
Ah Purcell was a genius (now I have to listen the whole King Arthur, poor me:D).
And I totally agree. Now I want to listen for example the Confutatis from the Requiem in metal.
if you want, there's entire albums based on this concept
You are trying to move into an apartment with your favorite Pokemon. The building is strict about which Pokemon are allowed inside but it’s super affordable. How hard do you think it will be to convince the landlord to let you keep it in the building?
Easy as can be, perfect apartment dweller
Might take some convincing
Basically a coin flip
It will be an uphill battle but I might be able to, while saying goodbye to my deposit
No increased rent, deposit or argument could convince any landlord to let us in

I got frost bite on my fingers back in January during the giant blizzard that hit the northeast coast of the US. It wasn't like bad bad, and while I was out in the cold for an hour and a half without gloves, most of that time my hands were in my (raincoat) pockets, so they didn't get too cold. It was the last five or ten minutes in the cold, where I was carrying a cane and a roller bag suitcase (without gloves, in 14 degrees, then minus windchill) to catch the bus that my hands got super painful (I was crying from the pain). I got some light blistering at the base of my fingernails. My hands warmed back up on the bus and it was ok.
Later that night, like four hours later, I had to unbury my car. Fortunately I had my winter coat and gloves at that point (they were in my car), but my hands did get wet (it was wet snow), and I had to stop a fair amount to warm my hands back up because they got cold so easily.
So now, it's exactly five months later and I have itchy dry patches of skin on all my fingers that just never go away, no matter what i do. My hands are very sensitive to hot and cold and they get cold very easily. My dermatologist had recommended a steroid ointment that I use for eczema to relieve the itching but it doesn't work, and it just makes my skin thinner and more prone to splits.
I've done some reading and I know that I can expect the nerves to take months or years to properly heal. But it's the dry itchy skin that's making me nuts. I do have an appointment with my doctor this week to see if she knows of anything that can be done. But this morning it occurred to me to ask on here.
Do any of you know anything that might help relieve the dry skin and itching (or, I dunno, promote nerve healing)? Just gonna tag those of you I follow who seem to know everyone else or who might have this as an intense interest.

I have an update! Met with a new nurse practitioner (we really clicked, I liked her a lot, she is my age). She told me she had to actually research my condition 'cos she's not run into it before (she did this BEFORE meeting with me UNHEARD OF). She found information that suggests part of the lesion issue is that my blood vessels are remaining constricted no matter what, even when they're supposed to be dilating. So we're going to experiment with a vaso dilator medicine (blood pressure medicine).
We went over possible side effects and she discussed a study that tried this with folks who have chillblains. Yes, I have chillblains. She said she didn't even think they were a real thing until she researched this. So basically I have the fingers of an 18th century person. The study she was looking at had pretty dramatic results on a fairly small sample size, but since the medicine in question doesn't have a lot of negative side effects, we're gonna give it a go.
Here's hoping that the lesions heal! I know the nerves are going to take years. Still, at least she's fully on board with trying other things if this doesn't work on the lesions.
I was utterly floored at how many of you so thoughtfully replied and I've written down all the suggestions and will be working my way through them. Thank you all so very much.
I've been taking the nifedipine since Thursday. It makes me feel a little weird if i take it on an empty stomach. Not as weird with food.
I also got some cotton gloves and have been sleeping with those on after slathering bag balm on my hands. My fingers are looking better and the itching has reduced a lot, though I still get bouts of it now and then. The lesions on my skin are still there, but I think they're improving. It's hard to tell this soon. But hopefully I'm on the right track here.
Thank you, everyone, for all you've said. I sent much of the information to my NP and she actually read it! She agreed whole heartedly about never putting a steroid on an open wound. If my fingers don't improve she says we'll reach out to rheumatology next. But we've got a few weeks to see how this goes first.

"With genetic test results back from U.C. Davis Laboratories of toe-hair samples from each side of his body, I am excited to share that this sheep
🌟 IS INDEED a CHIMERA 🌟
His black mouflon side is a genetically different individual from his black gray side. The lab ran the test twice just to be sure!
Oh but wait, THERE IS MORE!
He is ALSO a she!
The black mouflon side is male.
The black gray side is female!
What I can tell you beyond these test results, is that this beautiful creature successfully bred four solid patterned ewes this winter that produced a total of 9 lambs, of which all were either solid pattern or mouflon pattern; 5 rams and 4 ewes. "

"Miss" means an unmarried woman. "Mrs." means a married woman. (both of these have origins in the word "mistress" as in "mistress of the house".)
"Ms." - prounounced MIZ, btw - is a third option popularized by gloria steinem in the 70s - mainly through her feminist magazine Ms. - which is meant to be a neutral term, usable for any and all women regardless of marital status (hence the soul destroying irony of the tags above). it gained wider general acceptance when geraldine ferraro, the first woman to be nominated as VP on a national major party ticket, started using it widely to avoid confusion, since she was married but used her maiden name professionally. eventually over the years it came into common use though i do think the brits are a little more critical of it than americans (as far as i'm aware lol)

Hi. I'm an unmarried woman in her forties. I use Ms. and pronounce it "miz", though I don't correct people who accidentally use a soft S. I use Ms. because it's no one's business but my own whether I'm married, to a man or anyone else, and that's what Ms. means. It means fuck off, my marital status is irrelevant, just as it is for every man who uses Mr.
I've had people (usually children) ask me at work if I'm a missus or a miss. I have replied that I am a miz, full stop. And when they pressed for which one I was REALLY, I have replied, "Why? Are you going to treat me differently depending on whether there's a ring somewhere?"
That's what Ms. is for. That is its linguistic function. It says, "This is an adult woman," and nothing else. Nothing else is necessary, and in my case, nothing else is desired.
I also use miz for other women unless and until they express a preference for something else because I don't magically know everyone else's marital status when I meet them. That's a courtesy—I'm declining to assume marital status and allowing them to decide whether they wish to declare it.
Also, I've taught English and worked as an editor for twenty years. I am quite literally the grammar police. This use of Ms. is a standard construction. If you didn't learn it in school, someone failed you.
“Obscure facts” Boo boo I was taught it in elementary school. One with a state standardized curriculum.
Ms. is marriage-neutral and it’s pronounced Miz. It is deliberately different from Miss.
undiagnosed autistic people will be like "I don't get upset when my routine changes though!!" and it's because they've built a set of if-then loops in their head to pick from one of 6 different strict routines and they do get incredibly upset when they're unable to keep to any of the 6 scripts. This is called a fault tree. You will always know how to act if your fault tree captures all possible scenarios. In NASA Mission Control during mission critical events like landings there are huge binders with fault tree protocols, kind of like choose your own adventure books except you’re not the one making the choices, the universe is making them for you and you’re just trying to keep up.
The engineers who develop fault trees, I am told, often imagine new ways for their precious spacecraft to die (new branches on the fault trees) either while in the shower or lying awake at 3am, because human
Was just thinking about this the other day. Yeah I have a favorite seat on the bus (middle of the bus, near the back doors, slightly elevated, facing forward), but I don’t get upset if someone is already sitting there, I just pick one of my other favorite spots. Then I realized that most people probably don’t have a favorite bus seat, let alone a series of backup favorites.
