🤨 Knees Caving In During Squats?! Checkout these tips from @achievefitnessboston What’s up, Achievers?! @laurenpak22 here and today we’re talking about knees caving in during squats! While there will be times where mobility drills and other remedial exercises might be helpful, we often like to address the lowest hanging fruit first when it comes to knees caving in at the bottom of a squat. Something as simple and as easy addressing stance, taking off shoes and rooting into the floor, and shifting the hips back can magically “fix” collapsing knees without needlessly investing too much time into “corrective” exercises. While it might sound too easy to be true, we encourage you to spend some time being mindful during your next squat day and see if these tips help you out! By the way, rooting/gripping the floor and corkscrewing can feel really foreign if you haven’t been coached in-person before. The basic gist is that you want to firmly “grip” the floor (but don’t claw at the floor by bunching your toes!) and then thinking about “spreading the floor apart” with your feet. This gets your foot active and gets your hips more engaged which can lead to a more stability as you lower yourself down. Happy squatting! Until next time, sweat out; happiness in! 😅🤗 . . #achievefitnessboston #squat #squats #squatday #squatdepth #legday #lowerbodyworkout #valgus #fitcampstrong #womeninspiringwomen (at FITCamp - Beginners Bootcamp for Women) https://www.instagram.com/p/CN5Ek40F6BN/?igshid=1demyyeec5lly
