Hey remember that time in rtte when Throk came to The Edge to take Ruffnut as his bride and his methods of doing so had Astrid going for the kill? And then Hiccup had to hurriedly stop her before Throk could lose his head?

Ok I know how many of the fans tend to comment at this scene with the fact that Hiccup was able to hold back Astrid, the incredibly strong, well trained, most formidable warrior Astrid. Adding that Hiccup is strong enough to do that in rtte and I don't disagree-
But! Counterpoint.
Please rewatch the whole scene with sound on and you'll see. Hiccup was able to hold back Astrid of all people yes. But only for a few seconds. (Notice the panic in his eyes when he's trying to calm her down/hold her back). And then it all went to chaos as can be judged from the bg sounds immediately after he pulls her away to save Throk's neck. You can tell he probably got hit or something with those exclamations of pain. Ergo Hiccup has grown up to be pretty strong but he does not negate Astrid's strength.
Got that out of the way? Cool.
Now. My original secret purpose for sharing this moment. *Rubs hands excitedly with evil grin* There is no cat at Dragon's Edge. In fact, we never see a cat in Httyd universe throughout the franchise, this world having terrible terrors as equivalent (similar to to how fireworms are equivalent to mice).
Besides, they're at the docks and no objects or animals could be seen there from the earlier different angled shots and there's no open space around them, just high cliffs surrounding the dock.
So those cat hisses and startled screech? Only one other being aside from Hiccup and Astrid went in that direction; the giant cat himself.
