Some of these were quite hard because a lot are romance-aligned/romance-adjacent which I don't read a lot. And I don't like sci-fi NOR magic au's, so it's like the lesser evil lol. I very much live in the canon-compliant niche which just fleshes out the canon in more detail or explores what's possible within canon-established rules.

I love these options, I had to second-guess myself multiple times cause I kept thinking of good examples for each one. But honestly, I tend to read a lot of fluff or fix-it fics. I crave happy endings or at least bittersweet ones to escape reality lol.

Robin and Batgirl each have their final test, and Tim is about to take his own.

Batman has a test for each of his children to gain their full independence.

Yes, now they're their own person and vigilantes outside of Robin and Batman's shadow, but B still all on their cases, stalks them (lovingly, this his and Tim love language), still doesn't fully trust them with dangerous missions like they still kids!!

Once, Dick yelled at him about it, B buse for a second, leave the room and Dick for the whole day, when Dick start to worry Bruce come back with a news.

Each former Robin and Batgirl can have a test to prove they can and will be as strong and equal to Batman. But only Batman decides when and how the test will be. The kids have the right to quit whenever they want, but they'll have to quit vigilant as well.

Or they could not take the test, and things will stay as they are.

First it's Nightwing, his test will be a lot simpler than the others, it will be sit to make him face one of his greatest flaws and fears, which I can't think of so it's up to u :) till me what u came up with.

The Batkids is thrilled with news, trying to prove to B that they're ready.

Next is red Hood. He may not visit that much, but the idea of B trusting him even when he still breaks his "no kill" rule every single day is...

The news comes as a card in his room (in the save house that B SUPPOSE to NOT know about it) with just the date and a bat simple.

His test is a to save Damian and Tim who might get hurt and B is the gard between them, he had to fight B to save Tim and Dami, a fight to death, he may say he will kill B gladly but when it's come to point a gun at the man who raised him, failed him, and start again with him.

He can't. He will shoot the criminals all he want but not.. them. Then B starts Ragebait him, saying he is his greatest failure, and he never wanted him to come back.

That's hurt Jason more than he likes to admit. He started fighting more aggressively, more anger and hurt than he ever was.

Then he hear Tim screaming for him (they couldn't hear or see what was happening) and he will be curse if he ignores that, so he swallow his anger his pain and sadness, and focus on what's matters.

He rescues his brothers, turns to B. Ready to fight, but not for a hug. B knows that Jason's emotions are his biggest flaw, so he put him through that to face them and learn to focus on actions, not words.

B cry on Jason the entire night apologizing.

Red Hood passed.

The next one is Oracle, she find the card on the batcomputer, Steph spits out her drink.

(Not sure about the test, u can change it as u like, but please tell me, I KNOW I mischaracterized her)

Oracle, who used to send people after her injure, she's scared after what happened with the Joker, even after she get to walk and move again, her test was to come to three families (like in nowhere) and save them from bombs under their houses. Yea, B does NOT hold back in the tests.

She had to find out where's the families are, find a way to get there from where B dropped her in, and convince or force the families to leave.

It was hell.

But she made it.

It takes her to learn that her injury doesn't make her weaker than what she used to be, she had to learn her words has strength too, that even if she's scared, she have to be in the felled sometimes, for the people she save or her people.

When the airplane lands to pick her up, B is there. At first, she was angry, wanting to yell at him, then she saw how tired and regret he looked, she hesitated.

B hugs her and tells her he's proud of her and promise to come to the girls' night with her and Steph and Cass as an apology (they will definitely paint his nails).

Oracle passed.

Then it's Black bat or Orphan. Find the card in her suit. Her test was simple. She had to fight robots of her siblings trying to bomb the batcave. After everything she went through, her family is the dearest thing to her, but what if they turned to the other side?

B doesn't hold back.

She struggled, even when she knew those weren't her family, but she made it to the final one.

Batman, Bruce, her father. He wasn't a robot. Yet he asked her to shoot him. She couldn't.

But she comes so far, so B (after Alfred insisted) didn't take her suit, but she considered that she didn't pass the test.

black bat's test is suspended.

He takes her to eat ice cream as an apology and to talk about the resins behind her test.

Now it's Tim's turn, Dick looks at him with sad eyes told him "you don't have too", Jason pats his shoulder and tells him "good luck, you'll need it", Barbara smiles at his sympathetically, Cass hugs him when he told her.

Tim doesn't know, but they do, B doesn't hold back in the tests.

I have this weird hc of Danny x Sam relationship.

Yes, they dated at 14, but after a while, they realized they're too young for that, and it kinda distended them from Tucker.

So they kinda break up, and when I say kinda, I mean it. They still act like friends most of the time. They start dating someone else, then break up, then start dating again yada yada.

But sometimes they kiss or act like couple (when they're notin a relationship, we don't support cheating in this house), like Danny win a prize so he kiss Sam and hug Tucker, Sam sitting next to Danny and he puts his arm on her shoulders and brings her closer to him.

Jazz calls it situationship Danny calls it bullsh¡.

Between Danny and Sam a deal, if they cross 21 without finding someone else, they will start dating again.

Tucker both flattered and insulted.

Now, years later, when Bruce finds his 16 y/o son who he lost, he has to deal with this sh¡

Danny: *kiss Sam* See you later! My dad will pick me up today.

Sam: See u, D.

Bruce: *in the car, confused* I didn't know you have a girlfriend.

Danny: What? No, Sam is just a good friend.

Bruce: ... riiight

Jason: This is the most mess up relationship I have ever seen, and I lived with Bruce.

Tim: *sees Sam in Danny's hoodie* ...I'm not dealing with this.

Dick: *trying his supportive big brother speech* at least till her, being lovers doesn't mean you stopped being friends!

Danny: That's sweet and all, but Sam and I dated for a while, we broke up but still friends.

Dick:... do you want to start dating again?

Danny: Not until 21

"When Damian went off with his father, he left Danny behind. Danny returned to make it everyone's problem."

Damian is strength, and Danny is brains. Damian is king, and Danny is executioner. Damian is Mother's favorite, and Danny is grandfather's favorite. Two complementary halves.

While Damian longs for the affection and attention of their mother, grandfather, and father, Danny longs for his brother's. Grandfather may favor Danny, but he doesn't understand him. Mother may love Danny, but she keeps her distance.

Despite Grandfather's favoritism, he refuses to kill. He will torture, kidnap, plunder, and destroy someone's life, but he will not kill. Grandfather's favoritism may be the reason he has survived so far.

But Ra's will not wait for his grandson forever.

Grandfather sends Danny on a special solo mission: to enter an underground arena and be locked in with 29 of the world's greatest warriors and assassins, with one goal on everyone's mind: survive.

At that time, Slade rebelled, and Damian went with B. Damian refused to return and became Robin.

Danny returned.

When Danny was in the ring (the arena), only one thing was on his mind: Damian. He wanted his brother. When he killed with Truss from the ringside, when he slept atop the ring posts with a sharp rock pressed into his hand, when he felt the dried blood under his fingernails and in his hair, the thought of returning and finally embracing his brother was what kept him going.

He returned, and Damian was gone.

He entered his brother's room despite his mother and grandfather calling after him. He waited. Hours passed; he might be training.

He waited. Days passed; he might be on a difficult mission. He stared absently at the clock, feeling net-like hands where those in the ring had tried to touch him.

He waited. Weeks passed. He heard that he was with their father training. His grandfather had sent him on a mission to kill the heir, but that was ridiculous. He wouldn't kill his twin. He pretended to agree. He would go to Damian. Who knew? He might accept living with their father and his sons, especially since Jason would be there.

He waited. Months passed. He stood in front of their father's window.

... He was laughing. Dami, his brother who was always frowning despite Danny's attempts to make him laugh, was laughing among their father's other children, in the living room, among his brothers. They seemed happy, calm, complete.

But that was impossible. He and Dami were twins. They were born together, lived together, and would always be together.

He waited. It was okay. He had waited a long time in that arena, to find the right point of attack, to try to find food before he realized the arena was empty except for... never mind.

He would wait. He would find a moment to show that his brother still thought of him, a chance to show he cared. Days passed, weeks passed, a month passed, and his brother didn't remember him at all.

He had forgotten him.

So Danny, who was kind of losing it in the arena, angry and hurt by his brother's forgetfulness, would start a series of organized crimes: murdering one of the employees at the animal shelter Dami frequented, stealing random items from the Bats' rooms, and carrying out a bombing on their holiday.

While the Bats investigate this new criminal, whom they've dubbed Caly moth (from Calybtra moth) in some areas, Jason finds their method of killing both familiar and strange. Damian notices "gifts" left by the criminal: bloody writings on the wall, the date of the crime, the victim's position, and reminders of secrets between him and his deceased twin.

(The reason is up to you, but B is wearing a bat costume, bats are associated with vampires, and Danny is somehow connected to blood-sucking butterflies.

This triggers something I didn't know existed, or perhaps Danny is using genetically modified Calybtra moths that feed only on blood instead of fruits. -\(•–•)/-)

Wait, I forgot something! Danny actually died in the arena, but a massive amount of electricity (and ectoplasm) from a device worn by someone in the ring who calls themselves Ghost Scientists revived him (then killed him, then revived him, then killed him, then revived him, then...). When he returned to LoA severely injured and barely alive, Ra's put him in the pit to recover.

When traces of him being halfa appeared, Ra's used that and tried to develop it in Danny, so yes, Danny is trained to use his abilities here.

Danny is doing something behind the scenes, testing the bats to see if they will accept him or not. Everyone fails (for reason or another) except Jason, but his sadness and anger lead him to carry out his plan to kill or destroy the bats without the final test.

So, a dialogue ensues like:

Damian:"How do you know they won't accept you? I may be a bad brother, but why are you judging our father and brothers without knowing them!"

Danny:"You think I didn't? *Starts listing where everyone failed* I know they won't accept me."

Jason:"...What about me?"

Danny:"What?"

Jason:"B, Brat, and the others failed, but what about me? Where did I fail?"

Danny:"That doesn't matter. They failed, and you will too. It's not like it's strange to you." (Forgive him, Danny wants to hurt them any way he can.)

However, the bats won't know who Caly moth is at first, but Jason and Damian will search separately and find the truth first.

Damian, overwhelmed with regret, will try to bring his twin brother back with him, whom he thought was dead. He will try to explain his position: "I tried, I swear I tried to find you, and when I didn't, I thought the worst."... You should've tried harder." (angst my beloved)

"Why doesn't Batman kill the Joker?"

Or, I wanted to study math, but I cry myself instead.

Bruce had a new friend. He met him in Gotham City Park. He didn't know his name, and he never told him. His friend liked to joke and always smiled, which was strange to Gotham. Bruce called him "Joker" once after a particularly bad joke, and that became his sort of name; he only responded to it.

Bruce and Joker grew closer and closer. Bruce took him to the mansion, and he met his parents. Martha and Thomas liked him, although Joker was nervous around them. He whispered to Bruce as they left, "Grown-ups are bad and can't be trusted." Bruce told him that his parents weren't bad, but he didn't seem convinced.

He once asked him about a "shameful shelter." Bruce didn't understand. "You know, that dark room the grown-ups put you in for a few nights when they don't want to deal with you or they want to drink." Bruce told him he didn't have one. Joker's smile vanished for a second before he cracked a joke that Bruce had never tasted rats.

Bruce hadn't told his parents.

Joker was strange. He broke a cat's neck for no reason other than he thought it would be funny. He laughed even when he was sad, then got embarrassed and refused to explain. He enjoyed watching movies with terrifying gore. Sometimes, he would come to Bruce with a tag on his shirt, bite it, and try to tear it off.

"Sorry for my behavior. I have complex neuropsychiatric presentation,"

He always threw it away before anyone arrived, and despite Joker's strangeness, Bruce loved him so much that he saw him as a younger brother (he didn't know his exact age, only that he was around his age but a little younger). Although he didn't tell anyone, he suspected that Alfred knew.

Then The Wayne Murders happened. Bruce didn't visit his friend for months. One day, Alfred was surprised to see Joker enter through the window on a rainy night. He tried to persuade him to change his clothes or treat the bruise (which looked suspiciously like a hand) on his arm, but Joker, with his ever-present smile, continued on his way, opening every room until he found Bruce. He threw himself on him and hugged him.

He didn't leave after that. Days passed, and Joker was always around Bruce, trying to cheer him up. No matter how much Bruce yelled at him or hit him, he didn't leave. But one day, he disappeared. Alfred worried until he returned at night.

He was crying and laughing hysterically, repeating, "she did it! She really did it!" Alfred tried to calm him down.

He calmed him down enough that he spoke almost coherently.

"Ma, s- she reallydid it- t she'-he p'omise not to l- leave, bu- bu' she did!!"

Alfred held him close, even as he laughed, cried, and struck him.

Several hours later, Joker dragged Alfred, his expression blank, through the streets of Gothom. Eventually, they came to a tree from which hung a woman—or what was a woman.

The woman was hanging with a large hole in her abdomen, her entrails, or what remained of them, spilling out of the hollow.

Her lower jaw had been ripped off, and she was stripped of her clothes. One of her feet was missing, and her scalp and hair had been removed. Her eyes were gone, and seven fingers were missing from her hands, which had been cut open near the shoulders, the bone removed, and her right elbow dislocated, protruding from beneath the skin.

The organ traffickers had arrived before them.

Joker squeezed his hand, and Alfred remembered him. He tried to cover his face, but Joker saw it, and it was etched in his eyes.

The Joker's laughter had never sounded so hideous.

He returned to the mansion with Alfred, shaken and detached from reality. He didn't let go of Alfred's hand, clinging to it even when they reached his room. Alfred sat with him until he fell asleep, then left to check on Bruce and tell him what had happened.

He told him that Joker's mother had taken her own life. He watched the shock on Bruce's face from under his blanket before he nodded weakly. In the middle of the night, Bruce entered Joker's room

Alfred find them asleep together, embracing each other.

Time passed, and they celebrated Bruce's tenth birthday (they didn't celebrate his ninth for obvious reasons). The brothers met Kate Kane, one of Bruce's relatives, and the pair ended up becoming a trio.

Kate became like the missing piece, the older sister. (She would deny until her dying day that her eyes filled with tears when they told her how they saw her.)

Then Bruce decided to become Batman.

He began his journey around the world to learn what would benefit him, but this time with his younger brother, his little Jester, by his side every step of the way. He didn't always seem interested in learning; he preferred exploring. Because of the many problems they encountered on their journey, he learned how to disguise himself with clothes and makeup "like a clown," as Bruce said before he got hit.

They communicated with Kate and Alfred by phone. Once, the Joker wanted to dye his hair, but it ended up being a bright green. Bruce mocked him at length, but Joker (after overcoming his embarrassment and annoyance) wanted to keep it, so the green hair became his trademark.

But Bruce's anger after his parents' death had subsided, but it hadn't disappeared. Like embers waiting for the smallest spark to ignite, Joker was often caught in the crossfire. Bruce would yell at him, sometimes shove him, or even hit him, but his little Jester was the only one who made him laughed—not with a chuckle or a faint smile, but with a laugh that echoed everywhere.

Once, during their investigation into a killer who was poisoning his victims with acid gas, his rage flared. Bruce became angry about something, so the Joker went off alone to find a clue to avoid trouble. Bruce found out and followed him, but it was too late.

Joker survived, but the gas and its effects worsened his already unstable state. He became more violent and deranged, and B feared what this might mean. They returned to the mansion to monitor the Joker's condition. Alfred was worried, and Bruce knew it was because he saw Joker as a son. Joker told him that Alfred saw him as a son too, he didn't respond.

Tensions between Joker and B increased, and one day, Bruce returned, but the Joker wasn't there. He looked broken. He stared blankly at Alfred before breaking down in tears. Kate didn't react well; she had lost her younger brother because of her other brother. She stopped contacting him.

But Batman couldn't stop (even if his own little brother, Jester, was the danger), so he continued, watching his brother's limbs crumble.

The Joker's mental state had affected his memory, so he wouldn't recognize B as his brother, but he knew he loved him and wanted him to smile. He tried to make him smile, blowing up buildings, making games, and really trying. But Batman didn't smile; he looked even more broken, wondering why.

Alfred was devastated too. He had lost a son to another, and the Bats were still mourning one of their own until that child, Dick Grayson, arrived. Bruce took him under his wing and managed to make him laugh again—not with the same laughter and joy he'd shared with the Joker, but something similar.

Robin left, and another arrived: Jason. He was his son, his pride, whom Bruce loved with all his heart—his own child, killed by his brother.

...

Another Robin arrived: Tim. Bruce tried to push him away, but Tim carved his way into his heart. Despite Dick's shouts, demanding to know why he hadn't avenged his child, B couldn't answer. What could he say? "I messed up with my brother, who beat my son to death, and now I don't know what to do?" Even Tim seemed suspicious of Bruce's backing down with the Joker.

Jason returned, furious. He asked, "Why didn't the Joker die?" Bruce didn't answer.

As time passed, his children grew in number, and so did their questions: Why was the Joker alive? Why was B so afraid of killing him? He even went so far as to save his life on several occasions. Alfred heard them, but he couldn't reply.

Eventually, Kate returned and re-established contact with her brother. She heard his children, and all she said was, "There are many things that have happened that you don't know about, little Robins."

UPDATE: THIS AGED BADLY

"When Damian and Danny escape at the age of eight, becoming vigilantes themselves."

Inspired by: by goldfishinabag 1-800-GOTHAM.

Danny escapes at the age of eight and arrives at Fenton's door. Damien escapes six months after his brother and keeps a close watch on the Fenton family to check on his brother.

Daniel notices him. At first, he skeptical about why Damian was there, but Damian explain that he believes the League was right and that Daniel was overreacting to the death of **** (I don't have anyone in mind, maybe Tucker and/or Sam). However, he cares about his brother and will try to convince him to return.

(Over time, Damian saw the League's wrongdoing but preferred death to admitting it.)

Seven months after escaping, Danny learned that the Fenton family can't take care of two children, especially when one of them being hunt by an assassin ninjas he had spotted. Despite his love for Jazz, he fakes his death in a Nasty Burger explosion and escapes with his brother. They arrive in Gothom. At first, they want to remain hidden, but Damien's longing for his father and his desire to see him led him to jump over buildings in search of him. Daniel found out, they argued, and stopped speaking for a while.

But these two goblins can't stay apart forever, so they reconcile and come up with a compromise. Danny, who has an interest in machines because of his love of space and his time at Fenton's lab, will set up an emergency hotline, and Damian, who has always loved fieldwork, will be responsible for getting civilians out of danger if they get trapped.

People begin calling him Gotham's guardian angel (Danny's name, made by the citizens) and his exorcist (Damian's name, made by himself after the people tried to call him a 'shameful' one).

Anyway, Danny dies from an electric shock from a rogue weapon after going out to save Damian. Damian can't forgive himself (or forget his brother's lifeless, pulseless body, bleeding in his hands and trembling from the electricity) and becomes a ghost.

They meet Jonny and Kitty, Gotham citizens who are dead in 80's, and they introduce Danny (and Damian) to the Infinite Worlds and the plop ghosts.

Plop ghosts are a type of spirit, emotional attachments to places or moments, and they are omnipresent. They aren't very intelligent, but they can perform simple tasks in exchange for food. They are always watching and have a kind of cell-like brain, which some ghosts might be able to access.

The idea takes shape in the twins' minds.

The plop ghosts become their trusted suppliers, keeping one or more at their base. Through Danny's touch, he can see places no one else can reach, or know about events as they happen (like a rogue escape from Arkham or a hidden scam).

With help (more of a bargain) from an ancient ghost related to technology, the twins learn that combining ectoplasm with any technology makes them impossible to hack.

They do this on all their stuff.

The presence of the guardian angel and the exorcist certainly doesn't go unnoticed by the bats. They notice their presence and the people's trust and affection for them: the angel with his jokes, understanding, and sense of justice, and the exorcist, who, despite his sharp temper, is seen as kind, especially due to his compassion for animals and his stubborn, persistent nature, particularly considering his young age.

People start calling them Gotham guardian angel (Danny' name, made by the citizens) and his exorcist (Damian's name, made by himself after the people tried to name him a 'shameful' one)

This is what worries the bats: Who is the Angel?! How does he know all this?! And why is his security system so ridiculously impenetrable?! And why on earth is a random kid wandering around in such dangerous places?!

They have some suspicions about Angel. But they also don't want to assume anything; someone has done this before, and they can't blame him. Bruce tries to stop them, but the kids want violence.

So they offer Angel a deal: a Cooperation between their teams both of them will help each other, and they ask to see the Exorcist, which Danny agrees to (because Damien is eager to meet their father, no matter how much he tries to hide it behind a mask of indifference).

The bats are even more worried because this kid knows about weapons, military plans, and fighting techniques. They might excuse it (looking at you, B), but they can't ignore the hints. What hints you ask? The hints are of domestic violence or neglect.

Hiding half the food when he thinks no one is looking (he wants to give Danny some; God knows how bad they are at cooking)

hints that he would protect Angel with his life because he owes it to him (he doesn't want to lose his brother, his twin, his other half again)

And that angel is who suggested that he works on the field (Danny knows that Damian is the most active of them and he (Danny) prefers to stay hidden from the bats), and that no one cooks for him (they are both bad at it)

And that he will be punished if he is late (Danny won't speak to him for half an hour before they go back to clinging to each other)

he is used to injuries and that he wasn't allowed to show emotion in his childhood and that he does not legally exist (the league).

All of this paints an unsettling picture in the minds of the bats.

And they want to do something about it.

Bruce prepares the adoption papers, Dick brainstorms ten ways to break Angel's neck, Jason and Cass prepare their weapons, Barbara and Tim create a 456-page PowerPoint presentation about why Angel is a bad person to show the exorcist, Duke gathers all the things the exorcist might need after the big escape, and Stephanie tries to escape to hit Angel first.

All this while Danny eats half of Damien's burger as Damien tells him about his day with subtle hints urging him to meet their family because they're undoubtedly will like him.

And no one notices the increasing number of men in white robes in the city. Is it a new fashion?

And no one hears the drums of war in the infinite realms, demanding blood for their fallen, the battle cries so loud that no one notices a specific ghost trying to awaken the sleeping king.

Ollie is a really good actor in my MASCOT!AU, which means he's a great "mockingbird", well, you know. we know.

Selina runs as fast as she can through the streets of Gotham, hearing his voice, the voice of the man she loved, calling to her, even begging her to come back.

But she can't, not now that she knows who they are.

About three years ago, she snuck into a party with the most dangerous crime boss, "Batman," in an attempt to steal a jewel he owned. Normally, she wouldn't get involved with someone like him, but as they say, curiosity killed the cat.

And in this case, love.

She only knew him as Bruce, one of Gotham's wealthy residents, with whom she (for the first time) enjoyed talking. Then she liked his company, and then she liked him.

He was kind despite his reticence, intelligent, fair, and someone she couldn't take her eyes off. She truly loved Bruce, more than anyone she had ever met.

And his children were all very kind: Dick and his jokes, Jason (whom she rarely saw because of his "solo work away from the family") and his kindness beneath all that harshness, Cassandra and her quiet concern, Tim and his restless concern, Stephanie and her jokes, Duke and his obvious kindness, unlike his family (optional, you can ignore if you don't like it), and his honorary daughter Barbara and her thoughtful observations.

At first, she didn't understand why she saw Bruce as a father when she already had a present and caring one, but as she says, "Why settle for one when I can have two? Besides, my dad doesn't mind."

She loved Bruce so much that she kissed him and nearly jumped into his arms when he pulled out a diamond ring and asked her.

She loved him so much that she ignored the whispers around them as they walked the streets of Gotham.

She loved him so much to notice the ominous stains on some of his clothes.

She loved him so much to know who the man she was about to marry was.

But she couldn't deny it anymore, not after she saw the caverns beneath the house (or as she knew it, Batman's Batcave) and the blood and corpses in the gaps between the bridges.

Not after she saw one of the kids, whom she considered her own children and called kittens, and saw them blush and fluster at the slightest attention, shoot a man begging for his life without a moment's hesitation or a shred of remorse. (As if he were used to it.)

Not after she saw the man she loved condemned a family to death because one of its members had upset his children.

Not after she saw them laughing and teasing Bruce, saying, "He's finally getting married," and "He already had kids before marriage, so what's next?" And Bruce laughing shyly, as if nothing had changed.

But something had changed, something big for Selina.

That night, on her wedding night, Selina ran away when she discovered that her man was a gang leader.

Hello again, here we are again with another worm that refused to come out.

When Selina disappeared, Bruce spent the entire night shouting in the streets, calling out to her and even begging her to come back.

In the morning, he returned home devastated. His children, on the other hand, were angry.

At first, they didn't like Selina, but when they saw their father's happiness, they reluctantly accepted her presence because it was the first time they had ever seen Bruce so happy.

When he killed Tony Zucco and Dick hugged him for the first time, he was happy.

When he adopted Jason (whom he drugged after trying to escape in the middle of his conversation with B following the robbery attempt and couldn't get out afterward, at least until he joined the family), he was happy.

When Jason came back from the dead and B told him that the Joker wouldn't bother him again, he was happy. (He didn't die; he would live, but he would wish for death.)

But not like this overwhelming happiness, which seemed pure in its simplicity. Her laughter delighted him, seeing her delighted him, and even the smallest gesture from her made him feel like he was on cloud nine. (Outwardly, he was calm and composed, but they knew Bruce better than to be fooled by that.)

When they got to know her, they loved her, even though they would rather die than admit it.

She wasn't a replacement for their real mothers. Dick would never forget his mother and her laughter, Jason would never forget his mother's cooking and care (before her addiction), and so on for the rest.

But Selina was different. She was like another mother in a different way—bold, fun, and oblivious to their true nature. The children agreed that she had to remain oblivious, at least until after the wedding, so she wouldn't be able to run away.

Her departure angered and saddened them. Why? Didn't she love them enough? What had she seen? How much did she know?

The children decided to join Bruce in his search for Selina, and even Jason, who had broken away from the family to start his own gang in Crime Alley, shared their goal.

But time passed and they didn't find her, and Bruce became even more withdrawn afterward, at least until three years later when Talia (Bruce's ex-girlfriend, whom Dick wanted to stab, as Dick added) arrived with news that revived the family.

Meanwhile, Selina had escaped to the Midwest, specifically to Amity Park, Illinois. She lived on the outskirts of town, near the woods, buying a small cabin and filling it with cats. Under a false identity (Selena Nightangel), she hoped Bruce no one would find her.

That was until a year after her escape, when she found a small child with blue eyes (resembling him) and black hair in her doorstep , so she took him in.

She planned to care for him for a few days and then leave him for an orphanage or foster care, until she learned he had no identity. Seeing his physical wounds (and noticing the psychological ones), she decided to care for him herself. (And perhaps she was lonely, having gone from almost daily visits from Bruce's children or Bruce himself to complete solitude.)

Later she began to learn that this child's name was Danyel or Daniel, as she named him on his new identity (forged like hers) at his request, as he says, "He doesn't want to stands out ."

Danny was... a lot. From day one, he tried to kill Selina and strangled one of her cats. It was clear he hadn't lived in a community or a suitable environment for a child. He knew about weapons but didn't know what a television was.

But he loved the stars, so she hung them in his room, gave him books about them, and listened to him ramble on for hours.

This boy went from being a withdrawn (and seemingly) murderous child to a sweet, chatty kid about stars and space in an instant.

He knew how to manipulate her (as she noticed). At first, he used it to get information from her, but after six months, he was using it to persuade her to buy him candy.

She still remembered his first day of school. She would have homeschooled him if she hadn't noticed his lack of social skills. When she started taking him to the park, she overheard women talking about not seeing him at school. If she didn't want child services and the police arresting her for "abuse," she needed to send him to school.

At first, he refused, unwilling to live in a community that was still new to him. But when he asked her about the consequences of refusing, and she told him they might take him away from her, he immediately agreed.

Danny's first day was a disaster by any measure. Apparently, some mean kid named Dash saw her son as a toy to play with. So she went to the principal's office and argued with him until Dash was punished.

It was only a three-day suspension, but unfortunately, she couldn't do more than that.

At least Sam and Tucker seemed like good kids.

... Yes, she might have become attached to this child she had taken in by mistake.

But he was her child now, and she would die before she let anything hurt him.

Back at Wayne's Manor, Damian was trying to adjust to having brothers (again). They weren't like Danyel, but... something. Dick tried to stick to him at every opportunity. Jason was barely there, but he offered him a cigarette when he saw him (Dick hit him and told Damian he was just nervous), so he thought he was okay. and barely saw the rest.

Father was distant at first; Dick said he'd been like that ever since, without explaining what he meant.

But one day (after he'd tried to kill Drake), Damian was, well, crying. After months of living with the Wayne away from the grave he'd built for Danyel, he'd missed him terribly. Father came in, holding a box with two matching rings and looking lost in thought until he heard Damian's quiet sniff.

When he went into the library, trying to forget the pain in his chest (he wouldn't forget, and it wouldn't go away until he found her again), he hadn't expected to find the newest addition to his family weeping silently.

Damian always looked strong and confident, even murderly, but that's not unusual for their family.

And seeing him like that made him look, look like a child... and he was, he was a child, his own child. So he entered quietly and pulled Damian towards him despite his attempts to hide his tears.

"...I miss him."

Him? Who is he?

"Uh...it hurts."

...

And now he was really hugging Damian.

"I know, I know."

After that, Damian's relationship with his father improved; his father would call him for walks or to a room he hadn't seen in the Manor, and give him everything he wanted, like Titius, his proud dog.

Damian became a real member of the family, and his father (though he occasionally reverted to his own isolation) tried to be there for his other children.

Damian was whole. (Almost, he wouldn't be whole without his twin.)

He didn't tell his father and brothers about Danyel, not because they wouldn't understand, but because he felt he was doing a disservice—a disservice to Danyel, who would be portrayed as a perfect dead child when he was so much more than that; a disservice to his father, who would be mourning a child he'd never met (and might become even more isolated because of it); and, with childish selfishness, a disservice to Damian himself. Danyel was his twin, his other half, his sorrow, his anger, and he... didn't want to share it, not yet.

But aside from his mental struggle over Danyel, Damian was living the best time of his life. (Selina's scream drowned out the rain when she saw her baby.)

He had the family he and Danyel had always longed for. (The smell of burning flesh and iron was overpowering. "M-Mom?" a faint voice called from inside the gate.)

He had friends; Jon was his first and only friend, though he'd rather die than say it out loud. (Jazz stood in horror; the boy she'd seen as a younger brothe died was dying in her parents' machine.)

At ten, Damian lived. (And Danny died)

Demon Twins AU

AKA "Danyal al-Ghul is seven minutes younger than Damian. Those seven minutes mean something."

Danny loved his older brother. Even when Talia favored Damian over him, even when Ra's spared no expense for his brother's care, even when Danny was left unprotected against their mentors' brutality without the title of heir. He swallowed the bitterness of jealousy and instead accepted any affection Damian could secretly give him away from Ra's prying eyes.

He knows Damian loved him, too. As much as Ra's and their mother allowed, as much as being in the league allowed. It was the hitch in Damian's breath when Danny was hit a little harder than usual, bread under his pillow when Danny was sent away without food, the twitch of his lips when Danny said an amusing joke. They could never hug, never speak openly, but Damian always had a small, secret space in his heart for his brother. (Danny and Damian learned early on to never show affection. Danny was once gifted a hawk for his birthday, only for Ra's to slaughter it once Danny had grown to love it. He had nightmares for months that Damian was forced to slaughter him. He woke up every morning feeling sick because he couldn't remember if he'd forgiven Damian in his dreams.)

The only thing that tested Danny's love for Damian was when he left. His mother didn't tell him that Damian was gone. He'd carefully crept into Damian bedroom one night, asking if he'd go stargazing with Danny, when he realized Damian was gone. All his clothes, weapons, gone. There was a single bare mattress. It wasn't until weeks after that Danny's mother told him Damian was sent on a mission as the heir to train with the notorious Dark Knight of Gotham, their father.

There was that bitterness but this time, Danny couldn't swallow it. The emotion sat in his throat like acid, burning in his eyes and throat until he could escape to his bedroom that night. Muffled a scream into his pillow and felt sick, agonizing fury. Jealousy, grief, resentment. It didn't subside for weeks, months, until aching loss of Damian's presence replaced it.

And then Danny's first and only mission.

Kill the heir. Murder his own brother. Danny's grandfather had always looked at him with contempt, hatred. But there was something truly terrifying in his voice when he'd gripped the back of Danny's neck, growled do not disappoint me, and released him into his mother's waiting arms. "He was softened by your father. Dulled and weakened. Don't forget, Danyal," Talia said to him. "The more you care for something, the more sway it has over you. The more it ruins you."

Danny hadn't believed her.

Even as he boarded the private plane, Danny wondered if he could join in Damian's life: fantasies of living in an apartment, stargazing, learning who his father is. Finally learning if Damian had started drawing like his hands always yearned to. Wondering he could see the stars in Gotham as well as in the desert. Danny was almost too eager to see his older brother again, practically giddy at the thought of a reunion away from Ra's and their mother.

Except Damian's hair is... longer. Two older boys are on either side of him and one reaches over to ruffle his hair. And Damian turns with a wide, unguarded smile that Danny's never seen. Watches as one of the other boys hands Damian a takeaway cup of coffee and Damian drinks it without any hesitation. Watches as they banter back and forth, Damian's shoulders no longer rigid with immaculate posture or tense with hypervigilance. Danny watches as Damian acts as if he... as if Danny never existed, as if he'd completely forgotten about him.

The all-consuming ache of Damian's absence is crippling. Worse still is the anger, the rage of being left behind and forgotten while he suffered. Danny was forgotten despite how many times he forgave, loved, hurt. This stranger stands in Damian's place.

(And maybe Danny's mother was right. Danny's never loved anything more than Damian, yet mere moments of watching his brother interact with his new family makes him feel... ruined. A forgotten memory to be tucked under Damian's bed like blunted pencils hidden from their grandfather.)

It... doesn't matter. Danyal al-Ghul has a mission to complete.

Young Justice came across a girl, she was wandering the woods alone in a lab outfit. Long white hair and eerily bright green eyes made her look ethereal.

Tim tried getting a proper age for her but it seems like even if they did it wasn't right. Even though she looked 14 but she seemed older. When they tried asking her to speak or say anything she only said one thing that was vague.

"Elio."

At first it seemed like she was just babbling nonsense but that was the only thing she ever said. YJ spent the night the entire night trying to find where she came from or who she was running from. Tim made it a side note to check into whatever Elio was to her.

Cassie was in charge to watch over her as she fell asleep and when the sun came around they realized that the bed was empty. The girl was gone, and no one had seen where she had gone. Tim went to check the cameras and it was just like she disappeared at the moment the sun hit the bed.

The further they went they decided to check around the surrounding areas where she had originally come from. This time they come across a boy with black hair who was also in a lab outfit. He was speaking more consistently.

"Have you seen my sister? Lene can't be outside by herself."

Tim described the girl to him and he started glowing brightly as if he was the sun. It was warm but the brighter he glowed it was almost like he started cooling down somehow.

Young Justice spent the day trying to find the girl while keeping an eye on the boy. Apparently his sister had two names but he liked calling her dani or lene. Whenever he was asked where they came from he stared off and looked like he was dissociated.

Once they realized they weren't going to get much out of him they let him nap on the couch. The night fell and he was gone, Tim could have sworn that it was fine and he even double checked the cameras and the kid was just gone. Well the rest of the Young Justice were panicking a door in the back opened, Dani walked in with a blanket wrapped around herself.

"Elios- Danny?"

Young Justice had come across the weirdest set of twins, Tim realized what exactly the second names were. Helios and Selene. The sister that appeared at night and the brother that appeared during the day.

Timmy Turner, formerly known as Timmy Kuzma, finds himself in an unenviable situation.

Having survived the collapse of an amusement park at the age of ten by making a complex series of wishes to his fairies to become one himself.

And having escaped the trial of Gordon, who sought to restore him to his human form despite his not being fully "alive," and the intervention of King Phantom, the new ruler of the Infinite Realms (and thus the highest authority), who declared Timmy an fairy by his command and that no one had the right to insult "the point where reality meets fantasy,"

He never expected to die at the hands of those he had defeated as a mere ten-year-old human.

To be fair, the Anti-Fairies were formidable enemies, especially Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda's firstborn adopted son, ymmit.

After a brutal attack on the fairy world and the invasion of their land, aimed at eradicating imagination, Anti-Cosmo, the king of the Anti-Fairies, wanted to teach the troublesome child who had long annoyed him a harsh lesson.

Timmy could no longer feel his right wing.

But that didn't matter! Timmy had managed to escape the fairy world's siege, drifting into the human realm and falling from the stars into a city of blood and fear, a place devoid of imagination or dreams, a terrifying place where children had lost their sparkle and soul.

He landed in Gotham, specifically Park Ro, also known as "Crime Alley."

This wouldn't be a problem for any other fairy, but it was a fatal one for Timmy.

As you can see, Timmy isn't like other fairies. Unlike fairies who can generate magic from within, Timmy needs to "absorb" the imagination, hope, and generally positive emotions of those around him to transform them into magic.

The best ones are clearly children, with their boundless imaginations and endless hope.

Also, everyone can see Timmy; young or old, with or without fairies, everyone.

Now that he's fallen into a place like Gothom, known among fairies for its lack of dreams, Timmy must plant hope in the hearts of its most hardened inhabitants, the children of Crime Alley

I should have ended my previous au idea; don't ask me how I got here.

But imagine this: Timmy, after spending so much time in the fairy world, only interacted with ordinary children whose dreams were mostly cupcakes, parental attention, or a day at the amusement park by themselves.

He didn't know life from the alley's kids' perspective. He got involved with them to gather his strength before going to liberate the only place that called him home.

I can picture Timmy still looking about ten years old, wearing pink clothes and his famous hat (I haven't drawn it, but it probably covers the crown).

His hair has turned blue over time, but he dyes the ends pink. I imagine his design incorporates his family's three colors: pink, purple, and green (the green in the wing; I haven't decided on the style yet).

His first day was a disaster. He treated the Crime Alley kids like children, trying to convince them he was "their own personal fairy who would grant their wishes," and offering them candy.

Of course, he got beaten down, and his crown, wand, and candy were stolen.

But a gang had kidnapped two of the kids, so after Timmy realized he couldn't treat them the same way he had before and that he had to treat them as equals, he offered to help them in exchange for a secret about his existence. No one should know about him.

The kids agreed.

After he helped them rescue the two kids, they gave him the address of an abandoned warehouse to live in. Of course, Timmy didn't trust them, so he slept in the basement of the adjacent building. The children didn't trust him either, but they didn't betray his secret.

Timmy, however, had a plan: he would gather enough imagination and hope to travel to a place where it would be easier to gather his power.

He began following the children around, trying to solve their problems.

But he corrected his mistakes as he grew closer to them.

But they begin to see the cracks in the fairy's perfection: his wing, the way he gazes longingly at the sky, his soft whispers about missing Peri.

Timmy decides to stay.

But then big trouble happens: another escape from Arkham occurs, and one of the rogues flees into Crime Alley and encounters Timmy's group.

Long story short, Timmy fights and defeats the villain, but he loses a great deal of magic, and his brushes crack from lacking magic spreads across his hands.

Crime Alley's kids are scared.

"E. Elf?"

"W-what's wrong, goblin?"

"Your hands! What the hell? Are you dying?! I won't forgive you if you die right now in my hands!!"

"Don't worry, I'm not dying, I'm just... tired."

One of the quiet kids looks at his hands with a frown.

"Does it hurt?"

Timmy doesn't answer, and now someone comes along to make things worse.

Red Hood.

He, for his defense, saw an unknown meta around kids from his territory.

So, to protect them, he put his gun under the meta's chin. He won't fire because the meta is a child and doesn't harm children, but he needs to confirm his identity.

But suddenly, a stone was thrown at his helmet.

Unusually, the alley kids didn't greet him with the amazement and boastfulness of a protector hidden behind a harsh tone and smug faces, but rather with looks of fear and tension.

"Get away from him!" shouted the girl who threw the stone, and the others gathered around her, some trying to reach the meta.

Red Hood looked at a child he knew, who met his gaze defiantly.

"Red Hood, keep your hands off our fairy!"
