Hey! My name is Ford/Alex, and I'm a writer! Okay, this isn't new news. But what is new news is I'm thinking of doing writing commissions.

I'm still working out the details, but I'll write stuff that is allowed to be published online (your original characters) and quite possibly fanfiction if I can find something that says what I need to do for that. If I wrote fanfiction for payment, it cannot be published anywhere unless the law says otherwise (I need to look more into copyright laws for this reason).

The pricing would be around $12 per 1k words. I'm still trying to find a good price range for my work, so it may fluctuate as I write more before starting commissions. I write fiction, not nonfiction. If you need someone to write nonfiction, please do not look at me. I am very bad at nonfiction articles. I write them like fiction.

If you're scared to write the characters that you draw because you don't want to mischaracterize them? Hello! I love learning about people's characters, and writing them is even more fun!

Again, this is just me throwing the idea out there for me to do writing commissions. I need to write more and think about more stuff before I start commissions.

I saw this when running newpipe. But wait, it gets deeper. I clicked on the details buttons and it said as of today, we have 83 days left until Google rolls out this new requirement for apps inside and outside of the google play store. If any developer disagrees with their new terms and fees, they will be blocked!

I'll share some of the info below:

Looks like they're trying to nuke the remaining privacy and freedoms we have left on the internet.

What to do?

-Get your developer friends to not comply to their new guides

- Sign the open letter on the site and take action by checking out the full resources list on their website as well!

To summarize, this is all daunting especially when you feel all alone with unfair and inhumane regulations comming out faster than improvements but we got this working together!

I think the most charitable interpretation of this is that people connect to characters that are like them, and that the experiences of Blackness is so alien to them that the White characters are the only ones that White people connect with. Combine that with the fact that Tumblr is so White as a platform, and you get this issue.

It’s still bad and racist, but it is understandable. People should still do better though. (I’m not trying to justify, I’m trying to come up with an explanation)

This is why we keep talking about racism. This is why we take racist behavior from creators and public figures seriously, past and present, because it does not exist in a vacuum. It feeds into a culture that normalizes violence, ignorance, disrespect, and dehumanization toward Black people not only from white people, but from anyone taught to see us as less than.

This was a historic Black cemetery in Florida and people vandalized and destroyed the graves. That level of hatred does not come from nowhere.

So if conversations about racism, accountability, and protecting spaces from people who have shown they are racist or harmful make you uncomfortable, this probably is not the page for you, and that is fine.

Because every single day there is another story. A racist influencer hurting somebody. A Black child being called slurs. A Black family targeted. A graveyard destroyed. Every day Black people are reminded that simply existing can make us a target.

We will still laugh, joke, create, and enjoy ourselves. But when it is time to speak seriously about what is happening to us, we are going to do that too. And if that feels “too political” or “too much” for you, then this space probably is not meant for you.

This post doesn't say it so clarifying in reblogs, but the guy in the last screenshot actually went through with it. He's now facing attempted murder charges but the victim is alive thankfully. I kept saying he was gonna kill somebody eventually. Turns out that when someone makes a career out of going around livestreaming themselves macing random black people in the face while calling them chimps and threatening to shoot them to death it's not a joke. At a point I found myself wondering why he wasn't in jail, but it's Tennessee so it's really no surprise.

In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessible…

And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…

Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.

He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.

It's incredibly sad people have to resort to this, but it's a damn good resource. Use it. Spread awareness. Maybe one day people with physical disabilities won't need DIYs like this. But until then, reblog and share.
